Former Sen. Rick Santorum of Pennsylvania gets agitated when political analysts question why he is still in the race for the GOP presidential nomination when he is scoring less than 2 percent in the polls and has barely raised $1 million in campaign funds a pittance compared with many of his rivals.
He notes that when he ran for president last time, he had little money and low single-digit standing in the polls in January 2012 just before he went on to beat Mitt Romney in the Iowa caucuses.
This time, Santorum is so far behind the large Republican presidential field that the Pennsylvania Republican will be lucky to make it past the Iowa caucuses next January. With a record 17 Republicans seeking the 2016 presidential nomination currently headed by real estate tycoon Donald Trump the winnowing process is likely to begin soon.
In the wake of last Thursdays stormy, doubled-barreled GOP presidential debates, two of the contenders Sen. Rand Paul of Kentucky and former Texas Gov. Rick Perry -- appear to be losing altitude....

By the end of the day, the following should drop out:
Saintorum
Putztaki
Crisp Crispy
Linda Grahamnesty
Jim Gilmore (who actually is not bad—former US Army career Intel officer)
Perry the Platypus
John Kase-itch
JED Bush
Rue Paul
Bobby Jindal (sorry, I like him, but seriously, no chance)
Carly Figurina (Leftist)
Who did I leave out?
jBush needs vote splitters in iowa, new Hampshire, south Carolina, and florida.
That his Huckabee, Kasich, graham, and Rubio.
Perry is the vote splitter for texas.
Msnbc, FNC, and CNN were in full jbush vs Hillary mode today.
The undercard candidates are too stupid or too paid off to realize that without jbush they have a real chance.
Are you talking about Trump?
“Romney was a better candidate than McCain”
That’s like saying Rhen is better than Stempy. :-)
What do I know. I’m just a dumb-ass country boy with a pea brain. Pay no attention to me. I’m not the Trump Droid you’re looking for.
Santorum probably won’t be looking to enx Dorset Bush. He read 2nd edition ought last time, he thinks he has a chance. But Trump will endorse Bush like he did Romney.
I had to hold my nose to vote for both. Not this time...
That damned autocorrect gets me too! :0)
Bush doesn’t have to give his meagre support to Bush directly. He only needed to draw enough away from Cruz to keep Cruz from winning.
Kind of like saying a big turd is better than a small turd!
Me neither I have a line in the sand for the first time in my life. Jeb and Crispy.
Which Bush are you talking about? Can't Bush support himself directly?
If Huck and Santorum pull out Cruz gets all the religious right at the polls.
If Paul goes out Cruz gets Libertarians vote
If Rubio goes out Cruz gets all hispanics, accept the ones who like Jeb’s Spanish lingo chats. El Hefty Hefe ate to many Burritos.
If Perry goes out Cruz wins Texas
So as I see it Cruz keeps going up
I don’t agree that Cruz will be the sole beneficiary. Walker will get some and so will Trump, especially the Libertarians.
Ahhhhhh.
I meant Santorum.
Huckabee had a high paying gig. He really did or does think he has a shot.
I finally turned mine off.
All the Cheap Labor Express candidates should rop out:
¡Yeb!
Rubberio
Gahamnesty
La Raza Rick Perry
Kasich
Pataki
Fiorina
NJFatBoy
If they are unwilling to uphold the rule of law, they have no business running for President.
Why is he still in the race?
Because it pads his resume as a “presidential candidate” allowing him to increase his appearance and speaking fees.
