Free Republic STRAW POLL.
Free Republic | June 18, 2015 | 2ndDivisionVet

Posted on 06/18/2015 6:07:51 AM PDT by 2ndDivisionVet

If you had to vote in your state primary/caucus today, knowing what you know now about the various declared and probable candidates, who would you vote for? Why? Who would you like to see as the running mate for your preferred candidate? If you could help staff your candidates cabinet and other top appointments, who would you choose? If you could recommend different congressional leaders than we have now, who would they be? And who would you like to see on the Supreme Court and why? And finally, feel free to donate to Free Republic.

A lot of the candidates in those MSM polls will eventually start shooting themselves in the foot too allowing Cruz to move up the MSM rankings. I’m thinking Trump, Hucklebery, Carson, Rubio and Bush are all due for some big gaffes and bad performances in the debates.

I’ll try one more time. I do not care how long TPA has been around. It is THIS particular one the we should worry about, because it opens the door for the TPP, etc. Today, Rush mentioned TPA, and he said quite a few of his friends told him that we owe the democrats a debt of gratitude for saving this nation’s sovereignty. That was pertaining to last week’s vote. Rush is very much against the trade bill. Isn’t Rush a conservative? Hannity is much opposed to the trade bill. Isn’t he a conservative. They both mentioned how the Republicans are on board with Obama. Is Cruz on board with Obama? Yes. Therefore, I DO agree with Nancy, right along with RUSH, HANNITY, and the list I have already given you, and the MAJORITY of the American people. Okay?

EternalVigilance, you said that you don't like any of the candidates in the field, so you are done with your search. How about praying for us all? For us to see that God is the only power and God is Love.

Brother and I agree. Cruz is the clear choice at this time, IMO. Carly’s clearly not scared to push back against Hitlery.

he skirts the issue by simply calling them trade agreements.

There is no constitutional evidence that trade agreements can be entered into by a president. States are forbidden from entering into trade agreements, compacts, or conferations. But that does not mean others can enter into those things forbidden by states. The purpose of that section was just as likely to have been an effort by the Founders to prevent states from cutely calling 'treaties' by those other words.

So, if we want to assume that section of the Constitution permits the POTUS to enter into 'trade agreements' with just his own authority, then we also must admit that the president can, therefore, also enter into confederacies pretty much on his own, assuming a TPA at his disposal.

So, we're saying that if Lincoln had lost the first election to the presidency that the democrat president could have gone along with the South entering into a confederacy if he had had a TPA in effect. Is that correct?

And, like most, you can’t answer who you support.

BTW, if you supported Cruz, I shouldn’t have to make a case...unless, of course, you never supported him.

Yep, but how can people take polls like the one from MSNBC where they asked 1200 adults and only 300 Republicans?

But, I think you are right

Are you sure the majority of Americans oppose this? Care to cite stats?

Rush is a Conservative, Hannity claims to be one.

You have been had by a Leftist...but, again, I guess you like it that way

a specious argument

No, because it's a leadership issue. There are commanders and there are members of the staff or subordinate commands. Commanders make decisions and are responsible for them NO MATTER how many of their staff might agree with their analysis and conclusion.

It is a test of leadership to have the buck stop with you.

There were a few republican members of congress who actually got to vote and will have another chance to vote: Cruz, Paul, Rubio, Graham, and perhaps Peter King who spoke once about running.

Each of them had actual decisions on the line, just as they would if they were president. The buck stopped at their desk and they had to make a decision.

The military would laugh in the face of a commander who said "it's all my staff's fault, the fault of others who thought the same thing, etc." They want a commander to simply say that it was his decision to make.

So, on this issue, I'm of the opinion that Cruz, Rubio, and Graham, and King failed. And the buck stops with them. Carly Fiorini and John Kasich had no vote to cast, no decision to make, NO MATTER who they might have agreed with.

“You have been had by a Leftist.”

Could you identify the Leftist? Just one would suffice.

Those must be mighty small droves!

I’m sure that you’ve noticed that more than 90% of those stating a preference on this thread are for Cruz.

Troll on!

EternalVigilance, you said that you don't like any of the candidates in the field, so you are done with your search.

A completely illogical comment on your part.

How about praying for us all? For us to see that God is the only power and God is Love.

He's also the God of truth. And once you've prayed to see that truth, and He's shown it to you, you have the duty to walk accordingly.

Again, none of those yet running are standing for the most import obligations of the oath of office, the very things that will determine whether or not this constitutional free republic survives.

The main opponent of this TPA bill was a Leftist. He admitted he posted this in order to trash Conservatives. It was even mentioned here on FR. Go look it up

We know who the Democratic nominee is going to be. In theory, we should be able to nominate anyone and win so we might as well nominate the most conservative, articulate candidate available. If we do this and still can’t win, then the point is moot and America’s past the saving stage.

TED CRUZ - This race shouldn’t even be close. Cruz is so many miles ahead of the other candidates its ridiculous. He should win IA and SC going away and compete in NH. From there, the network he is building now in many states should get him to the finish.

Running Mates:
Marco Rubio - Say what people will about him being wrong on immigration, as the VP he won’t be tackling any of that while Cruz gets Congress to build the wall. Picking Rubio is a double down like Clinton/Gore that goes against the grain of picking someone to balance the ticket. Cruz/Rubio wins in a landslide.

Dark Horse VP: Jeff Session - Since everyone wants to beat Cruz up on TPA/TPP and they all love sessions, Cruz could come back and select him who is also an ally. Not exactly sure what it does for the ticket though.

I want Cruz to pick someone good to give the keynote GOP Convention speech. Palin would be a clear choice here.Or maybe Mike Lee. And get Tim Tebow there too.

SCOTUS - What’s the name of the Judge that struck down Obama’s Executive Orders on Amnesty? Maybe that guy.

Likelihood of voting in Primary for Candidate:
1. Cruz 99%
2. Walker 0.5%
3. Rubio 0.5%
4. Jindal 0.0%
5. Fiorina 0.0%
