For the GOP, it's Romney, Bachmann and, maybe, Perry (Sexist, racist & wrong - the Trifecta!)

A few weeks ago, the race for the Republican presidential nomination was a jumble of candidates, none of whom seemed to be winning the party's hearts or minds: Mitt Romney, Tim Pawlenty, Newt Gingrich. For a moment, some GOP voters even pinned their hopes on pizza magnate Herman Cain, mostly because he didn't sound — or look — like the others.

But now, if you talk with Republican political professionals, the GOP race has suddenly settled into a contest among only two or three potential nominees.

There's Romney, still the front-runner, stolidly running a cautious and conventional campaign.

There's Michele Bachmann, the "tea party" insurgent, who jumped into the first tier with a crisp performance at the June 13 debate in New Hampshire.

And waiting in the wings, there's Rick Perry, the governor of Texas, who is considering a run for the White House.

All the other possibilities have been eclipsed, the GOP pros say. Pawlenty, the former governor of Minnesota who was once seen as a strong candidate, has lost ground by appearing uncertain about his own economic policies and how tough he wanted to be in his critique of Romney. Jon Huntsman, the former governor of Utah, is trying to win the nomination as a moderate and is openly courting non-Republican independents, a strategy the pros think is doomed. Gingrich couldn't even get his campaign staff to follow him. Sarah Palin, the former governor of Alaska, has convinced political strategists (and many voters) that she's not serious about running.....

I want Palin to be President. All Palin supporters should only sing Bachmann praises, so when Michelle gets out of the race and supports Palin, her supporters will get on board, also.

PALIN WILL ONLY BENEFIT BY BACKMANN!

If Palin gets into the race, it will be a tough decision.

Bachmann is really good at the issues. I haven’t seen anyone better on fiscal issues.

But I am loyal to Palin, and can’t stand that Bachmann hired Ed Rollins.

Rollins is a hideous, sinister, and slimy character. Those who were on FP 19 years ago remember how Rollins absolutely stabbed Perot in the back. He was a paid consultant for Perot, but he really worked for the Republican Party and his duty was to sabotage the third-party movement. He will do the same to Bachmann. He will report everything he learns to the Republican Establishment.

I hope Bachmann dumps this guy. The personal attacks on Sarah Palin by Rollins is enough cause. Bachmann needs to fire Rollins and make amends with Palin.

Also — do not believe the polls that say Palin is unelectable, because she is. They did the same thing to Perot. All the polls and all the media right before the election said he would only get 2 or 3 percent of the vote and urged everyone not to waster their votes on him. Many people bought into that and didn’t vote for him, but in spite of that, he ended up getting 19% of the vote (25% of the vote here in Washington State.)

Palin (or Bachmann) can definitely win. (They should try to get Perot’s endorsement.)

The Left-Wing LA Times, always telling conservatives what they want them to do so they can defeat them.

None of what you posted is true about Perry. Perry has a record so its pretty easy to see what he has done - the good, the bad and ugly. He aint perfect granted but he is no RINO. I welcome Perry into the race.
