Luntz said he has never had a focus group swing as much as his Obama-leaning group did tonight. "This is a big deal," he says.

Tonight, pollster Frank Luntz assembled a focus group consisting of undecided Colorado voters. By the end of tonight’s debate, the group had moved dramatically toward GOP nominee Mitt Romney.

At least half a dozen focus group members who voted for Barack Obama in 2008 now say they will vote for Romney. Virtually everyone in the group said that Romney won the debate and exceeded their expectations.

Luntz, who has been in the polling business for at least two decades, says he has never seen such a dramatic shift in opinion as a result of a debate.

People wanted a clear indication that Romney was an acceptable alternative. That he CAN be president.

They got that and then some.

It also shows that Obama’s (manufactured) support is WEAK

It was a successful, experienced mature man against a spoiled, pampered, narcissistic adolescent. The ref should’ve called the fight about a third of the way in.

As much as Luntz’s endless focus groups tend to annoy me, this *is* big news. IMHO, Romney swept away a lot of the Obama/MSM caricatures of him and for was able to really put for the image of a strong, confident leader who can be trusted with the Presidency. In short, he kicked out the supports from under the main focus of attack for the Obama re-election campaign (i.e. make Romney into a bogeyman).

I know it’s a long time until election day, but tonight was a welcome boost.

I actually saw Mitt Romney in action for the first time myself last night..All I can say is WOW! This man was born to be President and, I am convinced, would be a Godsend to this country at this time in history. He is a dynamo who could bring back some self-confidence and pride to our battered nation.
