Thank you for referencing that article 2ndDivisionVet. As usual, please bear in mind that the following critique is directed at the article and not at you.

While I will vote for Ted Cruz for president if nominated “to lead the nation forward,” please bear the following in mind. Practically the only domestic service that the states have ever delegated to the feds, expressly via the Constitution, the specific power to regulate, tax and spend for in the name of “leading the nation forward” is the US Mail Service. This is evidenced by the Constitution’s Clause 7 of Section 8 of Article I.

The 17th amendment needs to disappear.

And, making sure through their con of education, the media, and pop culture that this is what most Americans believe to be the truth.

The thing that gets me about items like this is the view-in-plain-site alternative universe occupied by liberals.
Here is an example of a “Professor” using false facts, incorrect references and inexplicable summations to deliberately mislead.
That the article is clear drivel is without question.
That this cr*p is taught every day, promoted every day and believed unquestionably by millions in America is an existential threat to this country.
How does one fight a lie when the truth will never be believed?

“Ted Cruz’s demented strategy” As always the premise is always wrong or biased in favor of the left. What would you expect from Salon?

The writer is correct, Cruz does not need to win the White House to push the agenda to the right. Isn’t that part of the point of Cruz’s candidacy? Sure he wants to win, who in their right mind would jump the in the race without the intention of winning? That he can drive it rightward is a nice side effect, but not the goal.

These people need to stop snorting Jell-O. It has filled in the holes left by the spirochetes and will soon displace what remains.

In contrast, Movement Conservatives like Cruz believe that rich businessmen are society’s proper leaders

Yeah, I saw that line in every speech and every platform and every essay by Conservative thinkers and politicians... except, you know, never.

Cruz does not have to win the White House to win the war. So long as he can grab headlines and whip up voters,

Oddly enough, he doesn't have to whip anyone up. If the past 2 years are any indication, the Left whips up their forces into frenzies over falsehoods, and the Right (FINALLY!!!!) reacts, firmly and properly. Nobody on the Right whipped up anyone in the Indiana RFRA business. That was all the LGBT's doing.

Movement Conservatives can continue to hold enough congressional seats to continue to block legislation

*raises hand*
Professor? Ummm... how is it exactly called "blocking legislation" when Republicans have majorities in both Houses? Isn't it the majority in each House that writes and passes legislation? Just asking. Please don't boycott me.

and defund the government.

ANY reduction in the budget scares the Left more than nuclear war. That should tell us how much they are skimming from every level.

Then they can do as Buckley hoped: stand athwart history and make it stop.

I fail to recall that Buckley essay. "Stop History, I want to get off!" The Left knows that they are trying to create an alternative history, and anyone who isn't falling for the narrative must be silenced.

Any objective observer in 2015 can see that the New Deal and the Great Society are in fact failures. Social Security? Bankrupt. Medicare, Medicaid? Bankrupt. War on Poverty? Bankrupt. The notion that a government can sustain even a small number of its citizens on the backs of taxpayers? Bankrupt.

The media is doing the job Cruz expects them to do, it is all working together to his advantage, the biggest problem maybe the only problem Cruz has right now is name recognition that problem is being resolved daily, soon his name will be on the lips of every American, whether good, bad or indifferent.

Cruz is a most confident candidate he has the ability to shift the wheat from the chaff, the lies and deceit he can with few words cast into the fire, his face steadfastly set towards the restoration of our Constitutional Free Republic.

But Cruz belongs to a reactionary wing of the party that rejects the idea that the government has any role at all to play in the American economy.

...

I really doubt that’s what Cruz is, but apparently Salon can make up anything it likes.

Googled HCR who looks like a male impersonator.

Hates William F. Buckley Jr. AND Ted Cruz? Tells me that Sen. Cruz is the real deal in the conservatism department.

Lefties love to crow about Goldwater’s humiliating defeat at the hands of LBJ. But they neglect to mention that less than a decade later, their own extremist candidate suffered an even worse defeat at the hands of Richard Nixon, followed eight years later by the political and ideological tsunami that was Ronald Reagan.

So whose values REALLY rule?

-...who point out that Common Core is a set of standards voluntarily adopted by states rather than a law.-

Heather’s ignorance on CC is disappointing, but not surprising. Common Core is far more sinister that its stated purpose. More and more parents and state governments are wising up to this fact.

And if Heather wasn’t so lazy, she would have learned that CC is also designed to greatly enrich only a handful of Bill Gates’ cronies; a steady, guaranteed source of income for as far as the eye can see.

Not Demented—Brilliant! Cruz wins even if he loses. There is always other elections to will—Maybe a term or two as Governor of Texas? Maybe a VP ship? Then the white house
