Rubin's closing remark:

"Cruz’s actions suggest an immaturity and lack of sophistication about conservative governance. He might want to apologize to his colleagues for betraying their confidence and sit down and think what it is he wants to do in the Senate. Obstruction is easy; governance is hard. And if the answer is that only hackneyed gestures (e.g. push for repealing Obamacare with a Dem Senate majority, but offer no alternative) that interest him, then the people of Texas are being shortchanged. Worse, he’s doing nothing to suggest he’s a man of stature and future leader in the party."

Rumney-butt-licking Rubin's hurting because a few tea party senators won't toe the GOP line. We will see if Texas citizens agree with Rubin or Sen Cruz.

This Texas voter wants Cruz to keep on being Cruz. If I knew his boot size, I'd get him hobnail boots to trod upon the squishes toes.

Compared to the maturity and sophistication of the chief 'wacko bird' of the Senate eh, Jen?

Being nice to RINOs and Democrats is a waste of time. They’ll knife you in back when it time to return the favor.

FAR better to do the right thing and mock the RINOs in front of their constituents. You won’t get good behavior from RINOs without coercion, but an angry constituency hammering them might be just the trick.

I think Cruz went easy on them:

"We’ve had probably five or six lunches with a bunch of Republican senators standing up and looking at Rand and Mike and me and yelling at the top of their lungs — I mean really . . . And they said: ‘Why did you do this? As a result of what you did, when I go home, my constituents are yelling at me that I’ve got to stand on principle.’ I’m not making that up. I don’t even bother to argue with them. I just sort of let them yell. . . . They said: ‘Listen, before you did this, the politics of it were great. The Democrats were the bad guys. The Republicans were the good guys. Now we all look like a bunch of squishes.’ Well there is an alternative. You could just not be a bunch of squishes."

Senator Cruz is doing what the voters elected him to do. I realize that is novel in todays America but it is refreshing!

It is a shopworn technique of hard-line conservatives to declare themselves men and women of principle in contrast to those other Republicans — the ones, you know, who pass legislation and try to represent their constituents.

FUJR

If Congress would never pass another piece of legislation we'd all be better off.

I didn't vote for Cruz to represent or please his colleagues.

I voted for him to represent me and I love Cruz.

John McCain can "kiss my grits!" That's what's wrong with D.C.--too much senority.

There is being principled, and then there is being a jerk. Putting down your colleagues to boost your own street cred with the base falls into the latter category.

Oh, I see, so it's ok for an asshole like Jennifer Rubin to indulge in name-calling & sarcasm, but for Senator Cruz to call out the stupidity (ie Dianne Feinstein) or hypocrisy (Toomey, McQueeg, Rubio, Graham, etc) is somehow being unprincipled or a jerk?

You know Senator Cruz is doing something right when the partisan hack media goons need to try & defend the liberals & RINO pansies in the Senate!!!

So Jennifer Rubin, boo-hoo yourself, and how is this for being too blunt.... STFU!!!

Ms Rubin can you be that stupid?
“he comes across as whiny. They yelled at me! Boo hoo, senator.”
He was not being whiney like most democrat politicians and many rino’s he was wearing that as a badge of honor!

Democrats are lashing out after feeling the sting of losing a gun control vote in a Democrat controlled Senate.

Ask Jennifer if she’d say the same thing if a Democrat had stalled anti-abortion legislation and her ilk would instead pen pages of praise for such obstructionism.

The people who change their words based on the issue are the ones without principles...the reporters.

Stall gun control legislation and they call you obstructionist. Stall anti-abortion legislation and they call you a hero.

They dont care about governance and compromise or even leadership...just their agenda.

Jennifer is disgusting.

Rubin: Cruz is “doing nothing to suggest he’s a man of stature and future leader in the party.”

High praise coming from this hack.

If Rubin doesn’t like him, you know he’s hitting the target. Well done, Sen. Cruz.

Mark Levin ripped this B@#ch’s @ss the other night for her RINOness. Of course, why am I not surprised that the Radio Rino, Medved, was so cordial with her the other day on his show? RINOs = cloak holders for traitors.
