New Jersey Gov. Chris Christie is swatting down criticism from GOP ranks that he isnt conservative enough, saying in an interview airing Friday that hes a damn good Republican.
Is it a fair question to ask that if you ran as a Republican for president of the United States, what Republican Party do you see that would support your candidacy out there right now? How would you survive a primary process on the current set-up of the Republican Party? NBCs Brian Williams asked Christie, who is considered to be mulling a 2016 run.
Listen, I think very well. Ill worry about the presidency if and when I ever decide to run for it. But if youre saying to me, How do I feel as a Republican? Im a damn good Republican and a good conservative Republican who believes in the things that I believe in, Christie answered....

Should be “ I’m a damn good LIAR!”
Ah, thank you! I was going to respond to that idiotic statement of protecting old CC, you did a far superior job of doing just that!
CC, just shut the he** up - I doubt he really even knows what he stands for, he’s just making it up as he goes. He bores me.
What’s with these yankee Republican pols?
Only they think they’re conservative.
Make that “I’m a damn good Republican In Name Only”. There, that’s better.
It gets pretty bad when you have to tell every that you are good Republican. Like Christianity, it is now what you profess to be true but your actions will tell the truth of who you are.
Chris Christie is a much better democrat based on what I have seen
I think he meant to say RINO.
In other news, Bill Clinton is a good model of chaste behavior and fidelity.
I do know most of this. I am no fan of him. The point of my post is that we may never get the perfect candidate. He certainly is not. The sooner we figure out who we want the better. The more electable he becomes. We to protect him from defamation. Otherwise we will lose again. Opening up the potential for another obama.
If McCain and Boenhead and Graham and Rove et al define the Republican Party then yes, Christie is a “damn good Republican”
I still marvel at the Einsteins out there AND on this very forum who insist on defending that putrefying carcase of a party, full of closet statists.
It would be nice if just one of those sycophants would have the courage to answer the eternal question: What has your philosophy of "lesser of two evils" done to slow, let alone stop, or god forbid, ACTUALLY REVERSE the trend by BOTH parties towards the oppressive leviathan of state we now have?
The only way Christie comes near being conservative is if he eats one
Pro terrorist, pro illegal, anti gun....son that ain’t no way to be conservative
Oh, he makes an excellent Republican. But he’s certainly no conservative.
OK, Governor, if you say so. Now tell us how you’re going to set aside all the New Jersey gun laws that infringe upon our second amendment rights.
Let us all not forget that Ann “man neck” Colture pushed him on all of us with the zeal of a muslim zealot shouting allah at the bar.
