On Wednesday, former Florida Governor and Republican Party heavyweight Jeb Bush endorsed Mitt Romney for the 2012 GOP presidential nomination. But some believe the Bush endorsement may actually have more to do with Sarah Palin (and her tacit endorsements of Newt Gingrich) than Mitt Romney.
"I am endorsing Mitt Romney for our Party¹s nomination," Bush announced Wednesday. "We face huge challenges, and we need a leader who understands the economy, recognizes more government regulation is not the answer, believes in entrepreneurial capitalism and works to ensure that all Americans have the opportunity to succeed."
To state categorically that some in the Bush family are not wild about Sarah Palin isn't a rumor. It isn't speculation. And it isn't political hearsay designed to sell a book. The Bushes are seemingly not fond of Sarah Palin in the least. And the feeling, it appears, is mutual.
In the fall of 2010, CNN's Larry King asked former First Lady Barbara Bush what she thought of Sarah Palin.
I sat next to her once," Mrs. Bush responded. "[I] thought she was beautiful, and I think shes very happy in Alaska... And I hope shell stay there.
During the same interview, former President George H.W. Bush took aim at Palin's Tea Party backers....

I stand with Sarah.
“I am endorsing Mitt Romney for our Party¹s nomination,” Bush announced Wednesday. “We face huge challenges, and we need a leader who understands the economy, recognizes more government regulation is not the answer, believes in entrepreneurial capitalism and works to ensure that all Americans have the opportunity to succeed . . . AND WILL CHOOSE ME AS HIS RUNNING MATE.”
Establishment butt kicking? You betcha!
Romney sure has a way of attracting scum to support him doesn’t he..I’d rather support Sarah Palin then Jeb Bush. Enough of this RINO BS I a sick of these elitist scum trashing us behind our backs
Just another hack using Sarah’s name to get people to click on his silly article.
Really, she should charge royalties for the use of her name.
Maybe also a little political mischief, reminding Palin fans how much the Romniac establishment detests them, to make sure they sit out this November.
Jeb is an idiot.
“....former Florida Governor and Republican Party heavyweight Jeb Bush endorsed Mitt Romney”
He is a 250 pound heavyweight. I wish he would shut up and spend some time at the gym.
NO ONE WILL VOTE FOR ROMNEY except Democrats and Dog Abusers:
Mitt Romney wins much coveted Jimmy Carter endorsement
Gore Praises Romney's 'Climate Protection Plan'
Carville(D):
"It's a feel-good story, this Romney thing.
Romney is an ascendant guy."
Sen. John Kerry (D) to Don Imus on RomneyCARE:
"I like this health care bill".
Sen. Hillary Clinton (D) on RomneyCARE:
"To come up with a bipartisan plan in this polarized environment is commendable."
Jeb Bush is about as appealing as a 70 year old K-Ration, Sarah will back-hand his RINO ass and send him to bed without any dessert.
I stand with Sarah!
To Hell with the GOP-NEOWHIGS!
If by some miracle of a brokered convention the opportunity comes, she had better step up and grab the bull by the horns.
Thats the Bushs' kind of 'conservative'.
Yeah; heavyweight, just like Chris Christie.
Two RINO Establishment suck-asses, who are no more good for the Constitution's re-instatement than the a-hole in the White Hut now.
Loser.....he's gonna be Romney-the-RINO's VP pick.
Said hack is actually writing about the Palin vs. Bush rivalry in book form. It’s on Amazon.
Best,
Chris
If you can judge a person by their enemies, then Sarah Palin is doing pretty well.
We face the worst crisis since at least the Civil War. We need a fearless leader we can all rally around enthusiastically. She could have been the one. But the way she withdrew left a lot of scars on her supporters. My $100 advance copy of “The Undefeated” arrived a couple of days before she unceremoniously withdrew. So much for “UNdefeated”.
At least some of the smears that ultimately brought down Palin had Romney surrogates as the source. Romney has successfully smeared all comers, but his slimy tactics have alienated the base. He just can’t close the deal, and the wreckage he has left in his wake means he probably never will. He’s still the odds on favorite to win the nomination, but it won’t be a united party behind him.
That said, it’s interesting to see how the attacks on Palin have started back up. There is no need to attack someone who has already been destroyed. Perhaps the party elite are starting to worry a deadlocked convention might turn to her in spite of everything they have done to destroy her.
Wow. Went and looked at Amazon. That guy has cranked out a lot of books.
Does anyone smell desperation? It is obvious Romney needs all the help he can get!
she had better step up and grab the bull by the horns...
That isn’t the piece of anatomy that needs to be grabbed to get a RINO’s attention.
I used to really like Jeb. Two things bothered me. First, during the death of Terry Schiavo, the fact that he didn’t do more. I know, he thought he did all he could within the law. But he could have at least stood with the family, maybe shared a prayer with them during the vigil. Something.
That was when I thought, the magic is gone from this man. He may not know it yet.
The final confirmation for me was when he attacked Arizona for its efforts to enforce immigration law in the face of an epidemic of kidnappings among illegals, and murders of ranchers by illegals. I expect him to understand rule of law. He blew it again.
So, there is no excitement here for a Jeb Bush presidency. If Romney wants to win over the conservatives, Jeb is the wrong guy, smart and articulate though he certainly is. Romney may not care about that, though; he probably calculates that conservatives have no choice but to back him. These guys have purposely distanced themselves from conservatives, they are surrounded by people who have heaped scorn on us, Palin, the tea party, but they expect us to line up and vote them in like good little kids.
She will. I think that has been her plan all along. We just have to get to the brokered convention. If we do, I do believe she has a plan to come out the nominee. God willing.
