Rep. Charlie Rangel (D-NY) joined MSNBC anchor Thomas Roberts on Wednesday to applaud strict new gun laws passed by the New York State legislature and signed by Gov. Andrew Cuomo this week. He said that he was glad that the legislature, and the federal government, were doing something in the wake of the murder of children and teachers in Newtown, Connecticut. He noted, however, that New York is more progressive than some places and some regions, particularly the American South, have cultures that we have to overcome in order to enact stricter national gun laws.
This is not Constitutional rights, this is common sense, Rangel said referring to new gun laws in New York state. We know that those people that incorporated the right to bear arms was not talking about the slaughter of children thats happened in Newtown, Connecticut.
Do you think that New York and what has been done in this state could be used as a role model for other states that would like to enact something of New Yorks model? Roberts asked...

What about diversity and multiculturalism?
We just don’t want to be lumped in with scum like Rangel, Cuomo, and Bloomhole.
Its kinda funny really. Obama really screwed the flyover country democrats. Even Al Franken says he supports an assault weapons ban “In Principle” but sounds like he’s unlikely to vote for one.
I live in one of those States and for that I say thank God.
Culture to overcome?
LOL
Yeah, like being putrid mold, such as yerself???
Hey, hey, hey. Ever look at an election map buddy? Notice the red running right up through the middle of the country?
That's us, your countrymen.
Tell me about it.
What was that line from “Blazing Saddles”?
Church Congregation: [singing] Now is a time of great decision/Are we to stay or up and quit?/There's no avoiding this conclusion/Our town is turning into shit.
this also applicable
Gabby Johnson: I wash born here, an I wash raished here, and dad gum it, I am gonna die here, an no sidewindin’ bushwackin’, hornswagglin’ cracker croaker is gonna rouin me bishen cutter.
It will happen in our liftimes.
I have been predicting it for a long, long time now.
He’s obviously talking about the culture of the gangs of color that inhabit S. Chicago...
Sorry to exclude you all. We in N E Florida are experiencing an in flood of carpetbaggers trying to bring with them the mores of “back home” in NJ, NY or New England. Frankly, we have had enough of their input. Was chatting with one who tried, fortunately unsuccessfully, to join the county commission a few years ago. His agenda: enviornmental protection; increased school funding; and a host of other north east big city ideas. I asked him how it was where he came from and he said not so good. I pointed out if they had all of these items he was proposing for here, why did he move? He stammered. He is now on the gun control band waggon. Somethings never change, a NE liberal is always going to be a northeast liberal even if they get rid of their 3 piece suit.
Again, it was by omission I did not include the parade of states north of the Texas border to the Canadian border. Used to work through that area and we are in sync on fundamental values and idea. When ever I hear Obama or his minions talking, I can only think back to some lyrics of “the wall”: “We don’t need no education We don’t need no thought control” (of course the rest of Floyd’s diatrob is wacko, but these lines are worthy for His Excellency).
Good luck Chuck.
The line was Slim Pickens:
"Don't just lay there gettin' a suntan, ain't gonna do you no good anyhow"
Not PC, but what I think of when i see that pic/
Now now FRiend I’m from Nebraska & we aren’t one of those degenerate NorthEast Yankee proto-fascist like Rangel . Aside from that I tend to agree with your sentiment.
I pulled that broad comment back in a later post! See #36.
