Ari Fleischer says there's no "way, shape or form" Sarah Palin can lock the Republican nomination.
"I cannot see any way, shape or form that she can win the Republican primary," Fleischer, the former press secretary to President George W. Bush, said as reported by the Idaho Mountain Express.
Fleischer, who was in Ketchum, Idaho to speak as part of the Sun Valley Center for the Arts' Lecture Series, said he'd never seen such a wide open Republican field, but that the former Alaska governor was not among the serious contenders....

I’ve said that in past elections (several, in fact) about far lesser candidates than Governor Palin (several, in fact) and been proven painfully wrong. So I think you’ll understand why I’m loath to say it about a candidate I actually respect and think can win the nomination and then the election.

So when the media pours garbage all over your favorite candidate, then complains that they smell, you will abandon them? You can be assured that whoever is nominated will be trashed at the same level as Palin has been.
Gov. Palin won the nomination during the 2010 midterm election. She won it with the grassroots. You will know this when she announces her candidacy.
There is no cult here. There is a lot of admiration for someone who is real, has really lived her principles, and will fight against Obama’s agenda while others will do nothing.
As always with political predictions like this, it is not a statement about whether Palin can win the nomination.
It’s a statement telling us that Fleischer doesn’t want her to win the nomination.

The problem lies with the fact that many Christians are unaware of the history of forced conversions,
I understand and know abou the crusades. These were initiated by man - the Church and they were not following the teaching of Christ in the new testiment which are all of love - love of all. The early Church acted, at times, no better than the Islamists who hate and kill the “infidel” and for those I am sorry. Yes, Christians are directed to preach the gospel but only in love. God doesn’t want people to come to Him because they are beaten into it but to come because of the promises He gives us and our love for Him. In our times, a Christian knows that the Jewish people are the promised of God and his chosen people. That is why we respect, love and stand by them and all Isral - not to do so would bring about Gods displeasure because he blesses those who bless you (the Isralites) and curse those who curse you. I am sorry for so much fear but I am glad that the Jews can come to America and worship freely.

Palin runs ==> most hardcore conservatives, a bunch of fiscal conservatives, some Hillary supporters hoping to pay back Obama, some people sick of $4 (or whatever) gas support her; moonbats and some of the easily duped (who also *have* jobs) against her
Jeb runs ==> gets the RINO vote and very little of the independents; both the moonbats and true conservatives go apesh*t against him, except for some Palin supporters who stay home.

The point is to win. If the Republicans don’t win in 2012 then Obama will. God knows what the country will look like after two terms of that man.
I like Sarah Palin because she is right politically and as a person seems to be genuinely morally good and grounded in Christian values. I doubt that she could win an election against Obama, though.
Reagan was an accomplished actor, and we forget this at our peril. He was able to project an image of control and self assurance which made people comfortable with voting for him as a leader. Goldwater was a good man with many of the same principles, but he lacked these things and was all too real to win. Palin doesn’t come across as a natural leader, and that matters. Obama won, after all - he has no qualifications or experience, but he did project the right sort of image, and that matters to a large portion of the electorate.
Incidentally, both Huckabee and Romney, I don’t trust, given their records as Governors. Romney could win, but would probably govern much as Obama has.
Gingrich would perhaps be a good President despite his personal moral failings. Personally, I am impressed by Rubio, but I suppose he’s a long shot.

When we get to substance, there is no comparison between Palin and Gingrich. Palin has been consistent in her positions and has been proven correct on issue after issue. Gingrich has made mistake after mistake on judgement issues. Remember Dede Scuzz? How about making a global warming video with Pelosi? For a smart man, he seems to be lacking a firm foundation from which to base his judgements. He also lacks executive experience. He knows the ways of Washington, but is that an asset in the current environment?
In Alaska, Gov. Palin accomplished more in two and a half years than other governors have in two terms. She fought against corrupt politicians in her own party, fought against the oil companies, cut the budget, improved revenues and reduced spending, reset the public employee retirement system to keep it solvent, and proved that she represented the people and not special interests. That record is ignored by the media. No leadership skills there according to them.
The 2010 election should have firmly established Palin’s image as a leader. Without her leadership (including targets on a map) we would not have the majority in the House. Romney, Gingrich, Pawlenty, Huckabee all tried to have an effect but they didn’t have the political insight and leadership and didn’t make good choices. The media took her leadership and portrayed it as a failure to win the Senate. This is the same logic as accusing your manager with not making you $2 million when they made you $1 million.
If you are waiting on the media to recognize Palin’s leadership skills, you’ll have a long time to wait. Although they will talk up others abilities now, as soon as someone gets the nomination, they too will be unqualified, unprofessional, and not poor leaders.
