Can Rubio, Bush both compete for Latino vote? (Ted Cruz "post-Hispanic")

*VIDEO-AT-LINK)

They're both Spanish-speaking Republicans from Florida. And they both want to be president.

There's a battle brewing between Marco Rubio and Jeb Bush over who is best-positioned to help the GOP make inroads with Latino voters, a crucial voting bloc for the party if it hopes to win the White House in 2016.

Rubio will make his case on Monday when he formally announces his presidential campaign. He'll speak from Miami's Freedom Tower, where Cuban exiles who fled Fidel Castro's regime stood in line for processing, and introduce himself as the son of Cuban immigrants whose candidacy is the embodiment of the American Dream.

But Bush -- an immigration reform advocate who is married to a Mexican woman and took some ribbing for accidentally identifying as Hispanic on a voter registration form -- isn't likely to cede much ground when he launches his anticipated 2016 campaign in the coming months.

Rubio's campaign is already making Florida politics a little awkward. The senator is a longtime Bush protege and his bid is leaving activists and donors feeling divided over which camp to join. The looming push for the Latino vote could add another layer of complexity -- and personal animosity -- that might split allegiances of Republicans in this crucial swing state....

Both of them will have to get the illegal alien vote to win.

Citizens who value the rule of law won’t vote for them.

I believe Marco Rubio is positioning himself well to be on the ticket as VP.

I have no clue what Jeb is doing other than feeding his ego.

The media is so transparently biased that I sometimes think only the most partisan leftists aren't laughing their arses off at them.

Then I consider that most Americans have received a state sponsored education and never learned how to use the good sense God gave em.

Rubio disqualified himself by lying about amnesty and showed stupidity by joining known amnesty supporters when he could have proposed his own legislation. Epic fail.

Rubio schemed with Schumer against the citizens with his Gang of Amnesty. And then lied about it. He would be a drag on any ticket, he can’t run with Jebster, anyway. They’re from the same state.

I know he’s not running with Jeb.

I also know he screwed up with the amnesty 8 gang. I believe he’s tried to back away from his amnesty position but it is certainly a negative.

I am supporting Cruz.

Cruz would be wise not to pick Rubio. Sarah Palin or Susan Martinez might be better.

It’d be interesting to see the ever bigoted, racist, xenophobia GOP end up with a Cruz-Rubio ticket. Won’t happen, but it’d sure be interesting. Naturally, they’re BOTH “White Hispanics.”

Susan Martinez or another governor would probably be the best choice.

Ohio Gov. John Kasich may not be a bad choice either since he’s done well in a swing state.

The Gang of 8 thing is like a tar baby that Rubio cannot unstick himself from, no matter how hard he tries. His eager participation in that treason doomed any real chance he might have had of becoming the Republican nominee.

Well informed Republican voters will never forget, and will never trust this guy again, because of it.

Rubio is a traitor to conservatism, so he's out. Palin has been far too demonized by the left, and would be a ticket killer. Martinez is a fellow Hispanic, which would send the wrong optics to much of the base.

I'm pretty sure Cruz will pick someone other than any of these three.

Amazingly the way Fox program “Outnumbered” tried to whitewash Rubio’s failed amnesty deal was by saying “at least he tried”. Seriously??

I agree. He might would be a front-runner if not for the gang of 8.
