Talk Starts Of Boehner For President
US News and World Report's Washington Whispers ^ | September 13, 2010 | Paul Bedard

Has President Obama and his White House P.R. team created a monster in Minority Leader John Boehner? Just consider this: Boehner is now the fourth most likely GOP presidential candidate behind Mitt Romney, Sarah Palin, and Mike Huckabee to win the 2012 Republican nomination, according to Ireland's biggest betting site.

Up until about a month ago, Boehner was not a household political name, but that was before the president started to single the Ohio congressman out as the White House struggled to put a face on the Republicans going into the fall elections. That effort has recently reached its height, with Obama mentioning Boehner in speeches. Over the weekend, Boehner's press office and the White House press secretary issued dueling statements over what the minority leader meant when he said on TV that he would vote for a package that wouldn't extend the Bush-era tax cuts to those making over $250,000, though he called it bad policy.

All of that focus on Boehner seems to have raised his profile so much that he's now being mentioned as a presidential candidate in some polls. For his part, Boehner has not talked about the White House, saying that his life goal has been instead to become speaker of the House.

But according to Paddy Power, the Irish sports betting site, Boehner now is an 8-1 shot for the GOP nomination. He's a 20-1 shot to win the presidency. Of course, he'd have to knock off the front-runner, Mitt Romney, and 4-1 favorite Sarah Palin who herself has surged in the betting odds due to her recent successes with political endorsements and stage-sharing with Fox's Glenn Beck.

Paddy Power said in a statement that "Sarah Palin is obviously playing her cards quite close to her chest but recent betting trends suggest that people believe she may just be the shot in the arm needed by the Republicans."

Still, despite his poor public approval ratings and the focus on Republicans in the midterm elections, Paddy Power still has Obama the odds on favorite to win reelection in 2012.

Once again, it is necessary to point out to those who are so enamored and blinded by the winks and "you betchas" that Sarah Palin is NOT a conservative, she is a POPULIST. She may support some conservative positions, even some conservative candidates, but she is a REPUBLICAN first, which is why she is now helping the RINO-RNC (which her supporters and fans used to condemn, urging everyone to send their $$$ to SarahPAC instead of the RNC) raise cash, cash which will be meted out ONLY to those who adhere to the RNC party line, which is NOT conservative, which is nothing more than 'Rat-lite, "Vote for us, because we're not 'Rats, and we got a big 'R' after our names!"

Sarah Palin is on record as stating clearly, and in unequivocal terms, that she fully supports John McCain's "vision for America" and only a fool or an idiot would assume that such a 'vision' is a CONSERVATIVE vision, get a clue folks, IT AIN'T!

John McCain is to conservatives (or should be) what termites are to a lumberyard, but the naive among us not only refuse to believe that McCain and his cronies are munching away at the foundations of our Republic, they're feeding him prime timber for the nourishment of his freakin' RINO-gang!

Sarah Palin has been co-opted by the RNC, she never had one word of criticism for that stinkin' equal-opportunity-chairman, aka Michael Steele, and now she's affixing her signature to fundraising letters going out which will benefit those candidates that Steele and the RNC deem 'worthy' of receiving GOP support. Any conservative with an ounce of sense ought to see that this stinks to high heaven!

Sarah Palin, through her influence, has enabled the likes of McCain in Arizona, FioRINO in California, among others and you can be sure that although they may have that magic 'R' after their names, the 'R' comes first, any conservative consideration comes second (at best).

Sarah Palin is an inconsistent conservative, you can't endorse conservatives one day, and liberal RINOs the next, and expect to be taken seriously. In her case, this further demonstrates that she is not a conservative, she is indeed, a POPULIST, and she is a political opportunist.

"Watch what we do, not what we say"
- Attorney General John N. Mitchell, 1913-1988

Those are wise words, and it would behoove ANYONE hitching their wagon to the Sarah Express to Victory to be watching what she does, not just what she SAYS.

Q: Let me clear something up: Sen. McCain has said he supports caps on carbon emissions. Sen. Obama has said he supports clean coal technology, which I don’t believe you’ve always supported. Do you support capping carbon emissions?
PALIN: I do. I do. “

“”Registration”” amnesty by Palin. (endorsed by the Congressional Hispanic Caucus as a “back door” amnesty.

The Palin worshippers won’t ever comment on these.

Here is another..

PALIN: I was the first governor to form a climate change sub-cabinet to start dealing with the impacts. We’ve got to reduce emissions. John McCain is right there with an “all of the above” approach to deal with climate change impacts. As we rely more on other countries that don’t care as much about the climate as we do, we’re allowing them to produce and to emit and even pollute more than America would ever stand for. It’s all the more reason that we have an “all of the above” approach, tapping into alternative sources of energy and conserving fuel, conserving our petroleum products and our hydrocarbons so that we can clean up this planet.

Wonderful analogy, MKJ! Have a great day!

PS: Your tagline made me blush.
