Contra Dick Morris, Mitt Romney is not winning this election. At least Mitt Romney is not winning the election right now. Conservatives are obsessing over every poll, the turn out models used, and the media bias that is on ful display. Yes, some of the polling models seem screwy, though we all forget the pollsters apply a secret sauce known only to them on top. Yes, reporters are fully beclowning themselves to get their god-king re-elected. But while we may be focused there, the fact is the Romney campaign isnt functioning well. Lucky for you and me the election is not today. But something needs to happen in Boston and I am less and less hopeful anything will happen.
It would be easy to dismiss me by saying I never cared for Romney or Im somehow actually rooting against him. So let me put it to you this way: Jenn Rubin and I are on the same page. Thats either a sign of the apocalypse or there is something really dysfunctional happening within the Romney campaign.

I agree with you, all one has to do is look.
Reality is that many voters don’t even know who Joe Biden is.
Reality is that barely 50 % of our voter-age population ever votes in National elections.
Reality is that most voters are so disgusted with politicians in “both” parties that they do not plan to vote in November.
You and I and the rest of us FReepers are the exception. What we do is almost trivial compared to the Reality that I have listed above.
That Reality is Romney’s to lose, IMHO.
Correct me if I’m wrong, but I don’t believe the polls showed, beforehand, what a “shellacking” the Democrats would take in the 2010 Elections. We expected to do some house cleaning, but the polls did not indicate it would be as big a win for the Republicans as it was. It was a shocker. Am I right or wrong?
Thank you for your Post #51.
Sorry but when Erickson simply ignores all contrary polling data to cling to his doom and gloom opinions, he demonstrates his analysis is more about his ego then a serious analysis.
Keep track of the pantie wetters. When the election is over we need to have a reckoning with the useful idiots of the Democrat propaganda machine. These sorts of articles need to be career ending mistakes. They do one thing, help reelect Obama.
Obama won in 2008 running a “I’m not Bush” campaign.
Oh, I watched it, alright. Every vicious attack against Newt. Every snide putdown of Santorum. Every rumor booster against Cain. All of it.
OK, so Mitt is a pit bull against conservatives. That s not in doubt.
Now, how is he against commies?
Obama won by default.
What is sick is the desperation some “Conservative” pundits like Erickson have to mindlessly regurgitate the Establishment Media's Pro Obama narrative instead of using their column/show/forum as a media platform to fight the Democrat propaganda machine.
Exactly instead of using his platform to launch attacks on Obama, Erickson and some "Conservatives" would rather spend their time shooting their own in the back. These clowns do this every election. Time for their actions to start having consequences.
Based on the stupidity of the American voter.
Yep instead of using his media platform to attack the Left, he uses it to ingratiate himself to them. These sort of "Conservatives" need to be held to account. They do this stupid crap EVERY election. It time they be held accountable for being the useful idiots of the Democrat propaganda machine.
Watching Romney in the primaries don't prove shit. Mc Cain jumps on Conservatives with both feet. During the '08 campaign all he could do was kiss obama's ass and say what a great President he would be. While his stooges stabbed Sarah Palin in the back time after time. To date, I haven't seen anything different from Romney.
“If the election were held today, who would win the 2016 election?”
Good point.
“The “Anybody but Bush” campaign by the Dems was very effective. “
Actually President Bush won reeelection in 2004 in spite of the most vicious smear attack in history. For weeks before the election, every left-winger on the web KNEW that Bush would lose because they in the left-wing echo chamber kept telling each other that he was the worst president ever. There were never a more surprised group of people on the morning after the election, when Bush had won.
Yes, you are correct about 2010 and how the press missed the landslide against the Dems.
Which is why we shouldn’t be putting any stock in the media’s false narrative they are trying so hard to gin up against Romney.
Without an incumbent running in 2008, Obama successfully defined McCain as the third term of Bush. McCain was happy to oblige thru his statements and actions. The Bush legacy is still alive today as Obama still blames Bush for what he inherited and he is saying that Romney wants to return us back to the failed policies of Bush.
Bush was not a conservative and not a very good President. He presided over huge increases in spending, expanded the welfare state thru the prescription drug program, doubled the education expenditures thru no child left behind, supported an amnesty against the wishes of his own party twice, and signed McCain-Feingold when he had enough votes to sustain a veto. That said, Bush was far better than Obama.
