MANCHESTER, New Hampshire (Reuters) - Outspoken real estate magnate Donald Trump said on Tuesday he may seek the Republican presidential nomination for 2016, adding that New Jersey Governor Chris Christie's prospects for a White House run have dimmed since a scandal erupted.
A run for the presidency "is something I would certainly look at," Trump told Reuters. "You know why? I'm unhappy with the way things are going in America."
Trump gave the telephone interview before making a breakfast speech at the "Politics & Eggs" forum at St. Anselm College in Manchester, New Hampshire - an event that tends to feature presidential hopefuls. Trump did not directly address the idea of a running for office during the speech....

It may not bother him, but if ever a man could anticipate IRS scrutiny, it would have to be Trump. With his many corporations and leveraged real estate deals, there’d have to be some law or deal the government could misinterpret as unlawful.
Trump run as a Democrat?
Didn't he say recently that he'd run for governor of New York so long as he was unopposed in the primary?
All the Democrats would have to do is get one of the networks to pick up "Celebrity Apprentice" for a season and Trump would drop the presidency for the TV show.

Tokyo Rove is wrong. I doubt if many Tea Partier will vote blindly by party lines again. The only way this would happen is if we won some other clear concession instead, like the end of Obama Care, or the end of the EPA, or the UN being moved to Beligium and our contribution being drastically reduced. Real change with immigration laws that would benefit the united states and protect the boarder. That is a possible collateral benefit that I would consider.

Trump doesn't share my conservative social values, but frankly, the odds of the Republican nominee, much less the next elected president sharing my conservative social values is really low.
But Trump understands the trade issues and would be really good for America's economy. Plus trump gets things done. He is a quick judge of character, and would quickly have people in place to shape up the government, if anyone can.
And at this point the weak economy is hurting America's social values. Fixing the economy is becoming so important that it's starting to climb the list of social issues.
Plus Trump understands business controls and audits. I bet he could make a serious dent in the corruption in government.
And perhaps most importantly. Trump loves America and I don't he is a globalist. Trump would put America first.
I agree. I will not vote for Christie. I will not vote for Trump. I will not vote for anyone who I feel is a socialist even if they have an R after their name.
My top issues:
Honesty. I will not vote for a liar or a fraud. I will not vote for someone who says whatever he thinks he has to say in order to get a vote.
Repeal 0vomitcare.
No amnesty. Close the borders.
Enforce the laws that are currently on the books or else repeal them. No selective enforcement. If voter suppression is a crime, then it’s a crime regardless of whether the perp is black or white. If 0vomitcare is the law, then granting exceptions to favored companies is morally repugnant. Selective enforcement is nothing more than a dictatorship dressed up in euphemisms.
Reduce government. Cut spending. Cut social services. Get the government out of the charity business and out of the education (indoctrination) business.
I doubt there is a candidate who meets all those standards to my satisfaction, but at the very least I want someone who will move the ball down the field in that direction, not someone who continues in the current direction, but just at a slower pace.
As we have seen, the GOPe will NOT vote for a Tea Party candidate.
Trump is the comedy act that has to get into festivities at some point.
Trumps needs to focus like a laser on taking Cuomo out. He has ZERO chance of the presidency.

Evidently De Blasio has refused to plow the Upper East side of New York for political reasons! LOL!
Now, refusing to plow in Seattle is an old story. They won’t use salt, either. They are afraid to get more salt in the salt water of the Sound. They pulled this one year the week before Christmas and told everyone to shop locally. The Seattle reasons were different, though. Seattle hates cars and they hate Christmas.
De Blasio, though, picking what he sees as the wealthy people of the Eastside who didn’t vote for him.
Trump can handle the economic problems...and he owes no one.

Trump also has high name recognition even though most people probably have no idea of where he stands politically. That means he might be able to run on a few key issues, such as:
- Smaller government. Promise that many federal employees will hear “You’re Fired!” if he’s elected
- Fiscal conservatism. He should hold his own with anyone the Tea Party likes on this issue
- Fighting corruption and gov’t waste, emphasizing that what happens in government would never be allowed to happen in business, and bringing his business discipline to the job
- Major change in policy to promote business expansion, private investment, and to repeal Obamacare and eliminate or vastly downsize regulatory agencies like DoE, EPA, and Dep’t of Education.
- Strong national defense, return to a military run by professionals not liberal social engineers and wimps.
- Ignore or take neutral stands on social issues.
If he did this, tell me he would not gather very strong support from conservatives, as well as independents and libertarians.
