Karl Rove: Architect of His Own Political Demise
Canada Free Press ^ | 09/16/10 | Jim O'Neill

Posted on 09/16/2010 3:36:35 PM PDT by CASchack

Last night I watched Karl Rove drive the final nails into his political coffin, as he double-downed his attacks against Christine O’Donnell, on Greta Van Susteren’s show “On The Record.” It may be awhile before the “funeral” takes place, but the coffin is finished, no doubt.

The night before I had watched as Rove began his public self-immolation, on The Sean Hannity Show. Hannity, to his credit, defended O’Donnell against Rove’s surprising (to me, at least) and graceless attack, after her win against Power Elite insider, Mike Castle, in the Delaware Republican primary.

(Kudos to Sean Hannity for standing up to Rove, however, I hope he won’t mind a bit of friendly advice: lose the UN-blue power tie. It’s a bit of sartorial style that was first popularized by “the anointed one” himself, Obama—besides, well…it’s UN-blue).

Response to Rove’s rant by true conservatives was immediate, and almost unanimously, negative.

Rush Limbaugh said, ““Everyone I know that saw this was just—they were perplexed and said, ‘What’s going on?”

Michelle Malkin noted that, “Rove came across as an effete sore loser instead of the supposedly brilliant and grounded GOP strategist that he’s supposed to be.”

Last night when Van Susteren had Rove on her show, I fully expected to see some fancy damage-control back-pedaling. Nope.

Figuratively speaking, Rove took out hammer and nails, and went about sealing his political coffin, with a will. If you’ll permit me to mix metaphors, his aim was unerring, when it came to shooting himself in the foot. His performance was stunningly tone deaf, arrogant, and elitist.

Continues...

By the way, cool is good.

And those politicians aren’t in any way like Bart Simpson.

Al Franken was ok in the 1970s with Tom Davis. Bad on the 2nd go round. Today all those politicians you mentioned are terrible, not cool, not like Bart Simpson.

And Jimi Hendrix was the best guitarist, the most influential guitarist of all time.

Good catch...

RINOs = Closet Liberals; just demonstrates what sore losers they are and no class.

So it’s really not about a unified GOP, Castle could of redeemed himself somewhat or at least had some input for her.

Yes Hendrix, so sad; yet he could have done so much more than just fade away from the Experience.

This article and the hate-Rove schtick is pathetic and juvenile ...Move on

If you want Christine elected work like hell to prove Rove wrong....
At the end of the day he will be either right or wrong....and if he is wrong we will see an apology. Is anyone on this board throwing rocks at Rove gonna apologize if they are wrong?

I doubt it

If Christine loses, you’re right.

If Christine wins, you’ll hear magbast.

She’ll win. I won’t join the magbast cheering squad though.
He just isn’t a Conservative.

But it’s a solid strategy. Get Liberals who hate him to donate to Christine. Get Conservatives nationally 100% behind Christine. Get it out there so Coons will have to come up with something new. Get Christine focused a little bit on coming up with a better story, even if she doesn’t have to use it this year.

Even if he doesn’t even know what he’s doing (If he did work for Castle as people think, if he did ask the tea party to not primary Castle, there’s a good reason to think he is honestly disappointed in Castle’s loss, and his criticisms do seem authetic on TV. I don’t see him winking.), these are the results of his actions. I don’t see any hurt in the polls from this.

Karl Rove’s attack was pathetic. Why no criticism of the RINO Castle? He should have tempered his remarks and been a bit more even-handed in his commentary. Like Rush has said, I have never heard Karl Rove go after a Dem with same vigor as he did O’Donnell.

I did see it as somewhat of an attack but he also gave her some good advice ......which is come clean about the personal finances ...also I think Rove is looking at it from the hard nose political viewpoint ....She is a new to the scene and this is a tough tough race

I don’t think so. I think he has just changed. Drastically. He’s been podded?

Remember how different GWB seemed during his last term? I wondered back then how someone could change their “”values””, much less their vision, that drastically in that small amount of time.

Something really is odd here. I don’t think you can chalk it up to the usual “political corruption creep” either. Solid conservatives have been ‘changed’ to RINO-style liberals. Kay Bailey Hutchinson comes to mind here.

We’ll probably never know the reason, the truth or the why. But it is curious.

They are all brought into Room 32.

In that Room, you are shown something so..... terrifying, so amazing, so DELIGHTFUL and HORRIFYING and CLEVER.... that you change immediately into a liberal.

Krauthammer voted for Mondale over Reagan, and predicted Obama would be a centrist (the latter pointed out by Rush this week).

Well, I will wait with baited breath for Krauthammer to come out and explain that one...heh. Really, I do think that Krauthammer is a decent fellow and has great ideas, but he has missed the Tea Party boat. That is understandable since almost everybody else has missed it also...

That has meant that his predictions are wrong and skewed way too far to the left. That’s okay, he is in the majority of the Republicans and like most of them, he will be eating crow.

This has all be so very destructive of the Republican Party!

**************

Or revealing. Something like discovering major termite damage where it was not suspected. The damage was already done, is is just being brought to light.

Eradicate the termites, rebuild the platform, emerge in a better position.

No one needs to apologize to Rove for anything!

She was the duly elected GOP Senate candidate and he ripped into her.

Well, since you took that statement out of context...heh...

Yes, you are actually right! It is not only revealing but probably just enlightening to many people that have no idea of the duplicity of the Republican Party. That’s okay, if they ever get to experience the Democratic Party, they will come running back with open arms...

That does mean that both parties are so corrupt and dishonest that where does a normal person turn. That is the problem that is presented today. We not only have little choice, but we have no choice when it comes to an honest and decent party. You have me on a roll now...

If this Tea Party Revolution - and it is a revolution, does not turn things around to the point that honesty becomes the norm, what happens next? After all, if you can’t and do not believe your politicians (corrupt as they may be), who are you to believe - the Media (joking), MSNBC (another joke), FOX News, well even they are not always factual.

Yes, things are looking very gloomy. There is a chance that honest people will eventually take over both the political spectrum and the Media (little hope there) but otherwise, how is America to go forward?

Seems very depressing to me...

The way that I see it is that the curtain was ripped back and we see the REAL rove. What a disappointment. Those that know him best... Levin and Rush... have remained shocked and baffled... but both of them have come to the conclusion that rove is just a liberal republican party elite, inside the beltway liberal... IMHO parading as a Conservative for a paycheck... much like krauthammer, krystol and barnes.
