Steve Flesher has an interesting post over at American Thinker about “rehabilitating” Sarah Palin, or more specifically, how she can help rehabilitate the GOP.
Goodness knows, the GOP needs all the help it can get. Between the very public “war” between Chris Christie and Rand Paul, the fall from grace of Marco Rubio, John McCain’s unveiled attacks on the only actual conservatives in Congress, and the lackluster, waffling of GOP leadership, the Grand Old Party is looking more old than grand.
Is Sarah Palin the answer? Or at least part of it?
Flesher, linked above, sure seems to think so:
"In the Senate, Palin could serve as the bridge between Tea Party legislators like Ted Cruz and Rand Paul and establishment veterans like John McCain. As a result, the party may finally begin to “rehabilitate” itself as it makes a fundamental shift back to its own core principles by making the Constitution its roadmap.
Of course, it goes without saying that Sarah Palin doesn’t have to run for anything to be effective. That has been proven over and over again.
With all that being said, respected commentators like Bill Kristol could serve the party well by acknowledging the truth. The only ones in need of rehabilitation are the self-appointed experts in the GOP, not people like Sarah Palin who have actually gotten things done both in and out of public office."
He makes some good points throughout, and while, personally, I’m not sure compromising with the likes of John McCain will lead anywhere good, if anyone can bridge the chasm between the Tea Party and “establishment” republicans, it could well be Palin.
I gotta think Palin is too smart to commit suicide shilling for the people who screwed he so royally.
She would be better at leading the charge against the GOPe.
Pray for America
If someone thinks Palin need rehabbing, then they don’t get it enough to contribute anything to the discussion. If the people in the GOP who trashed her tried to rehab themselves by reaching out to Palin, then the author MIGHT have a point worth considering.

The Republican party of Washington, D.C. is a dead fish. I suppose you could say it's "supporting new life," but as a fish, it's dead.
So they are trying to figure out how they can manipulate her into serving their interests.
Without taking anything away from her, I'd say her popularity is based on the fact that she gives voice to what most of us believe. If she gave voice to anything else, she wouldn't be who she is and she would have as much influence as the RINOs who alternatively want to banish her and coopt her.
In other words, it isn't up to her to be a bridge between the GOP grandees and the rank and file membership; its up to the grandees to make up their minds to actually represent the people and principles they were hired to represent.
The professional GOP poobahs think everyone is for sale because evidently everyone they know is for sale. They will be the death of the GOP and no one will mourn it at the rate its going.
THE chasm? A chasm? ANY chasm?
It appears there are several fractures in the GOP. If you take a step back, it is obvious that the overall reason for the fracturing is the GOP's inexorable move to the Left in its effort to self-perpetuate. It has put Party ahead of America. I think this is where you have to start.
Reagan was an unpopular candidate with the GOP, becasue he cared more about America and the American people and less about party politics. Did he try to unite the GOP? I don't think so. What really "unites" the GOP is success. Once Reagan was successful, oh, the GOP loved him. I think people need to be less concerned about how to fix the GOP and more concerned about how to fix America.
Palin and the Tea Party come across as caring about America first. Success is a byproduct of standing for and doing the right thing the right way. The hand-wringing GOP may not like the one who does that, but one way or the other, like Ronald Reagan, principled statesmen and women WILL be successful and the GOP will have no trouble uniting behind success.
I'm not saying that you ignore or alienate the GOP, but your intentions and actions are about America first. Otherwise, what's the point? The GOP has lost its way. It will easily "unite" behind a successful visionary who loves America.
Reagan was the Right's version of this. Obama is the Left's version. Obama is a visionary who doesn't care what people think of him. He has one goal - Socialism. He's going do whatever he can to reach that goal. He'll work within the DNC but his vision comes first. The good guys need a whole lot more people like this - not hand wringing party politicians, but true believers in individual freedom and America.
The GOP-e would not give her the time of day. It will never happen.
The “Chasm” between “Welfare Republicans” and Conservatives became permanent with the predictable defeat of “Romneycare” Romney in the 2012 loss to Obama’care’ Obama. What a sad joke that corrupt election was.
That 2012 National Election was the last time that Conservative Republicans would see anything of value in the GOP-e, RINO, moderate, or Welfare Republican wing of the GOP.
There is no more “Big Tent” for Palin to mend together, and I wonder if she knows that.
Time has moved past the old guard of the GOP and their me-too, PC, cave-in methods.
2014 is the watershed year for control of the GOP.
2014 is the National Election opportunity of a lifetime for Conservatives to run for Federal elective office.

What the hell is a "real conservative"? I support Palin because I want results. I don't give a damn about "conservative rhetoric" spewed by so-called "real conservatives" who fail on every level to reduce the size of government, control costs and root out corruption. Sarah Palin got results. PERIOD!
GOP-e really think that “tea partiers” are simple folk. If they could just get Sarah to endorse Chris Christie we’d all fall into line just like that.
They don’t understand that the day she does that we know the fix is in and she’s become the next Marco Rubio.
The idea that some personality is going to “rehabilitate” the Republican Party is vain.
The only way it could ever be rehabilitated is if its members, and their representatives, returned to principle and stopped compromising.

You wanna bridge the gap in the GOP? Get rid of the Asses that want to reach across the aisle and compromise! These morons like McLame and Boner and all the rest of the outdated over the hill taxpayer leaches need to go. But Steve Flesher is a gay rights activist who runs the website www.gayconservative.org.
He is using Sarah Palin to build support for his effort to repeal state constitution amendments across the country. In fact, he has overtaken Conservatives4Palin.com and become their lead moderator and number one columnists.
Why should we give him any credibility?

I am finally able to say it: I’ve been in the loop on the first initiative of its kind here in Arizona. Currently, 12 states have legalized gay marriage. Now, Equal Marriage Arizona – helmed by conservatives and libertarians – has come out with amendments to the Arizona constitution that would legalize gay marriage for the first time in a Red State.
