No, this is jot a joke. Not kidding, not joshing ya, not The Onion. Esto no es un chiste y yo se que Vd. no puede creerlo. As the GOP is now reeling from an election campaign where its clear failed Presidential candidate and increasingly self-discredited-by-mouth Mitt Romney ignored, turned off, or neglected to woo key growing groups the GOP needs to survive .as the GOP is soul searching about ways to offer a more affirmative and positive form of politics that offers solid specifics rather than warmed over talk radio riffs or lines seemingly grabbed from blogs Charlotte Allen in the L.A. Times suggests what it really needs is: Sarah Palin as its 2016 nominee.
"The Republican Party has been doing a lot of hand-wringing and finger-pointing since the presidential election. Half the conservative columnists and bloggers say the GOP lost because it overemphasized social issues such as abortion and gay marriage. The other half says the party didnt emphasize them enough. And everyone denounces Project ORCA, the campaigns attempt to turn out voters via technology.
But Ive got a suggestion for cutting short the GOP angst: Sarah Palin for president in 2016.
You think Im joking? Think again."
She makes her case in detail and says:
"Some Republicans will say Palin has too much baggage from 2008, and we need to look for a new Sarah Palin."
Sarah Palin has so much baggage TSA is opening a new office to inspect it.
"But I dont see whats wrong with the one weve got. Ever since the 1990s, Republicans have been looking for the next Ronald Reagan. Reagan is now revered in bipartisan circles, but during his presidency he was, like Palin, ridiculed by liberals. They cited Bedtime for Bonzo and sneered at his no-name college degree.(continued)

For some reason, I’m guessing you’re older than Generation X.
I’m 75 and I quit associating with dumb shits my own age when I was 7.
All my friends and people I grew up with are 82 to 90 if still alive.
lol - ask me again in the fall of 2015.
Said very well. I hope you keep hanging around and keep posting here. Good night sir.
Most of the people who hate Sarah Palin are liberals who would never vote for a republican under any circumstance.
The GOP swindle's us every time
If she gets nominated I’ll vote for her.
Chuck Norris in 2016 or don’t bother calling me.
Are you comparing Sarah Palin to George Washington?
Is that what you got from that? No, what I’m saying is that the founding fathers here and in South America didn’t let an opposition press stop them and neither should we, whether you call us the Tea Party, the silent majority or something else. Plus, I don’t think that George Washington would be ashamed of Sarah Palin, though I’m surprised so many here are.
She has sons?
Oh yea! One. Nevermind!
Fair enough. It’s much too late to get in a discussion about the framers and what they might think of the current state of American politics. (Although one must imagine they would be rather disappointed)
I don’t know what the answer is for the GOP. I’ve been living and breathing politics for the last twelve months, it’s all become terribly tiresome.
I voted libertarian because I’m sick of seeing young men and women coming home in body bags or with their limbs blown off. The first candidate who has a serious plan for getting America out of the world police business will have my support.
Otherwise, the GOP can go fly a kite.
Exactly Palin.
But them FR is as infested with Palinhaters as the Democratic Party, the GOP amd the Greens.
Count me in - Sarah’s still the best hope - she will not flip-flop - had she been the nominee, we would have won!!
I’m sick of voting for ‘wimps’. I voted for ‘her’ in 2008(not McCain)and hopefully will again in 2016,this year I voted ABO. I’d crawl on broken glass to vote for her - All the way from Tasmania. I’m fortunate to get home every year to visit my children, grand children and now great-grandchildren and I hate seeing the country I love going to hell in a handbasket. We need to restore our conservative values - now or never!!
I want Sarah, 100%
Palin is a joke. She is riding the Tea Party mantra right now because she isn’t facing the pressure. If she were the nominee, she wouldn’t be much difference than Romney or McCain.
I’d go for Palin but she is a conservative and EVERYONE knows the Republican party only nominates very old rino geezer white guys.
Amen to that. Everytime the world says, “Somebody should do something!” They mean American blood and American treasure must be spent on some aim that is of no benefit to us. Then the same ones that asked for our aid stand back and call us warmongers while seeking to profit off our troops blood and sweat.
We need to spend a generation or two taking care of our own.
Yep. And if she runs I'll support her.
But if she coyly bats her eyelashes for three years, forget it.
