Vanity: topic of discussion 2016 election.
Mike Pence the 2 term governor of the state of Indiana. He has conservative credentials. Freepers ? if he were to run in 2016 would you support him and vote for him ? He is what we have been looking for ? does he have any weak points ? What if he were to ask Ted Cruz to run on a 2016 ticket with him ?
“Even Cruz is for amnesty....”

Oh, it’s you again. Apparently you’re still on your jihad against Ted Cruz.

I am standing by for my deserved apology from you. You should stop making a fool of yourself. It is not attractive.
I’ve always liked Mike Pence since I saw a video of him giving a speech on the US Constitution at Hillsdale College. He had a quiet resolve that stuck with me.
He is one of several I could easily support.
Yes! That’s the speech I viewed! Thanks!
Unfortunately, the smaller minds outnumber the larger minds, and will vote in 2016 on the basis of everything except ideas. Even Ronald Reagan became President, not because of the Laffer curve, but because he had a great personality and Jimmy Carter looked like everyone's dour uncle.
Cruz has the personality; Walker has (less, but enough of) the personality; Palin has the personality. Any two of the above, with the third in the Senate (which would mean Palin running in AK this year, or Walker in WI in '16), and we would have a chance against Vote-For-Me-Because-I'm-Not-A-Man.
No unfortunately. I stopped holding on to that brightly colored, helium filled balloon in October of 2012. Pence has the advantage of not already being over-exposed in the media. That means we must soon introduce him to the public.
Pence on the ticket, maybe, with Cruz, Walker or Rubio. Palin is likely NOT running for anything until our leadership changes. It’s not worth the heartache or the personal passion. I’m speaking of wrongful leadership in both parties that needs to be weeded out. She’s only in her early 50’s, so I expect her to try with 12 years or so, unless we get the right kind of President earlier than that.
Indiana
first to require voter ID and fight the battle to the SCOTUS
Voted down common core
Did not give in to obamacare
Always has a balanced budget
Decertified voting machines that were later used in purple states that gave 0 his second term
Pence is a good man. So was his predecessor. We’re going to need two good men to run for senator and a conservative governor in the near future. .....hate to loose him but happy to be considered!
True that, but that’s all the more reason on FR to not join the cult of personality lo info nation.
And yes, ‘16 will be a lot about personality, becuase that’s what happens in Prez election cycles. In mid terms? Not so much.
It’s ALL about 2014, period.
Pence is fine by me. Unless it’s Jeb or Christie, I have no qualms about voting GOP.
The original problem with Pence.

He may have learned his lesson by now. Im suspicious of those get into office and think it is their job to try to solve every problem.
“And in fact, part of Pences no amnesty claim is that the guestworker visa would be limited to a total of six years. This would be an encouraging requirement, except that, in the congressmans words, At that point, the guest should decide whether to return home or enter the separate process of seeking citizenship. If legal immigration quotas are to remain in force, then these formerly illegal, now temporary, workers will have to leave, en masse, six years from now, which is precisely the mass deportation the congressman said (correctly) is unworkable.”
Anyone who gets the Republican nomination will be better than whoever gets the Democratic nomination, whether it is the Hildabeast or someone further to the left.
I'd say Cliven Bundy for President, except that 2012 showed that a lot of Republicans won't vote for a Mormon candidate.
Pair him with one of the Western GOP governors. That could work.
I say 50/50 on whether Palin will run next time.
Last time I believe she changed her mind at the last minute.
I believe she will run next time.
Isn’t this the guy who’s wife wouldn’t let him run in 2012?
Patriot’s Party! or Liberty Party! Pence/Palin or Palin/Pence How about American Independent Party! let the games start.
I say 50/50 on whether Palin will run next time.I believe something happened to change her mind.Last time I believe she changed her mind at the last minute.
I believe she will run next time.
Her September speech in Iowa was the opening salvo in her campaign, IMO. Up to that point, all her moves indicated she was running. But shortly after that, her message began to change. She began speaking more and more of not needing an office to serve the country.
I've went back and forth between
- the GOPe making it clear they would not support her under any circumstances, to
- personal threats to her family.
Either scenario is feasible and one doesn't necessarily preclude the other.
Not if I can help it...
