Earlier this week, Ted spoke with the Washington Post's James Hohmann about what the first 100 days of a Cruz administration might look like -- and we hope you're as excited for them as we are! With regard to the current administration, Ted noted, If you live by the pen, you die by the pen. Everything put in place by executive order can be undone by executive order, and that he'd use the transition put together a team to review every executive action made by President Obama and then rescind each and every one that exceeds "the Constitutional and legal authority of the President."
He also said he'd take quick action to ensure Iran doesn't acquire nuclear weapons, take steps to strengthen our relationship with Israel, push far-reaching tax and regulatory reform -- including a full repeal of Obamacare, and fight to put an end to Common Core. Read more from the interview here.
This week, Ted also spoke about how the upcoming King v. Burwell Supreme Court decision provides an opportunity for leadership. In the event the court rules the Obama Administration acted illegally in providing millions of Obamacare subsidies, Ted stated he opposes the approach advocated by some of continuing the subsidies through 2017. Instead he said, "I think the best legislative option is to allow states to opt out. I am cautiously optimistic that the Supreme Court will conclude in King v. Burwell that the Obama IRS disregarded the plain language of the statute and acted lawlessly. And when that occurs, it will be a real opportunity for Congress to lead. In a perfect world, we would take that opportunity to repeal Obamacare. At a minimum, we should allow states to opt out.
We also wanted to make sure you saw this article from National Journal earlier this week. In it, Ted is deemed the "Man of the Movement" for his courtship of conservative leaders at a recent forum with six other presidential contenders. Ted was described as "pitch perfect" and it was noted he "blew everyone else out of the water." And perhaps most importantly, he laid out a real strategy to win. I hope you'll read it here.
As always, we thank you for your continued support -- together we'll reignite the promise of America!
All the best,
Jeff Roe Campaign Manager Cruz for President
P.S. Next Friday, Ted will hold townhall meetings across Iowa, and if you're in the area, we'd love to have you there. Click here to find an event near you.
Your are an anti US bigot.
We have to tackle these problems at many levels. It will take a generation or so to produce highly-skilled graduates of our own to participate in our economic recovery. Meanwhile, we have to borrow some of those from other countries. As we know, the free public education of this country is horrible. What does it produce? Fewer and fewer highly-skilled graduates.
What? I sometimes drink on the weekends too, but not to the point of being an ignorant ass.
Or Democrat trolls...hard to tell the difference!!!
In the 2012, the Paulistas were worse than the dems.
I could give a $#!+ what you think of me. You’re one of the biggest pests on here, and that’s saying something.
ok then. Not rolling over to corporate facism is being a pest. Who knew.
Yeah, you’re a hero of the people and a martyr. How did I forget that?
They still are...thing is they won’t show their hand...they just stand on the side and hurl insults at your guy. You notice they don’t say who their guy is!!!
You have a losing argument. There are thousands of workers that may be slightly lacking in skills for a job position. Minimal training would bring them up to snuff and ready for the job.
Look I don’t know what your background is but its probably no more extensive than mine or half the freepers here. I have been a regional manager with many employees. We trained people for open slots all the time. Its not rocket science.
The reason corporations are so eager to hire in the H1-B visa workers is that they work cheaper, put up with more chit and can’t go anywhere. End of story.
PS: A little advice, it is way OK to be for Mr. Cruz. But to try and convince Free Republicans that the H-1b program is nothing other than pure evil government interference fascism is another. Cruz is way wrong on that issue, it would behoove you to move on and tell us about his other great attributes.
What an odd thread. Isn’t it a little premature to be pulling the “Every Candidate Is Insufficiently Conservative” card?
Only candidate who can see what is going on?
I don't think so.
Only candidate who has the courage to fix them?
As of last week, Cruz confuses 'courage' with
'cash' bonuses to his wife from Goldman Sach,
so I don't think so.
The "T" in Cruz stands for (unfortunately) TOAST.
It’s called talking points...all good democrats practice them!!!
Who are you for??
Realistically nothing will change, if all the idiots we have elected since 2010 in Congress won't do anything why in the Hell would you expect one person to be able to do anything??
We have given the Republican Party every opportunity to draw the line on the sand and yet they do nothing and will do nothing. Why continue to support them and any of these people running. I am almost to the point of deciding it's way too late to do anything. If we can't trust these people we elect to do what we elect them to do then I guess it will be a Total Government Default and the next Revolution before we see a real change.
Tell me one of these so called Free Trade agreements that has helped this country. Did NAFTA??????????
We keep sowing the seeds of our destruction all in the name of these trade agreements. I say leave NAFTA, G7, WTO and tell them all to go to Hell!!!!!!!!!!!
I believe Cruz is a war monger. I hope I’m wrong for the country’s sake. Every GOP candidate but one wants to be a war-time President and he is being run out of town for his foreign policy.
Who are you for??
