An NBC News poll taken after the Republican debate revealed some bad news for Fox News. All of their favorite establishment candidates lost support while the lunatic fringe led by Donald Trump, Ted Cruz, and Ben Carson rose to the top three positions.

Post-Debate Poll (NBC) Trump 23% Cruz 13% Carson 11% Fiorina 8% Rubio 8% Bush 7% Walker 7%
That's quite a 1, 2, 3...
10:07 AM - 9 Aug 2015
Marco Rubio was the only Fox News favored candidate to remain in the top 5, and he had one-third the amount of support of Donald Trump. Fiorina wasnt even invited to the main debate, but her performance in the early debate vaulted her into the top five.
What is most telling is that the top three slots are being occupied by candidates who have no chance in a general election. Donald Trump, Ted Cruz, and Ben Carson are the kind of candidates that Republican voters adore, but who would get crushed in November. Fox News was especially gentle with Rubio, Bush, and Walker. Rubio maintained his position of single-digit support among voters while Bush and Walker lost support.
The intention behind the Fox News debate was to build up the electable Republican candidates while getting rid of Donald Trump and ignoring the other fringe campaigns. Fox News failed on both counts. Instead of rallying their troops behind someone who could win, Fox gave momentum to the far right.
Donald Trumps post debate support is about the same as it was before the Megyn Kelly fiasco. If the goal was to get rid of Trump, the numbers from NBCs scientific Internet survey indicate that they didnt get the job done. Bush and Walker were like oatmeal and cream of wheat on the debate stage. Dull doesnt even begin to describe their lackluster performances, so it is no surprise they were not a hit with viewers.
Fox News might have helped the Republican Party lose the election by trying to pick the nominee for voters. Fox may guide the Republican Party, but the inmates are running the asylum.
” compare Trump’s wealth to Hillary’s, Cruz’s legal qualifications to Elizabeth Warren’s, and Ben Carson’s intellect to Obama’s?”
Oooh, that’s a good one! Gotta remember that one!
So what in Cruz’s style indicates insanity or unprofessionalism? For extra credit show us a single time he has ever slightly raised his voice.

These people are “opinion makers” and they don’t take very kindly when you have opinions of your own that can’t be “remade”. A pox on them and their house!

I never said there was anything in his style that indicates insanity and unprofessionalism. Cruz gets called a “fanatic” because of his filibustering and intensity as an individual. Carson is so laid back, sincere sounding and intelligent that you really can’t turn any of his positive traits into something negative.

Yep. Proud of both Cruz and Trump.
Which of those candidates is getting support across the political spectrum?
the news media = democrats = communists/socialists
Actually the democrats are the crazies because socialism can never work as it creates a government monopoly and hence corruption and tyranny.
In free market capitalism there are competing interests that keep each other in check. what keeps the government in check in socialism since the government owns everything? Nothing.
That should be reversed on Budget Spending and Debt and on Taxes Economy and Trade.
Trump understands the economy and he understands the role our unbalanced trade deals have on the economy. You can’t balance the budget and pay down the debt unless you get the economy going on all cylinders.
Trump can do it. Cruz can’t. Cruz tried to give Obama fast track authority to negotiate job killing so-called free trade agreements.
Cruz can’t fix the economy because he doesn’t even recognize what the problem is.
Ted Cruz.
I love the sound of progressive heads exploding.
Cruz cant fix the economy because he doesnt even recognize what the problem is.
Are you kidding me?
You’re right
Plus obama trade is the worst thing ever
Obama trade is a Trojan horse for unrestricted 3rd world immigration.

Immigrants is why the USA has been moving to the left.
That's a polite substitute for what the liberals REALLY want to call him...
"Uncle Tom" or "house n****r".
Love Cruz. Don’t know if he’ll make it, but he’s my man. It’s great this year, finally, watching the gravy train Republicans back on their heels trying to control “THEIR party”.
This is all their fault. If they hadn’t disrespected, abused, and smirked at the base all these years, promising us things just to get elected and then just using us for personal gain, things wouldn’t be like this. We’re done now. Did they never think this rebellion would REALLY happen? My guess is they are going to pull out real fraud or some nasty trick or something - people don’t let go of power that easily. That’s one reason people are going for Donald I think. They figure he won’t be messed with by the GOP.
That site is wrong on the budget, debt and trade. I bet it's probably a libertarian site than a true conservative site. But hey, most GOP candidates don't understand the trade issues either. Only Trump does.
