The next Ron Paul, and/or the anti-Palin (Politico at it, again!)
The Politico ^ | November 5, 2010 | Ben Smith

Posted on 11/05/2010 10:01:48 AM PDT by 2ndDivisionVet

Ben Birnbaum writes that former New Mexico Gary Johnson looks set to inherit the small, entertaining Republican primary space occupied by Ron Paul.

He also seems set to occupy another space: The anti-Palin. There's a substantial minority of Republicans who don't like her, and with the rest of the field terrified of giving offense, it's a niche that will get him attention and some fans:

What does Johnson make of Palin? On a drive through the foothills of New Hampshire, I ask him. Riding shotgun, he turns the question around on me. “Um, I guess some people think she’s folksy,” I say from the backseat.

“Well, at first she strikes you as folksy,” he shoots back. “And then you realize: She might be running for president of the United States! And then, don’t we have the obligation to tell her what a terrible idea that is?”

Who? So they need to "manufacture" an anti-Palin since none exists?

The right needs to ignore Politico. It is a Democrat propaganda organization that probably 80% of the country doesn’t even know exists. Don’t go to their website, don’t spread their links, pretend like they do not exist.

Politico again goes after another crap B/S story.

Maybe it’s high time for us to get protesting outside these biased media outlets HQ’s and demand that they do their job instead of being hacks for the far left.

Wonder how ABC, NBC, CBS, CNN, etc would feel if thousands protested outside their HQ’s every day and did a boycott of their advertisers and stations?

nail on head

always gets me when we read on here or hear about MSNBC and yet we still have those same people going to their channel or buying their rag of a paper or visiting their website.

All they’re doing is adding to their viewership, etc

Just stop going there, stop buying their rags, and stop going to their channels.
Tell friends family neighbors etc

It is the biased media who are destroying this country by helping the far left

I met Gary Johnson in Iowa City in September. He is a one issue candidate, recreational drug legalization.

More evidence that President Palin is inevitable.

The Left would have no need for an "anti-Palin" if it wasn't.

Boy, isn’t that the truth.

We have seen that problem here at FreeRepublic in spades with the Ron Paul supporters.

People need to get through their heads that Sarah Palin is unelectable. She hasn’t even been able to deliver her proxy candidate in her home state, and her negatives nationwide are insurmountable. Let her yak and make money, but she simply can’t position herself as the leader of the free world. Sorry.

I’ve seen this guy Johnson on TV. He’s a libertarian stoner. Looks and talks like your typical pothead.

And Ronald Reagan, just before he got elected in 1980 was unelectable as well, given his negatives in polling.

What's your point Karl Rove?

You haven’t heard of Johnson? He’s the two term New Mexico govenror and champion of the second amendment. Unlike that OTHER governor, he didn’t wimp out and resign and also unlike that other governor he consistently cut taxes.

You seem to be nanny state Republican. Do you also want to ban smoking in cars and on beaches? Probably so.

Tell me another one. Unlike Paln, he actually did something to reduce small government: slashed taxes, slashed spending, and vetoed successive gun control laws while governor. He also didn't resign because he couldn't handle the heat but fought the good fight for two terms.

Are you telling me that you think Miller will prevail? Not likely. Palin hasn’t done anybody any favors in this election cycle - the majority in the House was going to flip regardless, and support in the primaries for O’Donnell, McMahon, Angle, Whitman, and Miller cost the Rs the Senate.

Hey Space Cadet, before you post an assinine opinion, you might want to research if what you are saying is true.

Try researching Palin's record as Mayor and Governor next time.

You'll find there are ample examples of Palin reducing the size of government, slashing spending and behaving as a limited-government Govenor.

So unlike that “other” governor he didn’t have multiple bogus ethics complaints and lawsuits filed against him on a daily basis, and therefore wasn’t about to be personally bankrupted? Good to know!

18 of whom

So the majority of the 20(18 of whom won their elections) house members she most vocally supported and endorsed, Nikki Haley, Rand Paul, Susanna Martinez mean nothing to you and they would have won anyway?

Most, if not all, of these candidates jumped in the polls and in fundraising in the primaries when she endorsed them.

Most of them had hard-fought primary and general elections.

Noting you said in that post was true or based in facts.

Whitman? Meg? LOL.
For Governor of CA!

You don’t know anything about Sarah Palin’s endorsements or her record. Hers was the best by far and even praised by ABC.
