If you had to vote in your state primary/caucus today, knowing what you know now about the various declared and probable candidates, who would you vote for? Why? Who would you like to see as the running mate for your preferred candidate? If you could help staff your candidates cabinet and other top appointments, who would you choose? If you could recommend different congressional leaders than we have now, who would they be? And who would you like to see on the Supreme Court and why? And finally, feel free to donate to Free Republic.
I go with Trump. He's the only one that may, just might be able to reverse the death spiral Obama and previous progressives have steered us.
Plus, he has the best chance to get elected of all the Republican candidates. He's shown he can get 30+ percent of the minority and various subgroups, . . He'll get the white vote, the majority of women, (IMHO), long term Republicans, the former 'stay at home' Republicans, (not all, but better % than 2008 and 2012), blue dog and blue collar democrats, union workers and other disgruntled democrats. If this all falls into place, Trump should get 55% and hopefully enough of the swing states to go over 270. All statistics to me now and the path to 270. I don't see anyone else getting there. .
Lombardi was right: "Winning isn't everything, it's the Only Thing!"
Let's face it, Trump is the only Republican that has a chance against the democratic machine. Let's all get together and back him. . The earlier the better. Hhrruummph!
:)
I think that grok thread was during one of my final hiatuses (Hiatae?) as Fierce Allegiance. Man, we had fun back then.
My top choices are still the same:
1. Rick Santorum
2. Ted Cruz
3. Bobby Jindal
Cruz.
I like Jindal, but he had a late/non start in this one, he was like #18 in an already overcrowded field and just had no game. Too bad.
Trump
Trump.
I WANT to like Bobby.
Last week while I was riding around the South, I heard Beck say that he was the head of the State Health Department at age 24. That either tells me he has a lot on the ball, or that no one in LA wanted to run the Health Department. Not sure which.
He is one of the ones I am willing to take a look at. I like Cruz, and I think Rubio would be a fantastic VP candidate for anyone.
I understand. But I have this peculiar habit of supporting whom I like rather than whom I think will win. Tilting at windmills I guess. But I see too many people (including some at this site) apparently thinking the question “Whom do you like?” means “Whom do you think will win?” It seems that they are bandwagon followers just wanting to be on the popular or winning side, or they are totally emotional wave followers swept up in the moment who are throwing their panties on the stage. I’ll stick with those I like for now. Perhaps useless, but I don’t feel dirty when the day is over.
Trump as POTUS...
Cruz as V.P....
Carson as Surgeon General...
Trey Gowdy as Attorney General...
I hear ya, I had a Duncan Hunter sticker on my office door for almost a year. People were all like “WHO?”. Anyway, I picked Sarah Palin as the republican nominee’s VP choice (OK, I gave 2 choices) almost a year before the convention. Oh well, can’t win everything.
I want Trump to win, and potentially wound the two party oligarchy. If he can clean up the swamp significantly, we can once more elect a true conservative and attempt a constitutional republic. We don’t have one now; we live in a CiNO. Constitution in name only.
So I want a Trump / Cruz ticket.
All of you who want Cruz as your President in 2016 please make sure to include which Porsche you want JimRob to send you. You are just playing fantasy. My way above is the fastest and pretty much the ONLY way to get Sen. Cruz as our CinC.
I’ll second that.
1. Cruz
2. Trump
3. Carson

Not a chance in hell. Bush
Duncan Hunter would have been a good President. I would have liked that.
Trump, Trump, Trump, Trump, Trump!
For reference, it was about 2 to 1 in favor of Cruz over Trump here last time around. Negligible support for anyone else.
Trump.
Trump, to send the definitive message that the ruse is up on the political elites “two party system”.
And Cruz as his VP would be incredible ;)
Dear Lord, hear humble our prayer.
Tatt
1. Cruz/Carson
2. Carson/Cruz
How anyone can consider Trump an outsider is beyond my limited ability to comprehend. This is his first, and hopefully his only, attempt at elected office but he has been up to his eyeballs in politics all his life. He is just trying to move over from the buying influence side to selling influence side. The media claim to hate him but continue to give him tens of millions of dollars worth of free exposure. Why is that, I wonder?
Cruz!
