Bill Kristol wrote on Saturday that hes heard from sources its likely Daniels will run. That seemed plausible given Barbours decision to stay out and his decision on Friday to sign the Indiana bill defunding Planned Parenthood. If hes running, though, why would he say something as silly as this?
His foreign-policy details are TBD. Daniels said that it cannot be illegitimate to ask if some of the countrys military commitments should be unwound, but he has not yet reached any conclusions about which should beor, at least, any he is willing to share.
On Afghanistan he refuses to second-guess the decisions of the president, to whose greater access to information he defers. On Libya he says only that he has not seen the case for intervention made. One gets the impression of someone who is much more cautious about foreign intervention than Mitt Romney or Tim Pawlenty, but also cautious about saying so.
He was asked if he were ready to debate President Obama on foreign policy. Probably not. (He is candid.)

Daniels is cautious...and honest about it. Nothing wrong with that.
Daniels is pathetic.
We need a leader. Daniels is a wimp.
Behold...the great white hope of the Republican Party!!!
The reply Rush got (and encouraged) was:
WIMP!!!
This is going to be a great sound bite for Daniel's opponents.......
This is the sort of thing that, had Palin said it, would be cited by the George Wills of the world as proof of her alleged intellectual incuriosity and as evidence that she should never, ever be nominated. E.g., Why isnt she ready to debate Obama? Doesnt she care enough about foreign policy to study it? But since its Daniels, no doubt itll be applauded as refreshingly candid and a demonstration of charming Hoosier modesty.

If that's the way he feels, I admire his candor, but would you hire a job applicant who said he didn't feel ready to discuss the job?
To run the free world... one must have a grasp on the current geopolitical situation throughout the world. He was not ready to answer this question because he had not thought far enough ahead to expect it. We can no longer afford a leader who needs on the job training. This incident would keep me from ever supporting his candidacy for 2012. Let him LEARN for the next two conservative administrations and then we will see.

The solution in any debate with teleprompter man is simple and involves one question and Reagan even provided it for us:
Are you better off now than you were four yrs. ago?
Then all the candidate has to do is cite obamas failures in the economy which could fill volumes and then his anemic foreign policy which mimics jimmy carters.
Bold contrasts will win the day!
Just what we need. Another uniformed timid rabbit running for President. If Mitch is not up to speed on foreign affairs he needs to go to President’s school for a few years and try again later.
And that's the truth.

This story is getting out to the base, Mitch is going to be back pedaling on this soon..........
He called for surrender on values and social conservatism, now he surrenders foreign policy, what a guy.
Hey Mitch, go ahead and stay at home. You’re not the guy we need right now. If you are really not ready, why would you admit to it?
I don’t know what he looks like either and I think I did see a picture of him on a spouses of the possible candidates thread the other day. I consider myself to be pretty well informed for an average American. The guy doesn’t stand a chance.
Here he is. Sorry, this guy has RINO
Milquetoast written all over him.
Ewwwww.....
