Former Alaska Gov. Sarah Palin blames her upside-down approval rating among independents on one of her favorite foils: the media.
Palin, who serves as a paid commentator for Fox News, said on "Fox News Sunday" that "if I believed everything I read or heard in the media, I wouldn't like me either."
Fox host Chris Wallace cited recent polling numbers from Quinnipiac University that showed 50 percent of independents viewed the former vice presidential GOP nominee in an unfavorable light. Just a third said they viewed her favorably.
"I've never committed to running for president for one and I know that polls are fickle so we won't even talk about the approval rating or the favorability," she responded.
"As for the unfavorable, you know, I don't blame people for not really knowing what it is, in some instances, what I stand for or what my record is," she continued.
Her favorable rating among Republicans was much better, with members of her own party approving of her by a 66 percent to 18 percent margin, according to Quinnipiac.

Hillary had MUCH higher unfavorable before the 2008 election, but today has something like 60%+ support.
If Palin runs and performs well in the debates, she will EARN back the respect of the people, which is how it should be. No one deserves to be handed the nomination.
I support Palin all the way.She was sold a bill of goods by eric erickson in backing karen handel in Georgia.I would hope she would see the error and look more closely at the candidates in the future.
I wish she would have replied with the following:
A 50 percent disapproval rating with moderates? I bet Mr. Obama would kill to have an approval rating like that with moderates!!!
JournOlism at it’s finest.
Of course Wallace did not cite the Greg Sargent blog (the Plum) in July that when he commented on Palin’s Gallup overall numbers of 44/47 two weeks ago, he wrote that he had talked to Gallup and they had confirmed her numbers with Independent voters were 44/44 at this time and that her numbers with the GOP 76/20.
And don’t forget the July PPP poll in a h/h matchup with Obama among indies that she was beating him 47% to 42%.
I saw fire in her eyes today—even more so than usual. She was quick on her feet, too, refusing to deliver bland, PC responses. The “only dead fish go with the flow” comment even caught CW off guard. I think she is using this time to hone her skills, challenge B.O. and keep him off balance, and become a presence in America’s living rooms. In the past, I’ve been a bit dismissive of her because of her one-liners and seeming oversimplification of the issues. But I’m taking her more seriously now. She has learned from being burned, and she won’t let it happen again if she is a candidate. If she is a candidate in 2012, I think I WOULD vote with no qualms.
Mere mortals have the ability to improve but in increments.
Superstars like Palin have the ability to improve dramatically especially when they do not have a day job to go to. Driving her out of office was absolutely the worst thing the Obama war room and the Left did. I would love to see them get hoisted by their own petard.
Politico is Dem front group shilling for the rats . I have heard Allen on the Hewitt program . Another breathless drama queen .
Perfectly put.
Additionally, I'd say that the only people truly enabling the commie confab known as the MSMS are the SPONSORS WHO ADVERTISE ON THE NETWORKS.
Boycott. Organize your friends and family to loudly and consistently refuse to purchase any product advertised on CBS, MSNBC, etc.
And write a letter to the advertisers telling them what you are doing, and encourage them to take their business to Fox if they ever want to see another dime of your money.
Yawn. When the debates happen, and the rallies etc, her numbers will go way up and all the bitter Palin-haters here on FR will be miserable. Maybe they will finally move out of their parents’ basements and get lives....oops I guess I’m a Palin “worshipper” now.
Palin 2012
Greg Sargent two wweks ago when discussing Palin’s F/UF with Gallup (44/47)also wrote that “Gallup had sent his way” more numbers, that Palin’s F/UF were evenly split at 44/44. He then tried to make the argument that Palin had only a net favorability among the GOP (76/20) but he failed to realize at the time by declaring her to have a 44/44 F/UF with indie voters was the greatest present he could have given Palin.
Of course Wallace did not cite Gallup’s poll did he because if he did that would have destroyed his entire narrative

I was referring to independent voters when I cited 44/44.
Allen brings nothing to the party. His Huuuuuuuugh is really annoying. As are many of Hewitt’s squishy regulars like Kyl and Dreier.
I’d have to look it up. If he’s not, it’s probably because he didn’t want to have to pay the membership fee.
