Maine Sen. Susan Collins Rips Into Sarah Palin
Lez Get Real ^ | November 10, 2010 | Bridgette P. LaVictoire

It is beginning to look like the GOP has declared open season on Mama Grizzlies- or at least one Mama Grizzly. Many Republicans are losing their willingness to stay silent about Sarah Palin, and the latest is Maine Republican Senator Susan Collins who has always been a moderate politically. New England’s Republicans have been reluctant to cater to the Tea Party because it is not a very strong movement in the region. Vermont’s Tea Party rallies have attracted around a hundred people, for instance.

Senator Collins feels that former Governor Palin cost the Republicans control of the Senate with her endorsements of Christine O’Donnell, Sharron Angle, Carly Fiorina, Ken Buck John Raese, and Joe Miller, among others.

Collins does not believe that Palin will run for President stating “I think she likes being a celebrity commentator for Fox and a speaker and being able to provide for her family. I think that life appeals to her. It’s a lot easier to charge people up than actually govern.”

She also stated about Palin and Republican Senator Jim DeMint “they cost us two seats we could have won,” referencing Delaware and Nevada.

Collins also believes that if Joe Miller fails to unseat Lisa Murkowski in Alaska, that her power will be weakened considerably. Collins is up for reelection in 2014. Senior Maine Senator Olympia Snowe is up for reelection in 2012, and may find herself in the crosshairs of the Tea Party movement the same way that Scott Brown is right now. Brown is also up for reelection in 2012.

I hope more RINOs and Democrats attack her: It can only help define her conservatism and opposition to the elite insiders and wishy-washy moderates.

Collins would have been equally unhappy if those people had won. She just hates Sarah. Its fun watching RINO’s notice the freight train that is coming their way.

We’re going to have to wait until 2014 to get Collins. Snowe is uo in 2012.

Collins knows so very much about actually “Governing.”

She can cross over now as it won’t make a bit of difference for at least 2 years, and then she of course ain’t so safe either in 2014.

"It’s a lot easier to charge people up than actually govern.”

Unlike an elite senator who has the luxury of pontificating in a collegial chamber, Palin actually has been elected to positions where she is directly accountable to the people who elected her.

In addition she cleaned house on the state oil and gas commission resulting in at least one being fined heavily for ethics violations.
When toting up Palin's credentials, do not omit her experience as chair and ethics officer of the Alaska Oil & Gas Conservation Commission.

Sarah and her ..Class. Class is something you have or
don’t have....guess who has it? JK

Naw, Sarah should ignore her. The reason why Collins is saying this is because Sarah is kicking the Obama administration's @ss on QE2. Every time Sarah has a good week, or slaps somebody down, there's always a poll that sprouts out of nowhere saying she's polarizing or beatable, or you have anonymous flunkies trashing her. They're even talking about how the Tea Party is keeping Bristol in DWTS finals. All of it is sidebar crap to knock Sarah off her game.

Hmm. And I think it’s a huge mistake to encourage an internecine war. I don’t see the upside at all. And making an idol of Palin, much as happened with Obama,is also a mistake. All it does is set her up as a greater target and for a fall.

Those liberal republicans’ brains work like dem liberals. Where is the logic or proof? dingy harry ran out the other candidates in the primary. The GOP treated COD like a read-headed step child with bubonic plague. How many seats did they expect to win? I thought 7 seats was a record onto itself. Oh well, I’ll put Sarah up against about 1000 of them at the same time.

We are better with Coons than Castle, and he is up again in 2 years. And Sue Lowden would have LOST to Reid this year.

Senator Collins feels that former Governor Palin cost the Republicans control of the Senate...

Why does she care anyway? So her constant voting with the Democrats will hurt the Republic even less?

Shut up, Susan. You have absolutely no room to talk about this.

Though I certainly wouldn't encourage attacks by Rats and RINOs, the problem with turning the other cheek, as Bush did when attacked by the libs during his last years in office, is that they end up controlling the narrative in concert with the lamestream media. That must be avoided if we are to prevail in 2012; we must push back against the attacks.

I don’t think Scott brown has much to worry about from the Tea party movement here in Mass, look at the election result. Snowe & Collins need to look at the election returns in Maine - they’re in trouble.
