The independent Democratic candidate has repeatedly upheld his socialist views throughout his presidential campaign.
When a New York Times reporter asked President Obama whether his domestic policies suggested that he was a socialist in 2009, the president responded with a laugh: The answer would be no.
After the interview, Mr. Obama called the reporter back to elaborate on his answer, saying, It was hard for me to believe that you were entirely serious about that socialist question.
That socialist question has taken on a new form these days, revolving around the only self-described socialist in the 2016 Democratic presidential nomination: Bernie Sanders.
While Obama chuckled at the thought of socialism in that interview six years ago, Mr. Sanders has repeatedly upheld his socialist views throughout his presidential campaign by largely targeting income inequality. Hillary Clinton has also made income inequality a major plank in her 2016 campaign platform. But, arguably, Sanders has a more consistent claim to the subject....

Obama was endorsed by the CPUSA for both elections.
Yeah, I’d say attitudes have changed.
Can everyone say, “Public School Socialist Indoctrination”
signs are popping up here in Indiana, saw several today
a good chunk of Americans want their gravy
Public hasn’t seen as many dead bodies with Socialism toe tags these past two decades - thanks largely to Ronald Reagan. “Changing attitudes” is a synonym for “childhood miseducation.”
Yet if this is the case, why has folks like Donald Trump and Sen. Ted Cruz caught both interest and fire?
Thank-you ahead for your answers.
They never heard the phrase “They pretend to pay me, so I pretend to work”
Yet interest in Donald Trump and Sen. Ted Cruz is even amazing.
Got to remember that Bernie reminds a lot of folks of their favorite college instructors.
This is true. Schools have been teaching that socailism is good and capitalism is bad for decades. I’ve seen teenagers (20 somethings?) with CCCP t-shirts.
Bernie Bernie Bernie Bernie Bernie
Even now, there is some jackass supporting you because he knows he can’t win an election, but he can put a bullet in your brain and take over if you win an election.
It happens every time Bernie.
Do yourself a favor and start growing turnips instead.
Because most of these dumb Generation X’ers and Millennials have never actually lived under socialism to fully understand its horrors.
One of the local media guys went to Hamilton College when Bernie was between government positions and on the faculty there. He said he still can’t believe that the wild man of the poli sci department is a Senator running for president.
They are experiencing government largesse without consequences.
As long as the fedgov can create money, the party will continue.
Someday it blows up, but they don’t understand.
Sitting across from communists on the DMZ or the Fulda Gap will re-orient you in a hurry.

No one loves socialism more than the Chamber of Commerce!
Bernie will be well funded.
My attitude toward socialism and socialists has indeed changed. I used to simply despise them. Now I just want them dead.
Bmk
It hasn’t changed.
Democrats in the past have ALWAYS hid their Socialist leanings by baring the word from being spoken (the DNC head goon recently dodged the issue). Americans do not take to the term because even despite the massive welfare state, it is still seen as distinctly un-American to embrace it. It immediately gets a wrinkled nose from people to even suggest that they are socialists.
Sanders openly admits to being one and is not ashamed of it. He wont hide his leanings, and outside of old hippies, social justice warriors, and the OWS dopes, it will be a huge negative. That, and Sanders is a bit of a crank. So that will double-up fail.
