Look here at this site. Many of the same people who would normally support Cruz have jumped on the Trump bandwagon because of the media coverage, the plain spoken-ness and the enemies he is making.

"Pacing himself", is the optimistic answer. The truth is, that he cannot rise above the din. Eight years of vice-presidency under Trump, however, will change that.

I love Ted Cruz, but some less informed people may be cautious about voting for a less than one term Senator because of the abject failure that Obama has turned out to be. Ted Cruz would be the exact opposite. What surprises me is how Rubio can poll as high as he does with his position on immigration, especially since Trump has brought the issue to the forefront. Huckabee is another one that I can't figure out! In my opinion, he is such a fake!

I agree with others, Cruz is not in any big hurry. If Trump is clearing the field, let him. Cruz is young, he has plenty of options, and plenty of time.

Why is Cruz polling so low? Here on FR we know a lot about Cruz, and we talk about him a lot.
Ask your average Republican how much he knows about Ted Cruz, and you might get "Ted who?". How much news coverage on the regular channels does Cruz get? It's early in the game, and a lot depends on name recognition.

I ask this a lot: 1) he comes out with an attempt to tie Iran deal to some other funding, but votes for Corker; 2) he opposed trade deal then voted for fast track.
A person in his polling position cannot IN THE LEAST appear murky. He should have stolen Trump's thunder on illegals, common core, and above all abortion. But whose abortion comments got picked up? Fiorina.
I am thinking he is one more campaign away from the bright lights.

I think it has to do with name recognition. He needs to get more splashy.

For now, Trump has his voters.
Which is why Cruz is being so nice to him.

why is Cruz polling so low?"Low-information" voters aren't as low information as you think. His support for even more H1B Visas hurt. Add to that, he tried "dealing with the devil" and got badly burned on that trade deal. Add to that, he (like most of the others, granted) follows McCain's lead on foreign warmongering.
I like Cruz. He's young, he's smart, he's accomplished. He could benefit from a term of being mentored by someone who is better in tune with the issues that are primary to fed-up US citizens and articulating them fearlessly and not making bad deals.

Why is Cruz polling so low? Is Cruz evan campaigning? The only news I've seen him make this week was from a Senate hearing about immigration. Not saying that is bad. It's a LONG way to the finish line.

Just hope Trump comes out on top.
Cruz would be the go to guy for VP.
Trump would probably serve only one term as POTUS, then Cruz slides in for 2.
Hell, since the Constitution doesn’t mean anything anymore, Cruz might as well be President for life, who is going to stop him?

Cruz has not been in the news much. For short memory voters , out of sight, out of mind. Cruz’s numbers should improve after the debates.
