A new Newsweek/Daily Beast Poll finds that America is facing a deepening level of racial division and polarization.
Majorities of both whites (72%) and blacks (89%) believe the country is divided by race, the Poll finds. But twice as many blacks (40%) as whites (20%) say it is very divided. And just 19 percent of whites say that racism is a big problem in America, vs. 60 percent of blacks.
Meanwhile, the killing of 17-year old Trayvon Martin has further polarized America along racial lines, the Newsweek/Daily Beast Poll finds. In the survey, whites are divided over whether they think Martins death was racially motivated. Thirty-five percent of whites say Martins death was racially motivated, while 30 percent say Zimmerman acted in self-defense and 35 percent are not sure. African-Americans, however, are convinced it was racially motivated (80% vs. 2%).
Whites also are divided on the question of whether Martin was targeted because he was a young black man41 percent say yes, while 34 percent say no and 21 percent are not sure. Blacks are convinced he was targeted because he was a young black man (85% vs. 4%).
There also is a significant split over President Obamas handling of the Trayvon Martin controversywith a majority (52%) of whites saying they disapprove of the way he has handled the shooting while only 38 percent approve.
Blacks say the oppositewith near unanimous (87% vs. 5%) approval for the presidents handling of the shooting.
Nearly four years after the election of the nations first African-American president, majorities of both whites and African Americans surveyed say that race relations in the country have either stayed the same or gotten worse. Sixty-three percent of whites and 58 percent of African-Americans say race relations have either stayed the same or worsenedwhile only 28 percent of whites and 38 percent of African-Americans say they have gotten better.
Similarly, on the question of how Obama has handled race relations since he became president, whites disapprove (47% vs. 41%) while blacks are overwhelmingly positive (84% vs. 8%).
And when asked whether or not Obama has been helpful or not in bridging the racial divide in the country, whites say not helpful (51%) while blacks say helpful (69%).
The Newsweek/Daily Beast Poll found that both whites and blacks agree that racial stereotyping still occurs in American society today and majorities of both whites (72%) and blacks (89%) say America is divided on the basis of race.
But blacks and whites have fundamentally different perspectives when it comes to frequency, severity, and longevity of racial discrimination blacks face.
Whites and blacks disagreeand disagree fundamentally when it comes to whenblacks will achieve racial equality with whites. While a clear majority of whites (65%) say that blacks have achieved or will soon achieve racial equality, blacks are much less optimistic about the state of black progress. Only 16 percent of blacks say they have already achieved racial equality and nearly half of blacks (47%) say that they will not achieve racial equality in their lifetime or will never achieve racial equality.
African Americans were particularly sensitive to the economic downturn and were much more likely than whites to say that the prolonged recession contributed significantly to more discrimination in employment and housing. Sixty-five percent of African-Americans surveyed said that the current economic situation today has played a role in promotion racial discrimination, compared to just 42% of whites.
And while seventy percent (70%) of whites think that blacks in America the same chance as whites to get housing they can afford, only 35 percennt of blacks agree.
Similarly, 70 percent of whites think blacks in America today have as good a chance as whites to get a job for which theyre qualifieda view shared by only one-quarter of blacks.
And while virtually all whites (92%) and blacks (95%) agree that racial profiling occurs at least some of the time, the two groups diverge over whether profiling happens all of the timea solid 63 percent of blacks say yes while less than one-quarter of whites agree.
Both whites and blacks agree that it is the responsibility of the federal government to make sure that the courts and the police treat minorities and whites equally. But the two groups disagree fundamentally over whether it is ever justified for police to take factors such as race ethnicity and overall appearance into consideration when making an arrest. A majority (56%) of whites say that it is at least sometimes justified for police to use factors such as race, ethnicity, and overall appearancea view shared by only 28% of blacks.
Nearly six times as many African-Americans as whites (29% vs. 5%) say they have been unfairly stopped by the police because of their race or ethnicity all or some of the time.
When asked whether the police and courts treat blacks the same as they treat whites in America today, 82 percent of whites say that police treat blacks the same as whites all or some of the time, and 86 percent say the same of the courts. A majority of blacks however, say that blacks are rarely or never treated equally by the police (53%) or the courts (52%).
The Newsweek/Daily Beast Poll was conducted by telephone between March 30 and April 1 from a random sample of 600 registered voters and a separate oversample of 400 registered African-American voters. The margin of error for the first group is plus or minus 4 percent while the margin of error for the second group is plus or minus 4.9 percent.

Surprise, surprise...
From the tone of this you would never get the idea that the MSM is primarily responsible through their actions.
Oh, Obama deserves a lot of credit, too. But if it were not for the grandstanding and fear-mongering by the MSM — who has constantly pushed the race button and thrown rhetorical gasoline on the resulting flames, people wouldn’t be developing a bunker mentality.
And that is exactly what is developing. People are concerned about their homes, their families, their lives. People see the New Black Panthers strutting around with their nightsticks and their berets and fear. People see racemongering by the MSM and start wondering just exactly when and where its going to blow up next.

There are a lot of loaded, misdirected and poorly worded questions in this “poll”. Typical. For example:
“But blacks and whites have fundamentally different perspectives when it comes to frequency, severity, and longevity of racial discrimination blacks face.”
What about the numerous examples of individual and ESPECIALLY government created and enforced racial discrimination that WHITES face? Starting with “Affirmative Action”.

People see racemongering by the MSM and start wondering just exactly when and where its going to blow up next. There is a credible report that neo-Nazis are now patrolling Sanford Florida saying that they are there to resist a potential black race riot. Nothing could be more pleasing to both Obama, Holder and the mainstream media or more destructive to the rule of law.
Almost certainly Zimmerman will now be arrested and probably indicted to pander to the mob. The rule of law is dissolving before our eyes. Obama whups up his base, the mainstream media makes money and feels righteous at the same time.
There is almost no question that most of this has been generated top-down, much like the Occupy Movement with a view toward the reelection of Barack Obama.
I cannot resist, it is time once again to recite Nathan Bedford's first Maxum of American politics:
All politics in America is not local but ultimately racial.

Which begs the question. To what end? Who wins what in this politic? Seems to me everyone loses. Except whom? What is the war and what do “they” ‘win’?
I have another definition of politics. Insanity.
What happens when the powerful have total control of the powerless? When the population has nothing left to lose? Do we fear death so much that we will serve rather than fight?

The
RACE BAITING, LAME Stream Media's at it again, trying to stir the pot.
But they don't say one word about their
Fabian Fascist ILLEGAL IMMIGRANT IN CHIEF's
attempts to start a RACE WAR.
Take notice of
how Barack Hussein Obama II reminds himself everyday, ... to play the "Race Card".
... in a hallway outside the Oval Office, he has placed a head-turning painting depicting one of the ugliest racial episodes in U.S. history.
Norman Rockwells The Problem We All Live With, installed in the White House last month, shows U.S. marshals escorting Ruby Bridges, a 6-year-old African-American girl, into a New Orleans elementary school in 1960 as court-ordered integration met with an angry and defiant response from the white community.
... His choice of the Rockwell painting was a more private statement. Obama has never mentioned it in a speech or public event. And while White House aides confirmed that Obama approved bringing it to the West Wing, they declined to discuss how the decision was made or why.
But in an interview with POLITICO, Bridges, now 56 and still living in New Orleans, said she began reaching out to the president last year through Sen. Mary Landrieu (D-La.), Rep. John Lewis (D-Ga.) and Massachusetts Gov. Deval Patrick to move the painting to the White House because she believed the image would resonate with Obama.
It did have a lot to do with this particular president, Bridges said. He is a president of mixed race. So I believe he is about the same things that I am. You cannot look at a person and judge him or her by the color of their skin.
I did feel if anyone would hang the painting, it would be him.
Last month, Bridges stopped by the White House to see the painting in its new though temporary home.
I think its fair to say that if it hadnt been for you guys, I might not be here, and we might not be looking at this together, Obama told her, according to a videotape on the White House website.
Bridges says the work conveys a message of integration and bringing people together, but on its surface, Rockwells painting depicts jarring cruelty, hatred and fear.
The N-word there it sure stops you, said William Kloss, an art historian and expert on the White House collections. Theres a realistic reason for having the graffiti as a slur, [but] its also right in the middle of the painting.
Its a painting that could not be hung even for a brief time in the public spaces [of the White House], Im pretty sure of that.
... It is jarring to see it in this piece of art, but
it provides the context of the time, said Roland Martin, an African-American radio and TV host and political commentator for CNN. When you see that word, you see her, you see the soldiers, you realize, I really get this.
... Still, at 3 feet high and nearly 5 feet wide, the painting is by far the most striking civil rights-related art in the White House. Rockwell painted the image in 1963, and it appeared on the cover of Look magazine in January 1964. ..."

We have discussed the impact of race on these threads many times. We noted that it shuts down debate and changes the entire landscape.
It is very Alinskyite. It is an emotional bomb the challenges the very legitimacy of government. It says you have no right to rule because you are racist. Saul Alinsky wanted to undermine the legitimacy of the existing government which is predicated on Lockean principles and substitute his own version. Race is one of the best levers to accomplish this because as soon as it is invoked reason shuts down and, above all, the followers of Alinskyite, like Barack Obama, cannot thrive in a rational environment.
In fact, reason itself cannot survive in the emotionally charged racist environment.
What end, you ask?
Rule or ruin. Or, more precisely, ruin to rule.

To post that picture by Rockwell is to exploit brilliantly a piece of political theater. Everyone who enters the Oval Office having seen that picture is placed at a moral disadvantage to the first African-American president.
50 years later it would be far more relevant to display a rendering of downtown Detroit. Obama is the beneficiary of the former and a contributing cause of the latter.

INSIDER: (Pauses)
As far as it takes. Were preparing for it.
I sure as hell hope America is too.
Like I told you
this election coming up
Brutal.
ULSTERMAN: What do you mean by we we are preparing for it?
And are you actually saying that Barack Obama would push for race riots to somehow win a presidential election?
That sounds
far fetched. Even for this administration.
INSIDER: Does it?
How so?
You need to take step back and see more of what has been happening in this country.
Its why this thing went from a concern about the partyto a serious concern about the country.
Why arent you seeing that?
ULSTERMAN: Just explain the race rioting.
I dont see how that would help Obama get re-elected.
It doesnt
I just dont see how that would work.
In fact it seems like just the opposite.
If we go from economic chaos to
whatever one would call it racial chaos
that doesnt help Obama.
So yeah I dont see what you are saying there.
INSIDER: (Leans back folds arms across chest)
You and too many g**d*mn Americans dont see it, so dont feel so bad.
You know, other world leaders see it. Putin. Sarkozy. Merkel. Harper
Barack Obama is incapable of anything remotely resembling leadership, but he is also quite capable of the kind of dangerous arrogance that the very worst leaders in history possessed. (Pauses)
Look, let me try and paint a picture for you a clearer picture of what Obama really is.If you were to step into the White House and see the man at work, or whatever the hell it is he calls it.
Its not the same as what some of his own people are calling it I know that for certain.
The jokes, the sneers that go on behind the presidents back. You want to see that picture?
The real Barack Obama?
Maybe then you might understand what the man is capable of really capable of.
ULSTERMAN: Go ahead.
INSIDER: Im at my desk here right? Were sitting here having this conversation.
How about we take a look at what the president would look like in the same situation?
Walk into that room that office of his on the 2nd floor.
He spends less and less time downstairs thats Daleys world now.
The president doesnt like the Oval Office much hes made that point repeatedly to more than a few at the White House.
He prefers to be upstairs, no suit. No shoes.
No joke
ULSTERMAN: (Interrupts) Shoes?
INSIDER: Yeah shoes. President Obama, when he is in his de facto office upstairs - the one that is closer to Jarretts own office,
and a short hop over to the residence,
he spends his time there often in shorts, or sweats, a t-shirt, and those sandal things
flip-flops.
There is a large screen television in there and thats where hours of his time are spent when he is actually at the White House.
Day in and day out. The First Lady rules the residence, and the president heads over to his 2nd floor West Wing study.
Starting around last spring, he started to take regular briefings in there.
And the instructions that went out on those briefings to the president were that they were to be most importantly brief.
Anything more than about 15 minutes is unacceptable to Obama.
So lets look through the eyes of someone heading into Barack Obamas upstairs office at the White House to give him a briefing.Maybe its on national security. Maybe the economy. Energy policy. Whatever doesnt matter.
The scenario being played out these days is pretty much the same regardless of the particulars. You knock on the door its always closed. Always.
Often you have to knock for some time before being given approval from inside to enter. The big screen will be on the volume loud. You can easily hear it from outside the door.
The sports channels are the ones most commonly playing, though sometimes the channel will be set to music, or Fox News.
Sometimes Valerie Jarrett might be there, but most often it is just the president and his personal aide.
A large leather chair will be facing the television its well worn. Not part of the White House furnishings but something the president must have brought in from back home.
Thats where youll most often find the President of the United States the most powerful man in the free f***ing world.
He often sits with one leg draped over one of the chairs arms and the other leg stuck straight onto the floor.
Shorts, sweats, a t-shirt, and like I said,no shoes or just those sandal things that so many of the younger people like to wear these days.
And that leg thats draped over an arm of the chair will be bopping up and down, like
like someone with a lot of nervous energy. Like a kid does.
And theres the smell of smoke hanging on the president. The guy never quit smoking that was all b*llsh*t. I told you that already.
In fact, theres one of those smokeless ash trays on the desk in there.
And that desk, its a mess. Magazines spread out all over it.Stupid sh*t too. Real low brow reading material the president is into.
People. Rolling Stone. Lots of those tabloid things.
The most common thread with this is its about the president.
If its about him, hes gonna read it. Good or bad doesnt matter.
If somebody is talking about him, hes reading it. Hes watching it. Whatever.
The guys self-obsession is off the f***ing charts.
So thats what you first see when you enter the room the upstairs office of President Obama.
Next youre gonna notice how small the guy looks.Really thin. He pads his suits up you know. The top end. The shoulders.
It became an actual issue during the 2008 campaign some of his handlers were saying it made his neck look too small.
Fact is, it made his neck look just like it is small.
The guy is scrawny. All knees and elbows sitting in that chair.
Sometimes he gets up when you come in, sometimes he remains seated and will just turn the volume on the TV down with the remote and say, What you got?
That foot is bouncing up and down while you give him the briefing, but he rarely looks over at you always looking at whatever is on the television.
If its Jarrett in the room, or the personal assistant, one of them is there to keep the time. Your time.
Dont go over that fifteen minutes.
And even if the president doesnt look like he hears a word youre saying, they are listening to everything.
Every g**d**n syllable coming out of your mouth, and if something is said they dont like, they jot down notes.
Been told its to use for the end of day summary they give the president their own version of what is important and what can be ignored
and who might need to be pushed down, or pushed out
or whatever.
So youre looking at the president, this skinny guy, whos ignoring you, whos dressed like some kind of f***ing frat boy wannabe,
with somebody else taking notes on what youre saying, and then you get up and walk out.
The president might acknowledge you on some days, give a little nod, maybe even a thank you,
but most often he just continues to look at the TV, bounce that foot on the chair,
his skin looking off-color, pale, the eyes out of focus, the hair a helleva lot more gray than is shown in public,
the wrinkles around the mouth far deeper
and the hands.
His f***ing hands are so
they are just these thin little stick digits. They are like these long-fingered womans hands.
And his wrists, you could wrap your own fingers all the way around those wrists again, so much like a womans hands. Almost freakish.
Certainly not the strong alpha-male type image that America was given during the 2008 campaign.
Thats who you see in the room the real Barack Obama. Pretty f***ing unsettling.
Those world leaders, they sensed this.
They saw through the façade and saw who was running the United States of America, and the word went out Dont count on this American president he doesnt have a f***ing clue.
And theyre right.
ULSTERMAN: So what? The president is a thin man. He has small hands.
What the hell does that have to do with-with
anything?
Or anything relevant to the 2012 election, or the scandal, or to
INSIDER: (Interrupts)Im trying to lay out the psychological foundation of the son-of-a-b*tch.
You think people might want to know what this man is really like?
How everything around him the whole f***ing image
its a charade. Its a lie.
He fooled me he fooled a whole lot of us.
And he is frightened every hour of every day that the country will find out.
But this realization, this little part of Obamas self-awareness, its getting beat down by the guys absolute arrogance
and when necessary, willingness to over-reach acceptable executive authority.
Yeah, its a lot more important than the fact he dresses like a slob when the cameras arent on,
or that he lies over and over again just because its convenientand the media continues to let him get away with it
its about how far he will go to keep the charade up, right?
How far, and who is he willing to throw under that bus?
Who can be sacrificed to keep up the lie that is Barack Obama?
To keep the scandals down? To keep people quiet?
To keep himself as the tool for the ones really calling the shots?
So will he stir up the race issue if it means guilting or scaring white voters to keep him in the White House?
Hell yes he will.
Hes been doing that his whole damn life!
You wanna say so what to that?
You wanna see this country torn apart by racebecause we have a president who sees it as a viable political tool?
Dont answer let me talk here.
Im laying some things out Ive been holding back on, so if you wanna hear it, let me talk.
Dont interrupt me with one of your little questions
The race card, the racial thing whatever its gonna be called, it is the number one asset this administration believes it has to win in 2012.
Their own polling data has shown that to be true over and over again.
But how far are they willing to push that? Race. The charges of racism?
I believe all the way if they have to.
And they are gonna get people stirred up.
And if Barack Obama doesnt win re-election,watch them stand back while the riots break out, and watch them mouth the words Burn baby burn.
I dont think they are willing to go that far, I know it.
If they cant have America, nobody will. Thats how big thats how important this election coming up is.
Even the people who pay attention to this stuff
they dont realize how big this is. How important to the country.
We are truly at a fork in the road here.
This administration is going to attempt whatever necessary to remain in power.Race. Intimidation. Media attacks. Division divide and f***ing conquer.
You notice how divisive the Republican primary campaigns have already started to become?
You think thats all occurring on its own? Hell no.
Tens of millions of dollars are already being spent getting conservatives, Republicans, Independents, whatever get them to attack each other.
Get them frustrated and lower their desire to vote for the eventual nominee.
You know, Republicans used to be the party that would unite behind the nominee when they were chosen it frustrated the hell out of us Democrats who were always b*tching over this or that right up until the election.
Thats not the case anymore, and your Republicans are much weaker because of it.
Ill say this, if Republicans dont get their sh*t together and vote for whoever is the nominee and I mean WHOEVER is the nominee,
then it will be another four years of Barack Obama running this country into the f***ing dirt and thats what we deserve.
If we are too stupid as a country to fix this mess
then so be it. Its over.
The America we know, the America we knew its over. Done.
And we will only have ourselves to blame.
Yes, I believe this

To think we destroyed them is a myth of Biblical proportions. We destroyed nothing. We allowed it to live to rise another day. In other places we supported it, coddled it, allowed it to enslave whole nations.
We allowed it, helped it, to spread like a cancer within and without. Where do you begin and when does it end?
To: MestaMachine
Epistemology.
Leftists, Barack Obama certainly among, operate pursuant to and epistemology utterly foreign to us. They do not see the world the way we see it. This is not simply a question of a couple of degrees off true North they see the world 180° at variance from the way we see it. With Obama the construction is relatively sophisticated, certainly expressed with a facile vocabulary. But when epistemology goes crazy such as it has in the Arab Street or in much of the African-American "community," the pathology can be extreme.
So what does Barack Obama intend to gain by dividing the country against itself? Reelection! But what will he say? He will tell us that he is fighting for justice. It is important to understand that he will believe it when he says it. The capacity of the human mind to rationalize its perceived self-interest is virtually infinite. If he has to, he will believe that it would be better for America to disintegrate if that's what it takes for him to bring "justice".
This is the way of all tyrants throughout the ages. There is always enough for them to skim and be personally very prosperous. There is an infinite capacity to rationalize evil.
I think it is naïve to expect the other side to see the world the way you and I do. I think the founding fathers had it about right, they saw man as fallen, not as perfectible, and therefore they designed the system to frustrate the Barack Obama's of this world. They did not assume that all men would be George Washington.
As a Christian, I believe that the only answer is redemption rather than logic.
As a conservative, I believe that we operate in the world according to the lights of the founding fathers.

Zero has set back race relations in this country by decades. I see people post this thought quite a bit. It infers that race relations were 'good' before Obmanation and it always leaves me confused.
While Obama is certainly a master at picking sides and the scab and he has brought race to the top the only way race relations were 'good' or improved or whatever is with The Black Caucus, The Hispanic Caucus, NAACP, LaRaza, Affirmative Action, African-American studies, 'Hate Crimes' 'white privilege' , thousands of race based political, lobbying and social organizations except white and a list that is longer than my arm.

We killed Communists every where they didn't surrender, during WW II.
But some escaped, and evil breeds evil.
So now we have to fight this battle again, as does every generation.
Very good questions! You start with the Bible and the Founding Fathers.
First, we must get Conservatives back in power in the House, the Senate, and in the Presidency.
You must weed out the liberal judges, and replace them with conservatives.
You must weed out corruption, and you can't do that without our Heavenly Father's help, and his Son, Jesus.
Then you do what our Founding Fathers wanted.
You put the Bible back in all our schools.
Read where
Congressional resolution, September 12, 1782, endorsing Robert Aitken's Bible requested and approved
" bibles for our schools and families, and for the publick worship of God in our churches. "
Then you go to the
Communist Goals, Congressional Record--Appendix, pp. A34-A35, January 10, 1963 and UNDO them or REVERSE them.
Now realize that this will take several generations to do.
But we must return to our roots, and our God.
David Barton and the
Wall Builders Foundation needs to be placed in charge of our educational system.
