Hes a 42-year-old freshman senator, but when asked by Jonathan Karl on This Week if hes ready to be president, Republican Sen. Marco Rubio of Florida answered without hesitation.
I do but I think thats true for multiple other people that would want to run I mean, Ill be 43 this month, but the other thing that perhaps people dont realize, Ive served now in public office for the better part of 14 years, said Rubio. Most importantly, I think a president has to have a clear vision of where the country needs to go and clear ideas about how to get it there and I think were very blessed in our party to have a number of people that fit that criteria.
When asked if he was qualified to run, Rubio reiterated that the Republican Party has several qualified candidates.
The question is what whos vision is the one that our party wants to follow? he said.
Rubio who spoke to Karl on Friday in New Hampshire said that if he decides to seek the presidency, he would not simultaneously seek re-election as a senator for the Sunshine State.
I believe that if you want to be president of the United States, you run for president, he said. You dont run for president with some eject button in the cockpit that allows you to go on an exit ramp if it doesnt work out.(continued)

Why?
Well, that’s saying something from an old-timer like you. [chortle]
How much “executive experience” did Abraham Lincoln have before he was inaugurated?
“How much executive experience did Abraham Lincoln have before he was inaugurated?”
Not sure destroying 1/3 of the country and killing 600 000 Americans is much of a recommendation.
We dont need the floodgates of illiterate anti-Christian illegal aliens flooding our shores.

98 percent of them are Catholic. Are you saying that Catholics are anti-Christian?
Ill take the other Cuban, Cruz or even Perry

The Perry who is addicted to pain pills and who can’t remember sh** in a Debate?
If you were fair, you wouldn’t say that. I suppose that you could have major back surgery and do without pain pills during recovery, being such mighty man and all.
I’ve known people who’ve had back surgery and took pain pills during recovery but did not become an addict. Besides, he has endorsed Mitch McConnell. He has sold out to the GOPe. I wouldn’t spit in his a** if his guts were on fire.
What evidence do you have that he is “addicted”? I live in Texas and know a lot of people active in the party. No one has suggested that he is addicted in the least.
While Perry isn’t perfect - and I can name a lot things he’s done that I don’t like, e.g. the TTC, the HPV vaccine program, signing hate crimes legislation, not being tough enough on illegals, etc. - on the whole, he has done a fairly good job of running Texas. If it weren’t for Dewhurst and Straus he would have been able to do more. I’d prefer Cruz, but Perry would be better than Romney redux, Rubio, Christie, Santorum, Pawlenty, or Paul.
Rubio Vs Hillary.....
I would go for Rubio.
I am doing well financially and do not need higher taxes
and wealth redistribution.
No worse than Fuehrer Obama.
Cruz is a great conservative, but can he persuade independents and one democrat?
Rubio more natural born than the Kenyan.
Stop making adult, rational, logical posts. That diverts from the theme of this thread.
You mean better than Jeb Bush, Chris Christie, Marco Rubio or Mike Huckabee?
Tell you what...when you’ve been her oh, let’s say, a year or so, rather than a matter of hours and have a posting history, why don’t you get back to me? BTW, what was your previous handle here?
Correct. Jeb, Chris, Mike and Marco can persuade lots of independents and even many democrats.
I will bet you my paycheck Cruz will not get Reagan democrat or any other democrat vote. He would also do worse among independents compared those 4 RINO’s.
That is a shame because he would make a very good president.
Seriously? You really think that a member of the BUSH family would have a prayer against ANY Democrat? That a 400lb loud-mouth is going to win for us in the age of high definition television? That a BAPTIST PREACHER from ARKANSAS who pardoned murderers is going to beat the Hillary machine? That a baby faced Cuban is the way to garner the MEXICAN vote?
I am totally done with any Bushes in 2016-2020.
I never said Jeb would win. Again, what I am saying is that any of those 4 RINO’s will get more democrat crossovers and independents than Cruz. Cruz is the most hated and vilified potential candidate if you read left wing sites. Not as bad as Palin but pretty close.
Among those 4, Rubio would do best in general.
