Former Republican vice presidential candidate Sarah Palin, her husband Todd and other members of her family were in Springfield Sunday morning to tour the Abraham Lincoln Presidential Museum.
Shortly after 11 a.m., museum officials posted pictures of the visit on Facebook. Palin's political action committee website also made mention of her stop in Springfield.
NBC News' Alexandra Moe also posted a photo on Twitter of Palin's bus passing the Statehouse.
According to news reports, the visit came a day after the Palins spent time visiting a historic site dedicated to another Republican president from Illinois, Ronald Reagan.
Saukvalley.com reported the Palins' "One Nation" bus tour took them to Reagan's boyhood home in Dixon and his alma mater, Eureka College.
Palin, who some believe may pursue the Republican nomination for president, was in Iowa earlier last week ahead of the GOP straw polls.
** Did you see the Palins in Springfield? Tell us about it in comments below.
Gee, wonder why she’s spending so much time in Illinois???? ROTFLMAO! She’s genius!
I think she really is on the fence and is trying to find inspiration from the experiences of two past presidents.
.
There's a Lincoln state park near Evansville ~ and while they're at it they can do a 3 hour RT drive up to Brown County and visit a couple of gravesites considered sacred to many Alaskans. That'l take them through some of his father's cousin's country. Pick up a few votes.
Where did you go to school? Abraham Lincoln was born in Kentucky. He himself claimed Illinois as his home.
That land is still in Indiana.
Gotta ask: what are you referring to? “3 hour RT drive up to Brown County and visit a couple of gravesites considered sacred to many Alaskans”. Thanks.
Didn’t Lincoln live in all 3 states at one time or another?
Actuallly Lincoln was born in Kentucky.
This great USA tour by the Palins is getting boring.
Wish she would announce already.
Lincoln was born in Kentucky, but his family moved to Indiana when he would have been around eight. His mother died there when he would have been ten. Apparently, he moved to Illinois in 1830, so he lived in Indiana from ages 8-22.

Makes Lincoln FROM Indiana ~
Not to belabor a point, but I didn’t say that he never lived in Indiana. I was responding to the posters claim that Lincoln was FROM Indiana.
There are OTHER PEOPLE up in Brown County, and over in Monroe County whose gravesites are revered by people in Alaska close to Todd Palin and his family.

I think it is leading up to the greatest scam ever.
She even has Obozo starting his own bus trip.
She is out there to draw media attention away from the other R candidates.
The longer she holds out, the crazier the crazies will act.
Kind of like the ‘designated drunk’.
In case you don’t know, the ‘designated drunk’, is the guy that doesn’t drink, who leaves the bar first at closing time, staggers to his car, fumbles with his keys and when he leaves the parking lot, the local fuzz watching the bar follow him and pull him over. While they are questioning him, the REAL drunks pile into their cars and go home, in the opposite direction.
The parallel with Obama is uncanny.
Obama was FROM KENYA - he just “lived” in Illinois.
I wouldn't be surprised if Obama went to the Ford Museum and commandeered the Rosa Parks Bus for his upcoming tour.
He has already compared himself to MLK, so nothing he would do would surprise me.
Hey—that’s really clever—the Designated Drunk.
You may be right.
I’ll vote for her anyway. I just can’t wait until her campaign gets started.
The whole 2012 gig needs some spicing up!
Lincoln was born in Hardin County, Kentucky.
