Rep. Dan Lungren has decided against challenging fellow Republican Congressman Tom McClintock and instead will run in what is a swing district that extends from Elk Grove to Folsom, his campaign manager said today.
"Unless something changes, he will run in the 7th Congressional District and is confident in doing so," Lungren adviser Rob Stutzman told The Bee.
Lungren had toyed with running against McClintock, the more conservative of the two, in the 2012 GOP primary for the 4th Congressional District.

Lungren’s my congessman, and McClintock was when I lived a couple miles from here. Both good, though Lungren is more of an establishement guy, but still good on 99% of the issues. But hasn’t Lungren’s district always run from Elk Grove to Folsom? I guess they changed the boundries to make it harder for Pubs to win.
Ole SKS confiscator Dan Lungrin, this liar / pos is still a republican trying to hang on in CA politics. He would’ve been really embarrassed because McClintock would have buried him. Too bad he dropped the idea to run against Tom, it would’ve been fun to watch.
If Lungren hadn’t been a sweaty pig at the debates and run a better campaign we may never have had Grey Davis.
