Donald Trumps eccentric presidential run is looking more like a standard campaign every day.
While his Republican rivals have been hoping that Trumps candidacy would fade after the initial buzz died down, he remains in first in the polls even after coming down from his September peak. Meanwhile, his campaign has been building the infrastructure necessary to put up a real fight in the earliest primaries and beyond.

Once he gave up the Macy’s contract, Apprentice, numerous endorsement contracts, etc. I knew he was in. While he doesn’t need the money or notoriety from those other things, he doesn’t give them away free. He really does have some Scot left in him. He has skin in the game.
The more people talk about him dropping out, the more he is obliged to stay in.
You figured it our sooner than most. Congrats!
Mikey, Mikey...this is not good for your blood pressure.
Ill match my blood pressure against anyone on F.R. and then some...
its always at normal..SOOPRISE sooprise!
I stay in excellent shape in order to BE several LAPS ahead to the current curve.
Thank GOD. This was a worry that they were relying on the national game and not focusing on the minutia. Should of know a businessman with Trump’s record would know what he needed to do to succeed.
Yeah the GOPe tried to run a third party spoiler against Reagan in 1979. He kicked both candidates butts hard. They can try it and lose just as badly
Trump, like any very successful businessman, sets PRIORITIES. His first priority was to expose and downgrade the RINO’s.
Now they are all in single digits.
Next Priority...make sure he is on the ballot in all 50 states.
Final Priority...destroy Hillary’s candidacy, after GOP convention is behind.
Please do not take it too hard if your candidate never sees double digits. You can keep hoping, but do not hold your breath while hoping. Trump will need your vote in November. He wants you to be alive in November.
I will vote against whoever the demoquacks put forward
Touche! I will drink to that!!
this isnt 1979..and DT... is NOT..Ronald Reagan!
I will be greatly saddened if America chooses DT as potus...however
as Bobby JIndal said ... DT is not at all he appears to be
Bobby is no Nostradamus. He can’t see the future any more than I can predict tomorrows daily lotto winning numbers.
Common thread between all candidates? They must obey their rich sugar daddy donors.
For example if Cruz had $10 Billion net worth, he would be the greatest candidate in 100 years. But since his run would be over faster than snow in July, if his rich donors abandoned him, he must push for the cheap labor express (more foreign workers on H1-B visa’s, more immigrants, more trade pacts with cheap labor countries).
That's exactly right.
I'd almost forgotten all about John Anderson.
Most people hear John Anderson and they think country singer. But there was also an Illinois congressman named John Anderson, RINO to the core (they called them "Rockefeller Republicans" in those days).
Anderson HATED the fact that "warmonger" Ronald Reagan was representing the Republican Party in the general election and he felt it was his duty to run a third party campaign and provide an alternative for Republicans and Independents who felt Reagan was too conservative.
In the end, he was a non-factor but he did put a scare into the Reagan campaign that he would split the GOP vote and hand an easy re-election to Jimmy Carter.
Jimmy Carter, doofus that he was, refused to debate Anderson in the fall. So it was just Reagan and Anderson debating on national TV. Reagan's performance showed America that Reagan wasn't the "scary warmonger" that both Carter and Anderson made him out to be. Remember, this was way before the Internet and cable news. The big 3 networks (ABC, NBC, CBS) controlled everything. So this Reagan/Anderson debate was the first time many Americans got to actually see Reagan on national TV.
Had Carter debated both Reagan and Anderson, he would have amplified Anderson's stature and that could have split the conservative/independent vote enough to get him re-elected.
Very interesting election that was. It was not a sure thing until maybe the weekend before the November election that Reagan would win. I think the final Gallup poll had Reagan only 3 points ahead.
Thanks for jogging the memory on John Anderson!
REALLY??? Ross Perot, that was YEARS ago, are you still living in that era???
what does an era have to do with t tactic....a concept?
are certain concepts strictly limited to a given time span...an ERA?
