It is beginning to look like the GOP has declared open season on Mama Grizzlies- or at least one Mama Grizzly. Many Republicans are losing their willingness to stay silent about Sarah Palin, and the latest is Maine Republican Senator Susan Collins who has always been a moderate politically. New Englands Republicans have been reluctant to cater to the Tea Party because it is not a very strong movement in the region. Vermonts Tea Party rallies have attracted around a hundred people, for instance.
Senator Collins feels that former Governor Palin cost the Republicans control of the Senate with her endorsements of Christine ODonnell, Sharron Angle, Carly Fiorina, Ken Buck John Raese, and Joe Miller, among others.
Collins does not believe that Palin will run for President stating I think she likes being a celebrity commentator for Fox and a speaker and being able to provide for her family. I think that life appeals to her. Its a lot easier to charge people up than actually govern.
She also stated about Palin and Republican Senator Jim DeMint they cost us two seats we could have won, referencing Delaware and Nevada.
Collins also believes that if Joe Miller fails to unseat Lisa Murkowski in Alaska, that her power will be weakened considerably. Collins is up for reelection in 2014. Senior Maine Senator Olympia Snowe is up for reelection in 2012, and may find herself in the crosshairs of the Tea Party movement the same way that Scott Brown is right now. Brown is also up for reelection in 2012.
Nobody is making Palin an idol, or is "worshipping" her.
We are drawn to her because she stands her ground and says what she means. When you have strong leaders like Governor Palin, they naturally attract a following.
When is John effin up for re-election?
That's ridiculous.
Good point. How many people did she get elected?
They could all start reading up on the constitution and it could have a different outcome.
Or they could keep on the way they are in which case pushing them out will be a pleasure.
Collins has a poor personal reputation and would be shamed by a woman of Palin’s stature.
The rather pathetic Ms. Collins may just be jealous of the beautiful, articulate, wealthy and much-loved Sarah Palin. I have often wondered what handicap Ms. Collins suffered as a child which resulted in her strange speech cadence. Too bad that the GOP didn’t win enough Senate races to make her and her RINO buddy, Snowe, irrelevant.
Did she even send anyone a campaign donation?
If you don’t like conservative leaders and conservatives winning historical election victories, just say so, don’t accuse the conservative leaders of being “idols”, or we conservatives of being “idol” worshipers.
Instead of cheering the seats gained & the Tea Party influence that helped make those gains, Collins chooses to attack Palin for her efforts, as if she is a pariah.
What a fool. Does Collins think she will need Tea Party support in 2014 when she runs again? Or perhaps Tea Party support/votes are not wanted by her?
If this is the plan of so-called moderate Pubs, then the Republican Party is dead, & Collins’ 2014 reelection run will be a 3 way race that effectively gives her seat to the Rats.
Keep this crap up, you liberal, elitist Pubs, & you are gonna lose a substantial block of your former support to a third party - for good.
As for Palin, I really like what she is doing right now. She is a great spokeswoman for conservatives, & she drives the elites & liberals to say & do things that expose their many flaws. This is exactly what is happening here with Collins. I'd like to see her maintain this role thru the 2012 elections. There are plenty of great conservative candidates that could do a good job as President, but no one else tells it like Sarah. As President, she would not be able to be as outspoken & frank.
Sarah is young. She has plenty of time to be President. But for 2012 & beyond, we need her loud, unconstrained voice to help turn this country around.
A sitting liberal Republican Senator attacks Palin, (a Conservative Republican)....and you are worried about Palin causing a war? Or being an “idol” like Obama?????
Makes ZERO sense.
F U S C
The Empire IS striking back.. probably hoping the Tea Party will lose momentum now that we’ve taken back the Country.
How mental are they? We have redistricting, hot arrows drawn on the rest of the RINOs and a completely energized and re-moralized base.
These RINO women, and the liberal/socialist/leftist women are just pea green jealous of Governor Palin’s beauty and accomplishments. So are the metrosexual leftist men. The world is her oyster. There are some good conservative candidates coming to the forefront now with the advent of the Tea Party. So I hope Sarah will just have a happy time and make lots of money and not feel like she has to become a whipping boy any more. She has the best of both worlds now, LOTS of influence for the conservative side and the freedom to do lots of effectual and lucrative stuff. - Whoops! Who was that I just saw going round the bend, looked like a pea green Katie Couric?! Oh, and there goes a green version of Joy Behar!
Hey Susan, get a fricken clue....you’re on the RINO “kick her ass out of office” list!!!!
And your “Wonder Twin” Snowe ain’t safe either!!!!
2014 i think
yes that might be his saving grace. you say you would vote for him as the lesser of two evils and with tha tI understand but do you think he will have the same kind of support in money and GOTV efforts as before. just trying to gauge his level of support.
do you think she could win NH and ME as the GOP nominee or do you think they would vote for Obama?
