Donald Perot Trump, my worst fear.
One of the problems is the word “hero” was been used too casually for too long, so that it’s original meaning has been diminished.
I applaud McCain for serving his country. I honor him for his sacrifice as a POW. But that does not make him a hero.
Bob Kerrey of Nebraska was awarded the Congressional Medal of Honor, and was labeled a hero, but when one reads of his exploits one gets the idea that he did not deserve the CMO, and that he was not, in the true sense, a hero. But he should be applauded for what he did do.
A hero is one who willfully gives his or her life to save another, or does something so extraordinary and courageous that his or her actions are such that only one in several millions of people could or would have done them. McCain does not meet that standard. Indeed, many people whom we have casually labeled “hero” do not meet that standard.
Still, Trump should have phrased his comment differently, or should have refrained from making the comment to begin with.

Trump has no business/right to categorize any US vet that has served honorably because he did not do so for love of Country. His choice of making money has it’s own pitfalls. I will give him leeway for a deserter like the guy from Idaho only because that guy sold out the US and his buddies in arms to release US enemies. Trumps bravado will wear thin by such criticisms.

This is a non-factor. It is up to the GOPe to take him out and they will use whatever they can to defeat him and any other conservative. Take him out and then Cruz.

I don’t know what Trump has said since, but I watched this part of the video. What it looks like to me is Trump is starting a thought and says “He’s not...” then interrupts himself because of what had just been said to him and begins another thought “A war hero” in preparation for his remarks about that.
Continuing he says “He’s a war hero because he was captured” twice. Then he says “And I believe... perhaps he’s a war hero.”
What I heard in the audience reaction was as much, if not more, laughter as booing.
I’m not a huge Trump fan, but I’m not seeing this from the same angle that the article is. For my part, I have no problem recognizing McCain as a war hero and for his service in the Senate. But he has been a RINO as far back as I can remember.
Yea Trump will sometimes say these things, but you know what, it was McCain who opened his mouth first and called thousands of his supporters “crazies”. So Trump responds. Fine...whatever
All I know is this, Trump will support our men and women in uniform, and Trump will fight to close the border to Mexico and our best hope to stem the tide of Islamic vermin pouring in.
