If you had to vote in your state primary/caucus today, knowing what you know now about the various declared and probable candidates, who would you vote for? Why? Who would you like to see as the running mate for your preferred candidate? If you could help staff your candidates cabinet and other top appointments, who would you choose? If you could recommend different congressional leaders than we have now, who would they be? And who would you like to see on the Supreme Court and why? And finally, feel free to donate to Free Republic.
What are chaff supporters?
McCain...Ambassador to Syria.
Good point. The thing about Cruz is that he would be great in several roles. God willing he has a long career using his talents to serve our country.
I think that some day he would be excellent in the SC but he also would be a superb AG. He would be wasted staying in the Senate or as VP. I don’t see him garnering any support for majority leader. The Senate is too full of GOPE and he has few friends there. I cannot imagine Trump as the kind of guy to appreciate being “schooled” in anything.
Not even close. It’s Cruz by far.
Ted Cruz. Am I too late?
Ted Cruz
The ‘chaff’ are the candidates that know full well that they have no chance, because they have no sugar daddies supporting their campaign.
Their “supporters” know this too, and their stated support is obviously in protest of the MSM shoving Trump down our throats every chance they get.

A vote for Cruz is never too late!
.
Thanks for the reply. I had never heard that term before.
.
Ted Cruz, would accept Trump, but with crossed fingers.
Ted Cruz’s PAC gave Fiorina $550K...got a funny name for that?
Nope. Do you?
Gotta say Trump with Cruz as VP (Cruz as tie breaker in Senate would be great) Cruz is just not ready for prez. At this point, we have to have someone who can do what Trump is doing to the political machine. Only Trump does not have to answer to big donors, corporate lobbyists, special interest groups..Most importantly, he has a reputation for doing what he says he will do. Under budget and on time.
Either David Clarke or Trey Gowdy Atty General, maybe Giuliani. Yeah I know Gowdy hasn’t made much progress in ongoing inquiries, he’s being stonewalled by Obama and his cronies at every turn. He has a very good record as a prosecutor for at least 15 years before going into politics. He’s not called a bulldog for no reason...
Ted Cruz for President
Carson for VP (I’d like Mike Lee but we need him in the Senate)
I’d like Lee as Majority Leader but don’t see it happening.
Uh, having read about Carson’s Ferguson comment, I’d like to change my vote.
Let’s just leave it with Ted Cruz for president and who ever he wants for the other slots.
Actually, Trump’s strong point is that he gathers all the smart guys around him and finds out what they think.
So, I don’t agree with you that he wouldn’t take advice from others. And .. since Trump’s been meeting with Cruz several times, I’d say that’s a good indication that he values what Cruz has to say.
I think our biggest problem in this country now is the way we have gotten away from the rule of law, and become a country of howling mobs who just want to follow some charismatic guy or gal so that they don’t actually have to *think* about issues. (That’s so much easier, isn’t it? Charismatic Guy says, “This is so!” and you just believe him! Whew, what a relief. No more actual thought.) This goes hand-in-hand with the perversion and bending of our Constitution, that have led us to such wonders as legal citizenship for anchor babies.
Therefore I think we need a person who knows the Constitution inside and out and loves it like he does his mom. We need Ted Cruz. Trump is a great guy in many ways (though he apparently has no filter on his mouth — which I don’t admire, sorry) and I believe that he’s in our corner. But he has a devil-may-care approach toward our rights, and the Constitutional limits of the government. So while I hope he keeps forging on for a while and breaking the PC trail, I will not be supporting Trump in any primary.
As for VP, I’d like to see Bobby Jindal. I think he’d do a great job, and I think his being the VP would “normalize” people of color in high office, so that we’re not continually getting this “first black person!” or “first Indian!” or whatever the flavor of the day is. For God’s sake, people are people and let’s leave it at that. I’d like that to start seeping into the nation’s consciousness. (But mostly I’d like to see him as VP because I think he’d do a great job, he wouldn’t try to take over and upstage the President like some candidates might, and if it came to it, I think he’d be a good President.)
I’d like to see Carson as Surgeon General, and Trump as Secretary of State. (HE would make other nations deal! I’d pay money to watch that! LOL!)
CRUZ!!!! And Jindal. My vote.
“Cruz is too far behind...”
It’s not even a year until election time. Do you really think that Carson will stay in 2nd? Really?
Well new poll out today has Trump up again so I would not count on Trump imploding. He’s likely going to be the GOP nominee and will IMO handily win a general election as he has wide appeal across a number of demographics. Its best not to listen too much to Fox News as they are part of the GOPe cheerleaders trying to craft a strategy to bring Trump down.
