Hudson City Alderman David Marston says Second Amendment supporters are gun-toting Tea Party psychotards.
A New York alderman is in hot water after lashing out at Second Amendment supporters as gun-toting Tea Party psychotards and threatening to beat you barbarians back. Hudson city Alderman, Dave Marston, sent this email tirade out to Johanna Johnson-Smith (JJ), a main organizer for the first NY SAFE Act protest rally in Albany last month. Johnson-Smith was concerned about the new gun control laws the city was proposing. Here is Marstons response.
Via Mental Recession:
Dear Joanna Johnson-Smith,
Its really neat that all you gun toting tea party psychotards are so interested in the goings on of our little City, even though I find it amazing that you dont have any other pressing issues before you in New Lebanon. On the other hand, I guess its not surprising, considering you ideologues arent interested in actual policy, but rather grandstanding on mythical narratives of victimization.
Two things: The only spit here is the white stuff frothing on the ends of that rotten little mouth of yours from which you spew this hateful ignorant trash. And a donkeys behind? The rabid ignorance of the fringe is best illustrated by its sad metaphors, I mean seriously, thank you for the laughs.
By all means, come on down, well be happy to beat you barbarians back with the clubs of reason & responsibility, radical lunatics that you are. And say, a quick ProTip, since youre the organizer for unemployed guns nuts USA. Next time you think these unhinged rants will change the mind of anyone who has even a modicum of intelligence, you might instead just go back down into your basement & watch another episode of wheel-of-fortune....

What's his screen name on Kos and DU I wonder?

He needs a serious history lesson about the area he represents. Maybe he should read the Coxsackie Declaration which was written and signed more than a year before the Declaration of Independence by Green County and Hudson Valley citizens, my ancestors included, based on what had just happened at Lexington and Concord. (hint: Brits attempting to confiscate arms) . Jackass needs to recalled or impeached.

I wondered when I read “psychotard” if the writer were 12 years old. He is.

Apparently, one of Marston’s fellow Alderman (3rd Ward - Friendman) went so far as to blame Johnston-Smith for the email, saying she “poked the bear” on the issue:

As for Marston, aside from his other, many idiocies in the email, he also used a Nazi reference. Goddard’s Law once again proving the people who have nothing legitimate to base their argument on will invariably compare their opponent to Nazism.

Note to Marston: Don’t bring a club to a gun fight.
On second thought, do.

Dear David Marston: Mythical narratives of victimization? In the thirty years between 1968 and 1998, there were about 800,000 murders in the U.S. committed using a variety of modalities, almost none committed for political reasons. Elsewhere in the world between 1917 and 1987 there were over 260,000,000 victims killed by government types for purely political reasons. What enabled the government types to round them up and march them off to the death camps? Superior firepower. What would have enabled the future victims to protect themselves? Superior firepower. What kept them from having it? The government types disarming them.
The Founding Fathers were correct to point out that a citizen's greatest danger came from his own government. The Second Amendment doesn't exist primarily to ensure our right to hunt or to protect ourselves from the common criminal, but to make sure a citizenry armed to the teeth with all the fearsome weapons of the soldier will dissuade government types here from doing what they had done in Europe. We have the vote, but what the Second Amendment was adopted to protect is the power behind the vote. Mao was only quoting the Founders of the United States when he said power comes from the barrel of a gun. Keep that in mind, Davey.

i wonder if he’d then agree that pro-aborts are 1st Amendment, blood-lusting, baby-sacrificing, money-grubbing, right-to-privacy murderers.

you know he takes an oath to support the constitution, he’s just verbally given proof he’s not supporting or defending it. time for him to be forced to resign.
