Free Republic STRAW POLL.
Free Republic | June 18, 2015 | 2ndDivisionVet

Posted on 06/18/2015 6:07:51 AM PDT by 2ndDivisionVet

If you had to vote in your state primary/caucus today, knowing what you know now about the various declared and probable candidates, who would you vote for? Why? Who would you like to see as the running mate for your preferred candidate? If you could help staff your candidates cabinet and other top appointments, who would you choose? If you could recommend different congressional leaders than we have now, who would they be? And who would you like to see on the Supreme Court and why? And finally, feel free to donate to Free Republic.

There are protocols on this site that I am not aware of and trip over. Sometime ago someone posted a religious thread on a topic I have wondered about, and if I noticed the word “caucus” at the end of the title, it did not mean anything to me, at all. So I jumped in and gave my contra-opinion. That is what we are allowed to do, right? Well, another poster didn’t see it that way and and became enraged. Didn’t you see the word CAUCUS!!!? he evidently screamed. About half the posts were deleted by the moderator. It was amazing. I hope he didn’t damage himself.

Well a Caucus thread does mean it’s only open for comments from catholics, though if you want to post ‘you can ask’ the posters, catholics usually are quite territorial when it comes to their caucus threads.

Gee, lets wait and see which one' benefit from the TPP deal.

And unlike most of you guys, I actually voted for Cruz for Senator.

So save the chest beating.

Cruz has made a bad mistake giving this treasonous President any more authority.

Cruz has not given this president more authority and you know it.

And, btw, when Cruz is elected President and has this same power, are you going to whine and spew Leftist inspired talking points as well?

Or did you forget?

Cruz is only doing what is necessary to be the most viable candidate, and catching lots of flak for it.

You can’t campaign without money.

If we go your way, we get the bush.

Cruz is raking in the money. People will be surprised when the FEC reports come out for this quarter.

I look forward to it!

Go Cruz!!!

If you wish to post something on a religious subject, and be able to openly debate it, you need to post it in “Bloggers and Personal.”

The rules of the Religion Forum are far too restrictive to fully explore any subject.

The money flowing to Cruz proves that he is the candidate of choice among those that take action.

I don’t really care what anyone else thinks. I’ve made my decision and that’s all there is to it.

I agree...which means that he is doing better than the “polls” indicate and that he can continue to extend the map. He will go a long way with the money he has raised.

What have these two actually accomplished in the senate? Please name those bills sponsored by them which became law.

The country is not in need of new laws, or new federal programs, so that is not the measure I use for success. What we desperately need is a smaller government, but the evil thug in our White House will never sign a bill that cuts his power by cutting FedGov. The best we can hope for is someone who will protect us from further growth of government in these final two terrible years under Obama. Cruz has contributed to that worthy goal, and he has my gratitude and respect for that accomplishment.

“The money flowing to Cruz proves that he is the candidate of choice among those that take action.”

Agreed. At this point, I'm for Cruz 100% and have given 3 times now to his campaign. I can say that has not been the case for a lot of years. Nothing I've heard or read on FR has altered my opinion one iota.

So how long does it take for us to stop wringing our hands and entertaining lessor candidates and get on with the task of choosing a candidate that best represents us? If nothing else, at this point I'd like to narrow the field down to 3 or 4 (or so) candidates. That shouldn't be too difficult. Then we can tell the others to get on board or go take a hike. At some point, only the trolls and Obsessive-Compulsives will hang on for further pummeling and abuse.

I don't think any President should have that power, that is why we have balance of powers in the Constitution.

But Cruz ran as a Tea Party guy and here he is giving Obama unlimited power to make trade deals for the U.S.!
