Former Governor of Alaska Sarah Palin has warned that the federal government is “stockpiling bullets” in preparation for “civil unrest,” adding that America is “finished” if it cannot deal with its debt problem.
Writing on her official Facebook page, Palin remarked, “If we are going to wet our proverbial pants over 0.3% in annual spending cuts when we’re running up trillion dollar annual deficits, then we’re done. Put a fork in us. We’re finished. We’re going to default eventually and that’s why the feds are stockpiling bullets in case of civil unrest.”
The post achieved nearly 12,000 ‘shares,’ attracting nearly 60,000 ‘likes’ and over 4500 comments.
The Department of Homeland Security has committed to purchasing around 2 billion bullets over the course of the last year, in addition to buying 7,000 fully automatic assault rifles last September (the agency referred to them as “personal defense weapons”).
Although the mainstream media has played down the purchases as the feds merely saving money by buying in bulk, the ammo buys have contributed to shortages across the country.
However, concerns were further stoked last week when Law Enforcement Targets Inc, a DHS contractor that supplies shooting targets to the agency along with thousands of police departments, was forced to apologize for producing “non-traditional threat” targets which featured images of pregnant women, children and elderly gun owners in residential settings.
Politico published an article following Palin’s Facebook post bizarrely claiming that her concerns about the federal government purchasing ammo in large quantities had been debunked despite admitting that “government agencies are, in fact, purchasing large amounts of ammunition.” This tactic of admitting that the government is purchasing a huge number of bullets while simultaneously portraying anyone concerned about the fact as erroneous and paranoid has been adopted by other mainstream media outlets....

If you mean a Japanese who lived on the west coast, or a German in America, those who were considered risks were put into internment camps during WWII, but they were fed and housed well.
I doubt that they met up with paratroopers, or even Marines, or saw the federal government dealing with civil unrest.
I say it also. Apparently a lot of people are waking up and facing the facts because earlier this week I heard our local judas goat, Todd Schnitt on WFLA say to the effect that there was nothing to worry about and the ones that were voicing concern were kooks. Exactly almost word for word what the Jews inGermany were told about those who tried to warn them. What else Schnitt said, I do not know because I turned off the radio.
oh yes. At least she has the guts to tell the truth. Unlike our establishment Republicans who are doing absolutely nothing to stop Obama and the march to socialism.

The folks that you see in black combat fatigues carrying MP-5 submachine guns demanding that you provide govt. issued photo I.D. to enter a office building that has a govt office in it . Also have no doubt that the various federal govt agencies will form up to create “multi-juridiction task forces .
How many rounds of ammunition would the typical DHS agent shoot in practice each year. Since you instruct them you should have a pretty good idea.
There are several different departments within DHS and each one has their own regulations on qualifications. I work for the Border Patrol and each agent gets about 100 rounds a quarter for actual qualification and practice. Sometimes it is more depending on the nature of the training. We have nearly 20k agents in the Border Patrol. So 20k x 100 rounds x 4 quarters equals 8 million rounds just for basic qualification. This doesn’t even include tactical training of regular line agents or the training of our special operations units such as BORSTAR or BORTAC. Keep in mind this is just one agency among many within DHS. Office of Field Operations(Legacy Customs/INS) use nearly as much ammo.
