Meg, the lady beat Frank Murkowski in the ‘06 Republican primary, then beat his predecessor Tony Knowles to become governor, at a time when nobody much south of Juneau except hardcore political geeks knew who she was, i.e., before she became Sarah Palin the national media magnet, in a horrible year for the Republicans. Let’s just say I’m more confident about her chances than you are.
