Bilerico reporter Andrew Markle initially reported that GOProud was shuttering on Sunday, and following initial denials on social media from members of the group, key organizers confirmed to Bilerico founder Bil Browning Monday that the group is indeed planning to close up shop.
Nevertheless, "We're leaving GOProud behind and re-branding the chapters," Bechstein told Bilerico.
"The fact is, in order to continue promoting the conservative principles upon which this organization was founded, change is needed," Bechstein wrote in an email to Bilerico. "One of the changes under discussion is a switch to a different legal type of organization — basic paperwork that requires dissolution and immediate subsequent reorganization. Technically, as some argue, this would be a legal closure. … But if it were to actually happen, it would only be momentary and certainly not the end of our organization."

His name is Derroy Murdock.
He NEVER, EVER brings up gay issues at all in his columns.
National Review??
So how about libertarian then? Clearly someone supporting queer rights is no conservative.
So you wanna label them libertarian? Works for me.
Having known many homosexuals I know for a fact that they filter everything through ‘gay’. Everything. I do not care what.
He is no different. A christian that identifies as a christian filters their views through the prism of Christianity. A homosexual filters their views through the prism of homosexuality. that’s the way it is no matter how he writes, who he writes for or what he writes about.
It is the nature of homosexuals to do that just as it is the nature of Christians to do that. Some people want to make excuses. But excuses do not change reality.
It is funny how many people on this sight say they don’t care what Adam and Steve do, so long as they don’t hear about it...then turn around and want to exclude those people who’s sex life has nothing to do with the items you listed above.
I know some homosexuals who just want to live their lives, they want all of the items you listed and have no want for homosexual marriage or any of the other BS that the Homosexual Mafia are pushing. They actually are against the government forcing homosexual marriage on America - they think it is an overreach by big government!
These people are conservatives who are caught up in a sin! If we are going to exclude people because they sin differently than us, then we are going to be pretty lonely on this sight before too long - especially if all of our own skeletons ever fell out!
I am NOT supportive of homosexual relations, when they ask, I tell them exactly what I think! So, we don’t talk about our sex lives - we talk about the government overreach and the problems that our government is creating for us ALL!
We should not be so blind as to think that those who sin differently don’t want the same things in our government!
RE: He is no different. A christian that identifies as a christian filters their views through the prism of Christianity.
Can you explain to me how budget or energy issues or support for Israel get filtered through the prism of a gay person?
Well stated!
BTW, `homophobic’ is a Gaystapo epithet used to silence dissent. But literally it connote sameness & fear, therefore “homophobia” is irrational fear of those who are the same as oneself.
Me, I’m not afraid of other conservative gun owning heterosexuals.
;^)
Are you that naive? Really?!
It's called a smoke screen.
Tell me why they can't join with other conservative groups on those issues but instead need to form a pro-homosexual group. Could it be that they have a different agenda? Hm?
Why do they need a pro-homosexual group to support those issues?
I think you mean "site."
It's true, we all sin, no doubt about it. But we don't live our lives believing that adultery/theft/lying/murder, etc. are normal and right. Homosexuality is not only a moral sickness, it's a mental sickness. I've known quite a few of them; it takes over their lives and is their very identity.
Lets get this out of the way and save time.
Seek and find, do you personally have a friend or family member who is a homosexual that you are defending?
Forgot to add---if you think this country can be turned around by concentrating solely on fiscal issues, and neglecting moral ones, you are tragically mistaken.
RE: Are you that naive? Really?!
No I am not.
I know of some gay people who just want to be left alone. They don’t agitate for gay marriage and they don’t advertise to the world that they are gay. Some have been outed against their will.
RE: Tell me why they can’t join with other conservative groups on those issues but instead need to form a pro-homosexual group.
BTW, if you think I am in support of GOPProud, you are mistaken. I for one, am glad they’re gone.
However, if you read my previous posts on this thread, I simply state ONE FACT — There are gays out there who do not join any gay groups who REALLY ARE CONSERVATIVE on many issues.
I treat people as INDIVIDUALS. I don’t GENERALIZE my dislike for the lifestyle ( which I personally consider an affront to God’s laws ) and then unthinkingly say that ALL GAYS want to push their lifestyle on others.
Many do, some don’t. For the former, yes, I consider them my political opponent and I fight them. For the latter, I have nothing against them.
Sure. What does money go to fund? What causes? What medical issues?
What about the diversity in hiring issue where homosexuals demand unequal to their numbers representation in positions across the workforce in energy and every other field? What about how homosexuals have traditionally sided with and make up a massive portion of environmental causes...who are very anti energy production?
what about how homosexuals start demanding gay ‘rights’ when they infiltrate each and every sector of private and government affairs?
GAY. 24/7 Gay 24/7 Gay.
That’s a good question.
I actually looked over SAF’s posts to see if this was new or if there was a trend of other pro-queer postings.
Not true. I just found a Murdock column from March 31 of this year about that very issue. He said that the root causes of sexuality deserve discussion and debate.
Invariably, ‘conservatives’ that make excuses for homosexuals have close ties to them personally.
I have nothing against homosexuals that vote conservatively. However I know that when they form groups with homosexual names such as “GOProud” or “Log Cabin Republicans” they have a different agenda than mine. The whole purpose of forming a group is political power.
Everyone here knows that I have a homosexual brother whom I love very much. He’s wrong but I love him.
People need to read Robert Green’s 48 Laws of Power. I keep recommending this and it would clear up a lot of things people debate over.
Power is what it’s all about.
No I meant Seek and Find, not you.
I had a gay sister in law. Our relationship was less than stellar.
