Rep. Charlie Rangel (D-NY) joined MSNBC anchor Thomas Roberts on Wednesday to applaud strict new gun laws passed by the New York State legislature and signed by Gov. Andrew Cuomo this week. He said that he was glad that the legislature, and the federal government, were doing something in the wake of the murder of children and teachers in Newtown, Connecticut. He noted, however, that New York is more progressive than some places and some regions, particularly the American South, have cultures that we have to overcome in order to enact stricter national gun laws.
This is not Constitutional rights, this is common sense, Rangel said referring to new gun laws in New York state. We know that those people that incorporated the right to bear arms was not talking about the slaughter of children thats happened in Newtown, Connecticut.
Do you think that New York and what has been done in this state could be used as a role model for other states that would like to enact something of New Yorks model? Roberts asked...

Northeast idiots who think a great deal of themselves.
Well, mr wrangle, WE are NOT of a mind to be “overcome”.
The civil war gets closer every day.
This loathsome creature should be in jail for tax evasion and corruption, not pontificating on national television.
Journ-O-lists and democrats have no shame.
Here is something I wish to get across to all our fellow republic members who live north of approx 37 deg N Latitude: We don’t give a damn how you do it up there. We are fine the way we are. Take your suggestions for how we may better ourselves and put them where the sun don’t shine.
I don’t know why he’s picking on the south. We’re pretty free and easy with the guns here in the midwest.
Perfectly stated.
Southern man don’t need him around anyhow...
Charlie doesn’t speak for anyone else up here.
Yep, Texas to North Dakota are as good as the deep south when it comes to guns.
What he meant to was “Cracker rednecks” South was a euphamism (sp?)
Yeah, we have respect for the Constitution and the will to defend it.
Deal with it.
What would your reaction be then? You are basically saying that you approve of genocide of nearly half of the country if they refuse to accept your proposal of having their culture overcome.
As a matter of fact, many of us believe that the Muslim culture, especially here, should be completely overcome and the followers of such culture need to sell their assets and self-deport or be forced to leave. Now, wonder what their reaction to THAT is going to be? I'm sure they will invite us to help them achieve that goal, don't you think Rangel?
I have posted before that we are headed for civil war well before others posted it here. If some of you folks up on your high hill don't tone down your rhetoric, you're going to start something that is going to take a long time to end. Are you so foolish as to go in that direction? The president should be coming out asking every one to settle down and to deescalate the dialogue, but he does not do so. He is not a proponent of unification, but a puppet of those who would destroy this nation by dividing one side against the other and is, in fact, enabling them. That is treason. What I fail to understand is why some congressmen are not challenging him daily on this issue.
The scripture speaks so eloquently to this point: Matthew 12:25 And knowing their thoughts He said to them, "Any kingdom divided against itself is laid waste; and any city or house divided against itself shall not stand.
Michigan is one of the most free states when it comes to open carry. Just the other day I saw Detroit firearms instructor Rick Ector on the local news (he’s black BTW) explaining that open carry was never illegal in Michigan. He calls it a false perception that grew over the past 30 years and people began to accept it as law. Now we need to reeducate the people.
What the F do gun laws have to do with the Sandy Hook shooter??? He was insane and stole his Mother’s guns because he was legally not allowed to possess his own...unless I’m misinformed. Since 2008 we’re truly living Orwell, it sucks. I feel like I’m surrounded by mindless zombies.
