Hes a 42-year-old freshman senator, but when asked by Jonathan Karl on This Week if hes ready to be president, Republican Sen. Marco Rubio of Florida answered without hesitation.
I do
but I think thats true for multiple other people that would want to run
I mean, Ill be 43 this month, but the other thing that perhaps people dont realize, Ive served now in public office for the better part of 14 years, said Rubio. Most importantly, I think a president has to have a clear vision of where the country needs to go and clear ideas about how to get it there and I think were very blessed in our party to have a number of people that fit that criteria.
When asked if he was qualified to run, Rubio reiterated that the Republican Party has several qualified candidates.
The question is what whos vision is the one that our party wants to follow? he said.
Rubio who spoke to Karl on Friday in New Hampshire said that if he decides to seek the presidency, he would not simultaneously seek re-election as a senator for the Sunshine State.
I believe that if you want to be president of the United States, you run for president, he said. You dont run for president with some eject button in the cockpit that allows you to go on an exit ramp if it doesnt work out.(continued)

You comment is far too harsh, but we don’t need a president who wants to be loved by the GOPe. I’ll take the other “Cuban”, Cruz or even Perry

Wow. Did he suddenly turn into Governor Walker? Sheesh I don’t think he should even mutter the words “President”.

Both Senator Rubio’s mother and father were Cuban citizens when he was born, they did not become naturalized American citizens until several years later. He was born in 1971, they became citizens in 1975.

You dont run for president with some eject button in the cockpit that allows you to go on an exit ramp if it doesnt work out. Rubio has got this part of the equation right at least, now lets see if he lives up to his own rhetoric.

Zero chance and ... go away.

Rubio is almost a perfect candidate for us.
HOWEVER, there is one issue on which there can be NO compromise: Immigration. To allow any type of amnesty bill to become law would be the last nail in the coffin of the United States. We can recover from a lot of things, but not from that.

Sorry, Marco. You still have the stench from the Gang of 8 crapola.
You may think you are ready, but as easily as McCain and Schumer manipulated you, you are far from ready.

Maybe Marco can go courting for Charlie’s support after Charlie returns to Tallahassee in January 2015.
