Why Sarah Palin is Running for President
Yahoo! News / Associated Content ^ | June 30, 2011 | Mark Whittington

Posted on 06/30/2011 3:25:33 PM PDT by 2ndDivisionVet

In the wake of the official premiere in Pella, Iowa, of her biographical film "The Undefeated," former Alaska Gov. Sarah Palin is still keeping people guessing. "Will she or won't she?" Run for president, that is.

The fact that the question is even asked should contain within it an answer. But to further elaborate, Nicole Coulter (no relation to Ann_Coulter) offers "Six Clues Palin is Running for President."

The clues are: "1 -- For what reason would Mrs. Palin insert herself into the 2010 election cycle? Why go out of her way to 'endorse' local candidates all over the United States? And mostly TEA Party and grassroots conservative candidates?

"2 -- For what reason would Mrs. Palin take her entire family on a 'bus tour' of historic sites around the United States? The key here is the BUS. If she wanted to tour these sites, she could easily do it in her family vehicle. Why stir up all the attendant media coverage?

"3 -- For what possible reason would Mrs. Palin need a movie about her political career? Remember, she had her staff approach Mr. Bannon about making some 'short' segments. It was Mr. Bannon who made the decision to make a 2-hour movie, using his own money. Why didn't she just say no?

"4 -- Why is she supporting this movie with appearances all over the United States? What is the point of traveling all over the U.S., generating press coverage everywhere, and shaking hands and speaking with people, voters, in every locale?

"5 -- Why are there O4P organizations in over_30_states, especially in all of the early primary states? Why didn't Mrs. Palin just tell these people to stop? Is she that callous, that she would allow these people to waste their time and energy in this manner?(continued)

Hope Sarah Palin runs and becomes the next president.

Drill baby Drill! We are running out of energy and oil thanks to the democrats/marxists’ ban on using our oil, oil shale, coal , nuclear etc.

I'm glad you can read her mind ...

It does not take a "mind reader" to understand that Sarah Palin is "cashing in".

April 15, 2010: Sarah Palin income 12 million dollars since leaving office

Iowa Republicans wince at Sarah Palin's $100K speaking fee

Proclaiming to be a conservative, then repeating the leftist talking points on a conservative pro/Palin forum ....

How, exactly, are the rules laid down by Sarah Palin herself at her book signing at the Mall of America ("You are required to buy Bristol's book if you want me to sign my book.") "leftist talking points"? Are you actually that irrational?

Bristol Palin with Special Guest Sarah Palin Book Signing Wednesday, June 29, 2011 5 p.m. Rotunda

"4. You must have a copy of “Not Afraid of Life: My Journey So Far” in order to purchase a copy of “America by Heart” and/or “Going Rogue” signed by Sarah Palin."

Since when has "conservative" become synonymous with belonging to a Cult of Personality that is more infatuated with Sarah Palin than a 13 year girl is with Justin Bieber?

When I signed up on Free Republic over eleven years ago, the Free Republic home page did not declare that it was a site dedicated to the future irrational adoration of a mortal politician.

Eleven years ago, Lakeshark, true conservatives did not wallowed in mindless Cults of Personality. The mindless adoration of a single individual has never been the trait of a true American conservative. Such conduct typified monarchies, religious cults and dictatorships.

A true conservative, Lakeshark, does not allow in an adolescent crush on a female politician if it facilitates the reelection of Barack Hussein Obama.

Not even Sarah Palin herself wants the GOP nomination because, unlike you, she has the common sense and ability to understand reality. To an irrational Cult of Personality member like you, even a FOX News poll must be a " leftist talking points".

FOX News Poll (February 7-9, 2011)

Question 3: I am going to read you a list of names. Tell me if you think that person would make a good President or not.

Sarah Palin:

.................YES.........NO.......DK.....Never heard of

ALL...........23%.......72%.........4%.......1%

Dem ...........7%........87%........5%.......1%

Rep ...........40%.......56%.......3%.......1%

Ind ...........25%........69%.......3%.......1%

Sarah Palin, Lakeshark, has far more sense than you do. Her actions so far, in regards actually trying to win the GOP nomination, are based on reality. She is not running herself. She is talking up somebody that can actually win in November of 2012.

So, far the most conservative potential candidate that can actually DEFEAT Obama is Governor Perry. Sarah Palin, unlike you, is smart enough and rational enough to realize that.

MAY 31, 2011 .... Palin plugs Perry: "I really like him" .... Unprompted, Sarah Palin brought up Rick Perry's name yesterday as a strong presidential candidate. "I think he would be a fine candidate.... we have a lot in common. I really like him.

Governor Sarah Palin's Endorsement of Governor Rick Perry

"That's why I am supporting Governor Rick Perry for re-election. He does what is right regardless of whether it is popular. He walks the walk of a true conservative. And he sticks to his guns – and you know how I feel about guns!" ...... Sarah Palin, January 17, 2009

Are you so totally immersed in your mindless and irrational Sarah Palin Cult of Personally that you consider Sarah Palin's advocacy of Governor Rick Perry as "leftist talking points"?

Gosh, that was as intelligent as your first note....

I have to hand it to you, two of the dumbest posts on FR in a month on one thread.

Do they call you Gollum, by any chance?

"Paul"

**Snickering uncontrollably** Nice company Mr P........

Two totally different issues, Lakeshark. Logic is not your strong suit.

Hugo Chavez was just operated for cancer and is anti-cancer just like you are, just like crz is and just like I am.

Since we are all in the same "nice company" in regards to the cancer issue, what does that mean about all other issues.

Absolutely squat.

For future reference, Lakeshark, in logic, that silly tactic is called the "Bad Company Fallacy".

Am I a supporter of Ron Paul?

No.

Political positions aside, Ron Paul's chances of winning the general election against Obama are the same chances that Sarah Palin has: Absolutely ZERO.

Forget it. You have to be talking to a rational person to debate. The biddiba is not a rational person as lots of Palin supporters?..are.
What they fail to realize is, that, they are running people away from Palins potential run.
Fact is, I know who I might support, but I do know who I might not support no matter what. AND I will show these to EVERYONE. I WILL pull support away from Palin.
Best thing for Palins people to do IF she runs is, to run these assholes out of her campaign ASAP.
Wonder why I put the question mark behind there? Could be there are plants like the Biddiba that are inside trying to do damage to her chances..if she runs.
As for Ron Paul..maybe, to old, to valuable in the Congress and I dont agree with his foreign policy much at all. His son may be another matter. I cant support Romney. So..I am still thinking.

.... on a conservative pro/Palin forum ..... Stupid? Deranged? You betcha you are!

In case you are still irrationally believing that Free Republic is nothing but a “Pro-Palin” forum, Lakeshark, this was posted by JimRob today:

Posted on Friday, July 01, 2011 10:13:29 AM by Jim Robinson

“We now have conservatives Bachmann and Cain officially in the race fending off RINO Romney; and Palin and Perry could possibly jump in. My hopes are with Palin, but if she decides not to run I could be happy with Bachmann or Cain. Also, if Palin does not run but Perry does, he'd probably suck all the air out of the race. Either way, Palin, Bachmann, Cain or even Perry would all be excellent alternatives to Obama the commie. Anyone but RINO Romney the big government chief architect of CommieCare! …… Posted on Friday, July 01, 2011 10:13:29 AM by Jim Robinson

==================================

Did you get that, Lakeshark?

The current mission of Free Republic is not to irrationally venerate Sarah Palin come hell or high water. The current mission of Free Republic is to defeat the Marxist Barack Hussein Obama.

That has been my position all along: Barack Hussein Obama MUST be defeated by a conservative in 2012. If a candidate cannot defeat Obama in the general election, I do not support that candidate as I have absolutely no desire to guarantee Obama reelection.

JimRob, Sarah Palin and I are all on the same page in regards to Governor Perry. We all believe that Rick Perry is an extremely strong candidate that, in Jim’s words, will “probably suck all the air out of the race”. He would also, in JimRob’s words, be an “excellent alternative to Obama the commie”.

But, do not allow reality to interrupt your obsession with one single individual. Keep on thinking that Sarah Palin is the only possible option and that anybody else that could possibly consider anybody except Sarah Palin must be “deranged”.

Yes, Lakeshark, for not believing that the Sarah Palin is the One and Only option for 2012, JimRob, Sarah Palin and I are all "deranged". Whatever you say.

This is not a debate to convince the members of the Cult of Personality. They are beyond convincing.

This is about educating other conservatives that read Free Republic.

Do not allow the obsessed to intimidate you into thinking that being a conservative or being a member of Free Republic requires that you must irrationally believe that Sarah Palin is the One and Only answer in 2012.

Free Reublic is not a forum dedicated solely to the veneration of one single politician. It never has been and it still isn't.

See Post 108, above.

For someone who thinks he's smart and logical, you are dumber than a post.

I dare you to find a post by me that says "no one but Palin". Go ahead, show one.

You're the one with the problem, you have an "anybody but" Palin mentality, and you show nothing but closed mindedness and pettiness in most of your posts, and yes no logic and lots of stupidity.

Only @ssholes like you don't know they are.........

If you are not a "no one but Palin" type, then why do you automatically accuse anybody that does not believe that Palin is Practically Perfect in Every Way of spreading "leftist talking points"?

Has it ever occurred to you that if a liberal or a conservative criticizes, say, Arnold Schwarzenegger, for knocking up the maid, that criticism does not become a "conservative talking point" because a conservative points out the obvious and it does not become a "leftist talking point" because a leftist points out the obvious?

Sarah Palin has been charging $100,000 per speech to even the Tea Party and Iowa Republicans. No money = No mesage. With that formula, she racked up $12 millions by April, 2010.

She has been "cashing in" and it is obvious.

However, the "Nobody But Palin" crowd tolerates absolutely no criticism of Palin.

The most nostalgic rational Southerner can criticize Robert E. Lee's decision to mount a frontal attack at Pickett's Charge but the "Nobody But Palin" crowd tolerates absolutely no criticism of Palin.

The most conservative rational Reagan admirer can criticize Reagan for making a mistaking in granting amnesty to 3 million illegal aliens but the "Nobody But Palin" crowd tolerates absolutely no criticism of Palin.

Why would you call Free Republic a "Pro/Palin" forum and accuse somebody of being "deranged" if they dare to say that, like any other mere mortal, Palin is not perfect?

To be honest, I have not memorized you so I have no idea if you have ever deviated from the Palin Adoration Party Line.

However, if any criticism whatsoever of Palin by others automatically brings out the accusations by you, as on this thread of "deranged" or on other threads of "PDS!, PDS!, PDS!, PDS!", then it is safe to say that you are a card-carrying member of the "Nobody But Palin" Club.

That last post of yours, was extraordinary for someone who thinks he is steeped in logic and intelligence. It's so opposed to those two attributes, the irony is just dripping.

You accuse me of automatically accuse(ing) anybody that does not believe that Palin is Practically Perfect in Every Way of spreading "leftist talking points"?

The unfortunate thing for your theory is that it is not true, however, I do enjoy putting those like you in your place (and the other moron). You deserve the accusation of using left wing talking points from what I've seen of your posts. You spam up Palin threads with that crap all the time and have been doing it for a long time.

I find it incredible that someone who claims to be conservative spends this much time spreading so much hate and disinformation about one of conservatives best spokespeople, best organizers, one who perhaps brings up the finest rallying points for the conservative cause. I have no problem with those that disagree or don't like this or that, or who have honest disagreements, but good grief, you are so beyond that and frankly you should be ashamed. It tells me you are either no conservative or you have a deep psychological problem somewhere.

At the end of your post you say To be honest, I have not memorized you so I have no idea if you have ever deviated from the Palin Adoration Party Line.

Do you have any idea how illogical and contradictory those two paragraphs are? I dare you to read them and then go look in the mirror and talk to yourself abaout how smart you are. I get the feeling you have no idea what you sound like, what you actually say, and how unthinking and illogical you really are.

Go pound sand, I have no interest in engaging a fool such as yourself. I won't reply (so little time, no time to deal with fools), so enjoy yourself.
