Which means that
(a) Hillary challenges Obama in the primaries; or
(b) Obama replaces Biden with Hillary on the 2012 Dimwit ticket.
Ron Reagan killed off all the future republican voters by the millions with his signing of the 1969 therapeutic abortion act as CA gov.(leading to 1973 Roe v. wade).
I don’t believe it. I bet Palin had it least 65% and probably over 75%.
NO HUCKABEE!!
NO HUCKABEE!!
That must have been some really good weed you two were smokin'.
Newt had his chance, and blew it. He lacks the moral authority to be President.
Having said that, if he's the nominee, I'll vote for him over Obama.
I’ll second that motion.
Re #22:
It’s okay. Probably more future Democrats got killed off so really it was a good thing. :)
Michael Steele—4%.
Seriously, it’s good to see Palin leading the pack.
Sarah Palin 51% 47%
Mike Huckabee 50% 49%
Mitt Romney 48% 32%
Rudy Giuliani 48% 47%
Newt Gingrich 42% 28%
(we can realistically stop after Gingrich)
Condoleezza Rice 38% 37%
Bobby Jindal 20% 14%
Ron Paul 14% 24%
Tim Pawlenty 10% 10%
Gary Johnson 7% 4%
Michael Steele 4% 7%
Sarah is the only way to go
I’d say:
Palin/Cain
Palin/Bachman
Cain/Palin
Bachman/Cain
Gingerich/Palin
in that order
“We came to the startling conclusion that Newt Gingrich is the most excellent choice for America at this time in her ailing History. As an Historian, with immense experience in leadership, Newt may be the most natural choice at this stage.”
I still can’t believe how BLIND republicans still are to Mr. CFR Gingrich. He’s the guy....if we want more of the same!
Gingrich is NOT a conservative!
THE GRINCH WHO STOLE CONSERVATISM

I go with Palin-Cain.
“Newtie is a brilliant strategist and thinker (as we saw with the 1994 GOP election victories), but he’s horrible in implementing policy and is easily rolled. Besides, he’s gotten too cozy with the Ruling Class”
Sums it up well.
I won’t vote for Huckabee.
“American supporters of the Republican Party...”
The key factor here isn’t the favorables but the unfavorables. With Palin, Guiliani and Huckabee in the high 40’s among conservative voters, I don’t see how they could mount a significant campaign. There just isn’t any wriggle room for them to improve.
The most shocking number is Gingrich. I would have thought his unfave’s would be the highest.
Folks on FR won’t like this but..... Either Palin or Huckabee should be the nominee with the other as running mate. I think the two would complement each other, regardless of who was the lead person. Of course, I am a moral conservative, so that is why these two appeal to me. However, I think the general population would take to them as well. It is all a matter of how President Obama is perceived in 2012. Hard to predict at this point.
I can see Newt as the Sec of State. I’m certain that Mitt could be useful in a high Sec. position as well.
The two key findings in the poll:
1) Without Sarah Palin running, we would again have 2008 redux, many moderates with conservatives having to decide which moderate “flavor” to support. But with Palin running in 2012, conservatives have no excuse in 2012 with a Reagan conservative being very viable. If you are a conservative, by virtue of the this poll you have a Hobson choice, either vote for Palin or stop complaining that the MSM picks the GOP candidates who is most RINOish. And if you are a conservative there is no second choice or conservative dark horse that is going to emerge. If there was, why did none appear in 2008? For conservatives it has to be Palin.
2)Tim Pawlenty was rejected by 90% of the respondents. Imho, he was never viable and never will be. This poll says it all. When 1003 GOP voters are asked to rate every candidate on the list to where they would make a good president or not and he can only muster 100 of those people who speak up for him, I would say Tim, it’s time to pick up your marbles and go home.
