There was something that convinced Palin not to run after all the groundwork and infrastructure she and her paid consultants laid down over the summer. I’m convinced it was her high unfavorables.

The difference between her and Newt is that Palin is an intelligent person who knows when there’s nothing to be gained from running a losing campaign. Newt ignored his high unfavorables and wound up in debt. That’s why Palin might someday be president and Newt never will.

Both may be POTUS.

The problem is Romney exists only to make Obama
pRes_ _ent. Romney is ineligible like Obama
and supports ObamaCARE/RomneyCARE.

The GOP has NO chance with Bishop Romney.

Ronald Reagan was bad mouthed continuously by the press during the Presidential election of 1980. In October of 1980 his poll numbers were around 30% - he had very high negatives.

Reagan was elected President in November 1980, because the public finally had a chance to see and hear him themselves without the MSM filtering his message.

The same goes for Sarah Palin and Newt Gringrich.

Newt Gingrich has been smeared and lied about for a very long time, mostly by Washington insiders keen to derail his plans for changing how Washington does business and by Democratic Party operatives trying to divert attention from the serial rapist named William Jefferson Clinton.

Maybe she figured out people are just to fickle? One moment they are with you and the next they are not.

To bring it into sports, Doug Flutie my favorite QB said he does not read the papers even when good things are said about him, because he knew that the moment he had a bad game, it would be said of him that he was to short and that he had a weak arm or something.

Guess all the nastiness towards Palin worked in the end. Sad.

Way too simple an interpretation. Both Palin and Newt made their choices for their own personal reasons and we may never know all the dynamics. Newt stayed to try to thwart Romney, which I find noble. Especially after all the smears andother snubs because he's the only real conservative we have left. Just because someone stays in beyond the event horizon does not mean there isn't something good about it.
