Why Sarah Palin is Running for President
Yahoo! News / Associated Content ^ | June 30, 2011 | Mark Whittington

Posted on 06/30/2011 3:25:33 PM PDT by 2ndDivisionVet

In the wake of the official premiere in Pella, Iowa, of her biographical film "The Undefeated," former Alaska Gov. Sarah Palin is still keeping people guessing. "Will she or won't she?" Run for president, that is.

The fact that the question is even asked should contain within it an answer. But to further elaborate, Nicole Coulter (no relation to Ann_Coulter) offers "Six Clues Palin is Running for President."

The clues are: "1 -- For what reason would Mrs. Palin insert herself into the 2010 election cycle? Why go out of her way to 'endorse' local candidates all over the United States? And mostly TEA Party and grassroots conservative candidates?

"2 -- For what reason would Mrs. Palin take her entire family on a 'bus tour' of historic sites around the United States? The key here is the BUS. If she wanted to tour these sites, she could easily do it in her family vehicle. Why stir up all the attendant media coverage?

"3 -- For what possible reason would Mrs. Palin need a movie about her political career? Remember, she had her staff approach Mr. Bannon about making some 'short' segments. It was Mr. Bannon who made the decision to make a 2-hour movie, using his own money. Why didn't she just say no?

"4 -- Why is she supporting this movie with appearances all over the United States? What is the point of traveling all over the U.S., generating press coverage everywhere, and shaking hands and speaking with people, voters, in every locale?

"5 -- Why are there O4P organizations in over_30_states, especially in all of the early primary states? Why didn't Mrs. Palin just tell these people to stop? Is she that callous, that she would allow these people to waste their time and energy in this manner?(continued)

I’m convinces that the obsession and intensity on both sides is due to the fact that we know the country [as it was intended] is at stake.
One side wants to restore it.
One side wants to transform it.

But I'd love to do all the stuff she's doing now without the downside of getting elected president. Who wouldn't?

A lot of the stuff she is doing now goes away if she doesn't run.

How come she didn’t act like a creep in her e-mails, if that’s what the woman is all about? How was she to know that the whole world would be eavesdropping? And having Trig, believe me, is not about any financial windfall. X, you’re confused, with all due respect.

You know nothing. Go back and lookat my prior Palin posts since Osama Weaseled his way in. Not ‘rant’ just fact.

Oh please - I know nothing? No, I'm not going to waste time reading all of your previous responses about Palin.

Just because you are impatient doesn't mean Sarah is doing anything wrong. So ridiculous. She'll announce, one way or the other, when she is ready and no sooner.

I don't see the point of your posting -- it's like that of a 5 year old; "if I don't get my way now, I'm going to vote for Michelle, so there!"

Grow up.

She’s cashin in as much and as soon as possible.

It's almost like there is a team of Romney/Obama trolls who always post something like that at the top of a Palin thread. I can't imagine anyone meaning it sincerely, but I'll respond as if it was meant honestly. I am financially comfortable, on the same scale as Palin or perhaps a bit more so, and I can assure you that money is irrelevant at that level except as a tool to facilitate progress toward what you want to accomplish in life. Palin isn't going for her 15th million to cash in, and she certainly isn't stupid enough to do it in ways that cost her money if she wanted to cash in.

Palin is preparing to run for President of the United States, but not for money, not for power, and not for fame. She will be running because she has been blessed by God with the talent that America needs, and because the country that she wants her children to spend their lives in is facing the greatest danger in our history. I imagine that she would rather not go through the campaign and expose her family to the pure evil that will be directed at them, but she has to bow to duty unless a candidate emerges who is both conservative and can win. Palin loves her family and our country, and it's only the danger to the later that will make her expose her family to what is coming. The idea that she would do that to her children for mere money is disgusting (but I'm sure that is the intent, isn't it?).

I just saw the movie tonight and I think she’s running. I hope she’s running.

Even if she’s not, she will stimulate debate in the Republican party and that’s a good thing. She will show little girls that women can be important leaders. And she’ll continue to reside in the melons of the lefties. It’s all good!

How does endorsing numerous candidates in 2010 and a bus tour of historical sites amount to "cashing in" when both those things cost her money?

As any businessman knows, it costs money to hype your product. In Sarah Palin's case, the product that is being hyped is the Sarah Palin™ brand.

The more "in the news" Sarah Palin is, the more money that rolls in.

April 15, 2010: Sarah Palin income 12 million dollars since leaving office

As the saying goes, "You have to spend money to make money."

As Newt Gingrich and Donald Trump can tell you, one of the best ways to hype your brand is to pretend to run for Prsident.

After praising Palin, Coulter goes on to say that she does not think that Palin will run for president. Hannity counters by saying that Coulter is "unnecessarily narrowing the field" and that Palin has publicly said she is still considering a run. It is at this point that Coulter reveals, "I think she's saying that because she also said Newt Gingrich told her you can get higher speaking fees if you pretend you are running for President."

Sarah Palin was at the Mall of America (largest mall in the U.S.) on Wednesday, along with Bristol, for a book signing and the conduct was very telling.

Here were the rules laid down for the book signing:

Bristol Palin with Special Guest Sarah Palin Book Signing Wednesday, June 29, 2011 5 p.m. Rotunda

Look at Rule Number 4.

"4. You must have a copy of “Not Afraid of Life: My Journey So Far” in order to purchase a copy of “America by Heart” and/or “Going Rogue” signed by Sarah Palin."

In order words, if a potential Palin voter wanted to purchase a Sarah Palin book and have it signed, Sarah Palin would refuse to sign it unless that individual bought a copy of Bristol's book describing losing her virginity in a drunken coed camping trip.

That is not the behavior of an individual that is trying to court voters.

That is the behavior of a family that is cashing in and trying to maximize profits for Bristol.

"Buy Bristol's book or take a hike. We are here to make money first and new friends second."

Politicians who are truly running and truly want to endear themselves to as many voters as possible do everything they can to reach out and please as many voters as possible.

The Palins, however, do everything they can to maximize the income. .... Even refusing to sign a Sarah Palin book unless money is spent on Bristol.

As it was, the book signing did not require crowd management at 5:00 AM and the local newspaper reported than only 1,500 individuals showed up with that number including passers by.

But there were no overwhelming crowds; all those who came got through the line during the two-hour event. The Palins signed about 700 books, but mall officials estimated that 1,500 people attended the event -- some merely strolling by and stopping to gaze over the rotunda railing. When it comes to book signings, Mall of America officials say, former wrestler and movie star the Rock chalked up the largest crowd at the mall with 8,000 people in January 2000. Hillary Rodham Clinton's book signing in August 2003 drew 4,000 fans

To: crz .... Are you going to answer the people that have directed posts to you, or are you just going to continue to repeat one of the most stupid and deranged lines I've seen on FR in a while?

I answered for him. See Post 91.

On Wednesday, at the Mall of America, Sarah Palin was refusing to sign her own books unless the buyer also bought Bristol's book.

Bristol Palin with Special Guest Sarah Palin Book Signing Wednesday, June 29, 2011 5 p.m. Rotunda

"4. You must have a copy of “Not Afraid of Life: My Journey So Far” in order to purchase a copy of “America by Heart” and/or “Going Rogue” signed by Sarah Palin."

Cashing in?

You betcha!

To anybody with an ounce of common sense, it is obvious that the Palins are "cashing in". Bristol will even be using her young son as a Reality TV show prop in Los Angeles. Los Angeles!

Great place to raise a young child. On a Reality TV show in Los Angeles.

Cashing in?

You betcha!

No matter how much you adore her, Lakeshark, the fact remains that, unless you gave in to the blackmail and purchased Bristol's book, Sarah Palin would have refused to sign your copy ..... yes, Lakeshark .... refused to sign YOUR newly purchased copy of HER own book .... at the Mall of America on Wednesday.

"No money for Bristol? No Sarah Palin signature on a Sarah Palin book for you!"

Cashing in?

You betcha!

Throwing out over-the-top accusations such as "most stupid and deranged lines" does not change the fact that you are acting like an irrational member of a Cult of Personality that cannot bear to have his object of adoration reduced to a mere and fallible mortal.

“Michelle Bachmann is looking good to me as a backup from which I won’t depart if Sarah demurs too much longer. Stop the maneuvering, Sarah. Do what your heart says now.”

Actually I think she is doing what her heart tells her....She’ll announce at the right time....And I will be faithful.....No Bachman, Romney, Perry ect.....I will write her name in because “GAME OVER” if she doesn’t run in my book anyway....

That's just basic arithmetic. The twinkies and other idiots are fatally mistaken if they think a return to RINO policies will save civilization.

Tipped my hat to you.
That is the reason I believe that Palin should be the head of the RNC. She is good at raising money.

As for me..I aint decided yet. Its between Cain, Bachman and Paul..yes thats right PAUL! He is the only one that throughout his term is Congress has stayed basically the same on his stands. But, I suppose it will hold my nose and vote for someone else again since there is no way IN HELL we can allow this present asshat in office for another four years.

Awww, isn't that cute, another concern troll about "worshipers", do you ever tire of being so stupid?

I'm glad you can read her mind, I'm also glad you so willingly and viciously take the leftist/KOS position that you do, it shows a lot about about you and how deranged you must actually be.

Proclaiming to be a conservative, then repeating the leftist talking points on a conservative pro/Palin forum in an attempt to take down someone who has done (at a minimum) more for the conservative movement than most GOP members, is really sick. It's one thing to not favor her as a presidential candidate, but to go after her the way you do shows a sickness.

Stupid? Deranged? You betcha you are!

From the COMMENTS section at the C4P thread:
Six Clues Palin is Running For President

-- snip --

I just ran into a friend at the local health food store.  She voted for Obama and volunteered for his campaign. She told me she is totally disappointed in him and she definitely will not be voting for him again.

I told her that if the Undefeated came anywhere near here I would take her to see it.

She had no idea what I was talking about..never heard of the movie.

I gave her a brief synopsis and then reiterated that I would pay for her ticket and she said she would love to see it.

This is PRECISELY the way that we must -- and will -- use this powerful new campaign tool to elect President Palin.
