Former Minnesota governor Tim Pawlenty continued his focus on reports that Minnesota Rep. Michele Bachmann suffers from serious migraines, saying Friday that his campaign is not pushing the story.
I checked with our staff, Mr. Pawlenty said Friday. They said they did not push the Bachmann story. In fact they reminded me that the sources for the story were her, apparently, her former staff.
Mr. Pawlentys comment comes just days after The Daily Caller reported the story, citing sources close to Ms. Bachmann.
All of the candidates I think are going to have to be able to demonstrate they can do all of the job all of the time, Mr. Pawlenty told reporters earlier this week. Theres no real time off in that job.
The former Minnesota governor clarified his remarks Thursday, telling Fox News that his comments were taken out of context.
You know, I think its mostly a sideshow, Greta. Ive observed Congresswoman Bachmann. Ive never seen her have a medical condition or impairment that would seem to be a concern, Mr. Pawlenty said.
Im confident that our campaign did not push that story, and again it appears to have been sourced to her former staff, Mr. Pawlenty added.
Meanwhile, Ms. Bachmann defended her candidacy, saying reports are overblown and that she remains healthy.
I have prescription medication that I take whenever symptoms arise and they keep the migraines under control, Ms. Bachmann said in statement. Let me be abundantly clear my ability to function effectively has never been impeded by migraines and will not affect my ability to serve as Commander in Chief.
petty man.
It’s spin. Save it all until next year.
What a jerk!
Tim Who?
Pawlenty is just not up to it is he? I’m now wondering why the word ever circulated in the first place that he would be. Heck, once Daniels wifey made him drop out, Timbo was suppose to be the guy, in a walk, who could topple ole Romney and take the nomination. Here he is bogged down at like 2%, campaign penniless, mired down in Bachman’s headaches for Pete’s sake. Kind of pitiful.
And this, in turn, disqualifies Mister Pawlenty from consideration, as he is too Obamaesque (not adult or diplomatic enough for the job.)
.
So how about Pawlenty’s hemorrhoids? (the ones he causes)
Beating the dead horse ping? /s =.=
He’s getting desperate; though I don’t think this is the way to turn his campaign back from death’s door. Going negative, and being the first one to do it, won’t sit well with voters.
Wow! A congresswoman was treated and released the same day ... one year ago! This is really news!
This guy is a joke and a twit.
Get out of the wAy idiot.
- May 2010, Bachmann missed a day of votes.
- July 2010, Bachmann missed eight House votes while being treated and released for a migraine by a Washington hospital. According to her own account, it took her four days to recover.
- October 2010, seeked urgent care in New York.
- Bachmanns campaign declined to give specific details of any such incidents.
Bachmann may have migraines but Pawlenty is now a geniune PAIN IN THE ASS. He’s off my list.
The guy is a disgusting creep.
He's the kind of sick bastard who would make nasty jokes about Palin's kid with Down syndrome.
Shut your yap Tim Pawlenty. If you can’t speak about the issues, stick a sock in it.
He can’t attack Obama effectively, so he tries to attack Michelle Bachmann instead?
Impressive.
Bye bye, Timmy.
This is ridiculous. Migraines take virtually NO time from your job if you can take the triptan meds. At the first sign, you take one and you will be fine. No drowsiness, nothing.
Every Presidential candidate can get flus and stomach viruses. A stomach virus will put ANY president out of commission for 24 hours. A sprained ankle will distract any president with pain. To worry about a migraine is silly.
