Sarah Palin doesn’t deserve this. Neither does any other similarly situated public figure, whether on the political right, left or in the middle. But worthiness has nothing to do with this, not when there’s a chance of driving up book sales and bringing down the celebrity you despise at the same time.
Enter Joe McGinniss.
His new book, “The Rogue: Searching for the Real Sarah Palin,” claims that the former Alaska governor and GOP vice presidential candidate had a tryst in 1987 with basketball star Glen Rice when he was in Alaska to play in a tournament with his University of Michigan team. Whether it’s true or false, the story is making the rounds. It’s a shame.
If the book was supposed to be about Sarah Palin, then it should have been about Palin.
This episode isn’t. There was no Sarah Palin in 1987. At the time of the Thanksgiving Great Alaska Shootout basketball tournament at the University of Alaska in Anchorage nearly 25 years ago, the 23-year-old woman who allegedly hooked up with Rice was an unmarried TV sports reporter named Sarah Heath.
This has nothing to do with today’s Sarah Palin. It’s irrelevant and none of our business.
To justify McGinniss’s prying eyes, my Post colleague Erik Wemple, who blogs on the media, noted that Palin had indicated in a 2006 Eagle Forum questionnaire that she supported funding abstinence-only education programs instead of teaching sex-education programs. “Explicit sex-ed programs will not find my support,” Palin reportedly wrote in the conservative group’s questionnaire.....

There are decent liberal members of the press? Which ones have started to be fair towards her? The only one I am aware of is Greta Van Susteran who has always been very fair towards Sarah Palin..its what I like most about Greta, she is fair, yes she is a Democrat but she is always fair..I think another reason why the left is SO terrified of Sarah becoming President is because they always wanted to associate strong women with liberalism..when one comes around and she is a Conservative they are shocked, aren’t all strong women supposed to be liberal? That is how they see it, so they want Sarah destroyed so she never gets the chance to become the first Conservative woman President
I don’t get the whole notion that if(Yes IF, even though I dont believe the story AT ALL) Sarah Palin had sex with a black man when she was single that somehow makes her a hypocrite. It makes no sense, she was SINGLE at the time, isnt that called dating..now if Sarah Palin had come out and said something about not having sex before marriage Ok maybe a different story but she has never said that..and OMG, the whole she supposedly slept with a black guy story, yeah..so..even “if” true, so what..Sarah Palin is not a racist, never was, if she was with a black man before she was with Todd I see no issue with that at all..but its kind of the OJ Simpson syndrome, when Nicole and Ron were murdered I remember hearing some African American women call up the local radio station here saying how she deserved it because “That is what she gets for being with a black man.”
McGinnis is a pervert and a sleazebag, I’d like to know why no one in the media has asked him how he can justify peering in the window of a 7 year old girl’s bedroom..what kind of juicy gossip did he hope to get out of Piper’s bedroom..its just sick and McGinnis is a sick freak

Personally I think any run for POTUS is over. A person can only stand so much but that doesn’t mean she can’t be a huge part....
If this affects her decision about running, it will only make it more likely that she will decide to run. She won’t be defeated by crap like this. She is a lot stronger than many of her supporters. If sex is the standard, then have we asked Rick Perry about his premarital years? He was single for quite a while. What about Mitt and Herman?
This book and its contents are silliness and won’t have any impact on her viability as a candidate.

Having myself once been the target extremely minuscule in comparison - I'd have to say you get a bunker mentality and end up longing for a normal life.

I agree with that- there is a hierarchy in demon-hood, but there is also a structure on earth before you get to the spritual wickedness hovering above the earth- the prince of the power of the air.
The “powers and principalities” are indeed spiritual, even on the earth, but they are not neccesarily non-human.

Amen. Your post recalls Breitbart's righteous "I see eunuchs" speech in The Undefeated. Perry, Romney or any of the rest of the crew could gain instant goodwill from millions of Palin supporters by standing up for her. Like Levin said yesterday, conservatives "cannot leave our people on the battlefield to fend for themselves."
I 'm blood-spitting mad and sick to my stomach over what's being done to her. Prayers for her and her family.
