Divide and conquer in play. The script is already written:
Jeb at the top of the ticket.
Carly Fiorina as the VP to add diversity plus to be the attack dog.
Jeb won’t attack Hillary directly (shades of both McCain and Romney who wouldn’t lay a hand on Obama). Fiorina’s (like Palin in 2008) will be sent out to attack Hillary while Jeb plays statesman and calls for a new era of good feeling.

At the rate things are going, and given how little traction any kind of resistance is getting, will Jan 2017 really matter?

Obamacare? “I think the best way to repeal ObamaCare is to have an alternative.” - not close enough to an unambiguous repeal position. We cannot afford to negotiate a new medical care law while the socialists are holding the Obamacare knife to our throats.
Amnesty? “It’s not a felony. It’s an act of love.”

Obamacare? “Obamacare has to be killed now before it grows into an even bigger mess”
Amnesty? “Anchor babies were NEVER the intent of the 14th Amendment”
ACCEPTABLE - Perfect on two key issues (but marginal on the Second Amendment).
Carson
Obamacare? “ObamaCare is really, I think, the worst thing that has happened in this nation since slavery”
Amnesty? “Is it moral for us, for example, to take advantage of cheap labor from illegal immigrants while denying them citizenship?”
UNACCEPTABLE - one out of two is not enough in these dangerous times.
Walker
Obamacare? “Our plan calls for reducing health care costs through market-driven solutions, not by forcing us to buy an expensive health care mandate.” did not implement Obamacare in his state.
Amnesty? Mixed. I won’t quote him because he’s taken varying positions and any small set of quotes would be misleading.
ACCEPTABLE He’s great on Obamacare, but I don’t quite trust him on immigration. However, I don’t believe he would ignore a conservative Congress.
