The Tea Party and the power of Sarah Palin
The London Telegraph ^ | September 15, 2010 | Alex Spillius in Washington

The uncrowned queen of the Tea Party, Mrs Palin has placed her sword on the shoulders of 33 candidates involved in primary battles over the past few months; 21 have risen to claim victory, often against heavy initial odds.

Many of those Mrs Palin has endorsed were either novices or obscure state politicians, like Miss O'Donnell, who were struggling until the Palin seal of approval was offered.

More than half were women, in keeping with the former Alaska governor's declaration that Republican "Mama Grizzlies" would rise up and protect their children from Barack Obama's heavy-spending agenda, just as a female bear protects her cubs.

They tended to reflect Mrs Palin's image: women who had balanced a career in local politics with having children, weren't afraid to speak their mind and were unbending on certain issues: the wrongs of abortion, the rights of gun ownership and the dangers of heavy federal spending.

Mrs Palin's first big coup was in South Carolina, where Nikki Haley, a 38-year-old mother of two, beat the Republican "old boys club" to win the party's nomination for governor, which was a virtual guarantee of winning the general election.

In Nevada, she helped Sharron Angle, a former state representative and teacher, triumph over several male rivals.

"It has just taken a while for these type of women to run in elections," said Marjorie Dannenfelser, president of the Susan B Anthony List, a group that supports anti-abortion female candidates.(continued)

This is a little bit off subject.

It’s 10 PM And Christine’s MONEYBOMB is about to hit $800,000.

I already did $50, which, unfortunately, is more than I really can afford, but we need to teach the Elites a lesson!

This time they reported Mrs. Palin's Quick Picks from "across the pond". Baroness Thatcher is smiling.

Thats why you set up The London Telegraph, UK as a first read. I even have it on my iPhone as the only news site I read if I want to know the world’s news. Have for almost a year now. The font is the right size and smart phone ready. But hint for anyone, download App from the London Telegraph site as have to do some searches in the Iphone App store to find it. They like to push the liberal media here in the US ... and best of all the London Telegraph Uk is a FREE App always updating. You will also notice Report on the bottom of the news site page, for reporting a story to them.

She’s our best race horse. Why would we want to hook her up to the milkwagon?

Having lived most of my life in various places out West (including near Hollyweird), I can honestly say that I cannot recall ever hearing anybody say, “Boy Howdy!”

But it sounds kinda like Minnesotan, eh? I can’t vouch fer Minnesota. Some people tink it’s out West, but I always tought of it as an Eastern state, dontcha know...

Naw, it can’t be. Sarah Palin destroyed all her credibility and influence when she resigned as Governor. Nobody likes a quitter. All the beltway pundits said so.
